it comes down to the core issue ... why does the US , the only one of the G-8 countrys , not have a general health care programm ?

Bernie Sanders was one of the seven senators who voted for giving millions of our tax dollars to ACORN after ACORN was caught on hidden cameras helping to set up child prostitution rings. Sick sick sick!
Oh come on. ACORN was not caught helping set up a child prostitution ring, a couple of employees were caught being idiots.
Boeing and Lockheed have been cited more than 125 times in the last 10 years for defrauding the federal government for billions of dollars, yet NO ONE on the right complains about sending hundreds of billions of tax dollars thair way.
Defense contractors-lose billions of dollars in ACTUAL fraud.
TBlake34: In one of the ACORN videos, an ACORN worker was caught saying, "Honesty doesn't get you the house." Do you have any idea how many high-risk "liar loans" ACORN assisted low-income people get on houses that they could not afford? The mortgage crisis is real, and ACORN contributed to it.
I can promise you that if you added up all the high-risk loans ACORN helped people get it would be a small fraction of the billions of dollars defense contractors have defrauded the US government, the US taxpayers, for.
Sure, ACORN has people working for them that have behaved badly. They dealt with it by firing those employees.
If you're not going to punish defense contractors that have illegally obtained billions of dollars, then don't bitch about the pocket change ACORN dealt with.
TBlake34: Why do you keep on bringing up the subject of fraud done by defense contractors? I have no problem with making defense contractors accountable for their wrongful actions. Who doesn't?
The LEADERSHIP of ACORN is corrupt. How many people were fired when Dale Rathke embezzled $5 million from ACORN? It takes more than one person to pull that off. Also, ACORN was required to disclose that if any of that $5 million was our tax dollars, and someone should be imprisoned.
First, "who doesn't?" Well, the list is long. It basically includes most of congress, all republicans and quite a few democrats.
The House voted in overwhelming numbers to pull funding from ACORN but voted down a measure to deny government funds to any organization guilty of defrauding the US government. They essentially said, billions of dollars of fraud from defense contractors is fine, less than $1 million of internal embezzlement that was revealed by a whistleblower IN ACORN, bad.
TBlake34: You're comparing apples to oranges. The military can't function without the equipment that those military contractors manufacture. The fraud wasn't "fine" because they paid BILLIONS in fines.
ACORN receives "grants" from the government, and ACORN hasn't used our tax dollars wisely, and that is why Congress is cutting them off.
Also, Dale Rathke embezzled $5 million (NOT $1 million) according to Louisianas attorney general. This was just revealed in the news a few days ago.
If the government began giving contracts to companies that weren't perptrating fraud 30 years ago when the abuses started, those goups wouldn't be so large and essential now. But with the hundreds of billions we give out in contracts, other companies could start up very quickly.
As for ACORN, the NY Times says the amount embezzled was $948,607.50. Rathke stole that money from ACORN, and ACORN whistleblower reported it, and legal action was taken. What other abuse can you name?
TBlake34: The embezzlement happened in 1999-2000, and ACORN attempted to cover it up and keep it internally. Against ACORN's wishes, the whistleblower leaked the story to the public in 2008, and Dale Rathke wasn't terminated until 2008. Since ACORN receives our tax dollars, they are required by law to report large cases of embezzlement to the government, but they failed to do that in 2000. You said that "legal action was taken." Please state the legal action that was taken.
They created a contract to repay the money, that's a legally binding, but you're correct, the way I phrased it wasn't appropriate.
I don't want to defend ACORN in this situation, they behaved badly. The point is, however, that you were perfectly content with fines for defense contractors. What often happens is that those fines get covered by tax$-Boeing is fined $5billion, the next year they ask for $5billion more to do their job. THeir income comes from us, so do their fine payments.
Let me also point out that the less than $1million embezzled by ACORN is going to be paid off internally. The family of the embezzler is covering the cost, they aren't using more tax dollars.
And second, that relatively tiny amount of money caused little damage to the nation. The 2 more common types of defense contractor fraud involve falsely certifying substandard products or substituting substandard products in delivery. AMERICAN TROOPS rely on this stuff, that's a very real danger.
The crux of the matter is that the media should not be allowed to distort reality. News shows should be held to a standard. They took a poll and found that people actually want the truth from News shows. It's a no-brainer! It is now up to our Democratic congress to properly frame the argument and say "ENOUGH! No more distortion! I would call it the HONEST INFORMATION ACT.
I have read the constitution and the 10 amendment says all powers not specifically given to the federal government belong to the states. Look man if you did this sort of stuff on a state wide level ppl could move to the states they want to be in and fewer people would be disenfranchised. In addition the states could adopt different plans and the nation could see which one works and which one doesnt. Look at massechuteses. A state level is just much wiser....
Google the term "Broken Record on Record-Breaking Profits" What source does MSLSD use to demonize insurance? That quote shows more left wing lies. The bills are written so loosely they could end up just like the governmental take over of school loans...remember that started out as a "help" bill and now it just swalled up the private sector there.
@klingoncelt Learn economics and how insurance companies work and then learn how government works.MSLSD sourced their material alright sourced it from Think Progress a George Soros backed group.
What's sad is that a lot of informed Americans against Obama's healthcare proposal have been drowned out by utter morons who are Republican conservatives that believe whatever Rush Limbaugh tells them!! I'm a libertarian! I couldn't care less what that fatass Rush says. Or those idiots in the other groups that arranged protests. I know what the healthcare proposal is about, and I still don't like it. It's 1,000+ pages of nonsense and little real reform. Just more spending and bureaucracy.
