  • YEY WEST VIRGINIA =D but i cant find a tourism video for kentucky and mississippi :( why cant they upload each state's tourism video for the world to see!? :[

  • I swear I tear up every time I watch this video.

  • I live right on the banks of the New River, and I like the fact that WV has a low population. The more it grows, the more you will see our forests taken over by buildings. I hope we stay right where we are.

  • thanks for the touching video. this is another reason i am a wv transplant, made this my home

  • I am a California girl, but every time I visit my sister, who moved to WV more than 30 years ago, I feel immediately at home. The staggering beauty of the state, together with its amazing people, make it a gem beyond words.

  • watch?v=169cjFwj9NA

  • i am from mcdowell county wv,(the last county at the bottom of wv) and there is nothing here and probably never will be but i also have to say that its not about whats here for us to do its about all our family and friends here and all us ridin 4wheelers,dirtbikes,mud boggin, playin and all the old folks playin guitar late at night on there porches, it may not be much to city people but i am never moving away from hom

  • No one appreciates what they have, until it's gone. Sure the thrills are natural like Summersville, the Gauley, or the New. But when you crave the simplicity and natural beauty in a place and in people. WV is where to be. The people are great, some of the best Italian food I've ever had, WVU football games are a blast. If you think WV is boring, then really you are a lazy person looking for something you can enjoy while sitting on your hind-end.

  • pretty video :) I agree with MeBrenie...why be negative. love my state!!!!

  • I have lived all over the East Coast and there is nothing like coming home to West Virginia! West Virginians are the most honest, trustworthy individuals I have ever had the privilege to meet. It truly is a state that is ALMOST HEAVEN. I am proud to be a mountaineer.

  • Well done! Thanks for sharing this.

  • Glad to see Charlie Ryan is still cranking out the corporate bullshit. This one was pretty good, I will concede.

  • @Rickinsf this is a political video

  • I think WV is GREAT! People are working hard to make us number one in alot of those catergories. The civil war reenactments are a part of our heritage, The War was brother against brother and not only here. It's just part of history. Great Video!! There are several other cities such as Lewisburg, Wheeling, Harpers Ferry, Beautiful State Parks, National Forest and just to many to mention that I would like to see as well, in the commercial. Signed Female Artillery Confederate Civil War Reenactor

  • I am originally from WV... I did really enjoy this clip but I must say they are making WV a little more than it actually is... Yes it is a wonderful place but it really is rather dull there. Haha... Especially when you get into the less wealthy towns and cities there (which there a alot of) All in all I really did like this clip. Go West Virginia Mountaineers!! <3

  • Wonderful video, obviously some good sponsors too. It's not about the coal industry either.

I sponsor my own site, and neighbor is not so wonderful because the WV DEP allowing things to occur. GOD has blessed this land but man has issues. I don't want to be negative here, it is an excellent piece.

  • great video!

  • I'm originally from Charleston - it is overall a nice and flattering view of WV, but it would have been nice to have seen a few more quick clips of Charleston, to show people there ARE real "cities" in the State. And maybe I could have lived without the brief clip of the Civil War reenactors (cheesy). Overall though - nice.

  • Finally something that is NOT negative about the coal industry. Thank you!!!!

  • Amen to that!

  • This is not all true! Harrison power station, in Haywood,Wv has almost shut down because they can not sell power.

  • Why is there always someone with a negative attitude when you try to make a positive statement ?? While your comment may be true, this video was produce by THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. The entire nation is going through hard times . A reminder of the overall beauty and positive points of WV is uplifting. Let's not overlook the positive. We need it now more than ever. I'm sorry that your area is having difficulty and pray that things get better for your community, however, WV ROCKS!!

  • Wonderful work on producing and editing this. Shows just part of what can be found around the state.

  • Finally something that shows all of the wonderful sights, industries, and accomplishments of WV vs. being the "fattest" state.

  • How magnificent this small corner of the world, To hold so much beauty. Excellent video.

  • I was born in Marion County, attended high school in South Charleston, graduated from WVU, lived in Wyoming County for 30 and Raleigh County for 16 years. I have visited every one of the 55 counties. I have been living in Ct. for one year. My son and his family are three miles away. I am very happy here, BUT West Virginia will always be my home. My memories of this glorious state provide the background in my mind twenty-four hours a day. Grandmere40

  • I grew up in Ohio but my grandparents and relatives were in WV. My wonderful memories from childhood of WV. Visiting my grandfather who lived on a dirt rural road, walking to the post office to get the mail and a soda pop from the soda machine, walking down to the river and wading across it to sit on "the rock" and listening to the water and enjoying the peace it gave me. Looking out of grandpas house and seeing the Blue Ridge mountains every day. I miss those wonderful days.

  • I think 3:54 is Summers Lake.

I have lived in FL for 23 years but still miss home. Graduated WVU and miss my Mountaineers.

    Just miss it all.

  • You are correct.

  • WV is always home. Always.

  • I have lived here all of my life,so far($& yrs.), and hopefully I'll never have to live anywhere else! Yes, goosebumps, and I do understand what you are talking about. But, I do live here! Wish it would have been John Denver in the background, he did us proud, all those years ago! :)

  • My home! Well, live in NC now and lovin' it. But WV is my home..forever.

  • Can I come and visit from California? I'm really from all over but this is where the car stopped running LOL

  • woohoo!!! WV rocks!

  • I lived in Ohio and Texas and lived in the far east and North Carolina. I now Live in West Virginia for the past 30 years. Yes I came home to my roots. Where I was born where my soul is in the earth, the stream water, the leaves on the trees, the sound of the wind. I could right a book on all the wonderful things that are of my heart and mind about my home town and county and state. But most of you could not understand what I am saying...So I will stop.

  • I think anyone that has lived in WV understands what you are saying.

  • where is 0:17 and 3:54 at?

  • 0:17 is Seneca Rocks

  • Both appear to be a flyover of Seneca Rocks and folks from the climbing school ascending @ 0.17 and summiting @ 3.54. If only you could make that climb in 3 mins 37 seconds!

  • Ditto with the goosebumps, whew!!!!

  • Nice Video!

  • This is why I will always be a West Virginia girl...great video!

  • Things like this make me even more proud to be a West Virginian than I already am. I love my home State. We definitely need more things like this out there. Excellent job!

    Montani semper liberi!

  • Awesome!

  • Well done...

  • Great job! This gave me goosebumps!!

  • feels me with a ridiculous amount of state pride... amazing amazing amazing... this is what we needed
