can the owners of gunner tell me where they got the dog (what breeder)..i just had to say goodbye to becky..a water spaniel i had for 13 years that looks so much like gunmer it could be her brother
did burt imprint on gunner..meaning did you get the goose as a chick and it sees gunner as mother...maybe you know what i mean...or are they just friends...burt just seems to follow gunner like a gosling to the mother goose...and do they sleep or nap near one and other and if so do you have any pictures or video of that...thanks john
No, it was a case of unrequited love. Burt was bonded with Jezebel and she had an affair with a bachelor wild goose. Burt refused to forgive her and then took up with Gunner. Burt is exiled from the main flock about half the year, when he lives with Gunner, after goslings hatch he is allowed to return as a babysitter. This is uncommon but geese and penguins do occasionally have affairs, get divorced, and remarry.
I love this video. I have an American Water Spaniel named Cocopuff & I can't imagine her hanging out with a goose. She would chase it right off the property. So it's very amusing ... love it.

Gunner is about 13 too and he was a rescue so I don't know who bred him. I wish I could be more help.

If the dog killed the goose he would be in big trouble as the goose is a pet and they are obviously pals.

Burt is a pet, divorced from his mate, Jezebel who took up with a wild goose. He is not handling it at all well
