That's what I thought at first too.

But no, it seems like it's just a coincidence. Believe it or not, the style used in One Piece and Fairy Tail is used alot in Shonen Manga.

No thats just a myth. They have simmilar drawing styles because Akira Toriyama inspired both of them. Toriyama created Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.
