I think the biggest issue I have with this "I live. I ride. I am." campaign is that all the commercials I've seen boil down to one thing: They're pretentious. Their mistake is that you don't need to rebrand Jeep. It already has a great attitude and feel and a strong brand. You're trying to reinvent the wheel instead of building on it. Who are you trying to rebrand it for? Yuppies? Pretentious dickholes? What exactly? This is the best one out of the bunch but that's not saying much.
I own a Wrangler and this is how i took this commercial... We all have things we have to do everyday, like a job, and we could sit there and waste away as time creeps, Or we can be greedy and seize every moment no matter what we are doing or where we are. This is a "carpe diem" feeling that you will become accustomed to when you own a Jeep because The Jeep brand gives you a feeling of Freedom---the freedom to seize every minute of the day! (...and rightfully so.)
This is bad commercial because it's a misguided attempt at branding. It's a horrible commercial because it's sentiment is applicable to so many products. "l live. I ride. I am. Blank." The Jeep Wrangler is an iconic brand and can handle this type of messaging, but you have to be a bit more creative than that.
Show the sheet metal. Have a girl in tight-fitting jean shorts and a flannel shirt demo the stereo.Tell us what it costs to put one in our driveway. What's the matter Jeep? Ashamed to show the product?
As a Jeep owner, adventurer, cyclist, kayaker, rock climbing, backpacker . . . Yeah, these commercials make perfect sense. It's like the All State commercials; "cars are not for showing how far we've come, but for taking us where we want to go."
I have no idea what anyone is talking about this is Jeep! It makes you want to go with the moment and be out in your Jeep. The vehicle could be shown a bit more but i like it. I could see this being played as a commerical during some of my fav tv shows for sure. Also I do love the use of showing mutiple clocks, relates to people having different lifestyles.
Wow you guys have it all wrong. This commercial makes perfect sense, its about personality and lifestyle, if you were true to Jeep, then maybe you'd understand
This commercial is dumb, it has nothing to do with jeeps, it only shows one pissy little picture of the vehicle! I thought cars commercials where supposed to advertise the car, not say a bunch of stupid stuff that doesn't have any connection with the car. Chrysler "Group" is heading in the wrong diredtion. =(
I take it you don't own a Jeep? My Jeep isn't in itself exciting at all. The places it takes me are. From deep into swamps to the tops of mountains. As the commercials says, I don't sit around staring at clocks waiting for this or that, or as the other current commercials says, waiting for the next big thing on tv. Plus, in marketing the only way to get your message across is by being different. Hence your first comment "I thought cars commercials".
if i were a guy looking for a car.....how would this ad persuade me to buy a jeep.....it lists nothing about the performance or reliability of the car
Yeah, this commercial makes sense, its just NOT Jeep. Whats the strategy? Can't build real Jeeps anymore so may as well have pointless commercials? I am disappointed. :(
Jeep should change it to "Jeep-Just Enjoy Every Path"

How about showing some people having fun in their Jeep.
Looking at the clock is not fun!
terpking 2 years ago
That's the point. Looking at clocks isn't fun, which is why the narrator says he's out enjoying every moment. And how is he doing it? In a Jeep. :)