Republicans should be barred from speaking, your simply too stupid.
NONE of those idiot protesters are "concerned Americans about their future", they are uninformed jackasses. When old moron Republicans are yelling "take your hands off my medicaire" it shows they know NOTHING about healthcare (here is a hint: Medicare is already government run) and therefore should read a thing or two before commenting.
People holding signs saying "socialist" aren't concerned citizens, they are jokes.
Oh you're right! WE ARE NOT STUPID! That's why it was no secret that Obama wanted universal health care before we voted... and we voted... and he won! The people should not be so fickle! We need healthcare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Because we are not SOCIALIST BERNIE............ we are not PHONY.....we are the AMERICAN PEOPLE......... we don't want to insure illegal ALIENs on the back of Medicare recipients........... WE ARE NOT STUPID LIKE YOU THINK WE ARE BERNIE........
You are a jackass Bernie........ you want the american people to be sheep...... we are not sheep......we do not trust you....... we do not want a socialist nation!
So let me get this straight...if your a concerned citizen questioning a BO's healthcare plan that will put us a trillion in debt then it's a phony town meeting..? And Bernie, believe or not some republicans are for a new health plan but they want it to be something that will work for everyone. In other words...responsible governing!!!
Of course, insurance companies don't wont healthcare reform, they have more to GAIN, it's the people that pay these insurance companies that are LOSING, premiums rising, denied proper care even if you have insurance, Democrats what are you waiting for, REFORM HEALTHCARE NOW!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Bernie your an admited socialist. Stop calling yourself an independant. Stop bringing up Bush. Stop spinning the issue by calling protesters anything other than what they are- concerned about their future and the future of the country. Your a baffoon. I've lived in Vermont and moved because of nuts like yourself. Oberman doesn't report, he just decides. BTW name one country that have better healthcare than the U.S. (1:47) if u find it, I suggest you go there and try it.
Let's see.. Not getting turned down for a life saving operation because you had a yeast infection ten years ago or some other pre existing condition, less wasteful spending (Canada spends less per capita on health care but has much better results), not having one of the worst infant mortalities in the western world, etc
Keith Olberman is like the Jimmy Kimmel News Hour. He is SO funny. I love this unbiased media . .. "The phoney protesters". Sure . . .phoney grey hair too. What a phoney news reporter. I only listen to him when I want a good laugh
fee1776 made a good point. Right now 80% of people are satisfied with their current healthcare. But once the public option goes into effect, companies will discontinue their program and dump them onto the public system. Say goodbye to your doctor and hello to Doctorstrangeglove. Then the rationing starts. And the taxe hike on midde class America, cause no one has figured out how to pay for this. Just look at the CBO estimates.
The CBO puts the price tag for this turkey at 1 trillion dollars. We'd either have to raise taxes or borrow the money to pay for this bill. And most people know the CBO estimate is low. Just listen to the horror stories from other countries who have already tried this? Look at the poor cancer survival rates in those countries. Know that this bill is going to lead to rationing of healthcare and ultimately the bankrupcy of private insurance. You will have no option at that point. Wake up.
In the longer version of this video, Olbermann does his usual mocking of a conservative movement with his half-truths. I'd respect MSNBC a little more if they just admit they're a far-left propoganda network instead of n objective media network they like to appear to be.
is msnbc's slogan "fair and balanced" ? oh wait, that's the other far-right propaganda network fox news. I'd respect them a lot more if they would just admit they are not "fair and balanced" then MAYBE we'll ask msnbc to do the same, even though they don't claim the opposite of what they do like on fox.
Democrats(with the exception of a few) are trying to protect the interests of the insurance and drug companies. They want to pass a mandate which forces everyone to buy auto insurance, while the public option will serve as an incredibly expensive dumping ground for those the insurance companies don't want to provide for.
The entire thing is a scam, and progressives should oppose it regardless of what the tea party people are doing.
Love sanders but he is towing the dem party line here a bit too much. He says once that they're not being effective. Really it's because this is just a 4 minute clip and it's impossible to truly discuss this incredibly complex issue in such a short time. People need to watch the Bill Moyers journals from PBS discussing this to get real info.
Cable news pundit shows(and most cable news really) are a HORRIBLE source of news. Unfortunately Americans rely on them for their info. We are screwed.
I am PREPARED to join the National Guard so I can be in a position to take out the far right loons should they follow through on their threats. Civil War? Well, if THAT'S what it's going to take..
wow. Maybe these protesters should put on black masks and yell anti-capitalists slogans while destroying cars and businesses. Then the left would love them.
Screw you Obberman. Sanders, I think you are the thug in this story. I have never witnessed a mass suicide like the dem party have commited to. You are certainly stuck on stupid.
sanders has more principle than you and the entire Republican and Democratic parties combined. Oh and BTW the latest polling has 37 states leaning in the democratic direction and only 5 leaning Republican
I believe the problem is people who want a private health care plan instead of the public plan would end up paying twice. I have not heard that if you go with private that your not taxed to support the larger public program. I have not read the bill like many people. I would never protest something I knew nothing about.
There are 2 bills HR 3200 is one of them and I would love to see a poll now that people are for any of the bills as the latest polls show now that most DO not even want reform because the dems fucked everything up.
Polls show Americans are split on this while Sanders & his ilk continue to lie bold faced about their support.
Five year survival rates for most types of cancer are higher in the US than any of the single payer nations.
None of the current proposals do anything meaningful to control costs. But the cost of health care is the root of the problem. High insurance premiums are a symptom of skyrocketing costs, not the cause.
These jokers want to spread the problem around, not fix it.
The survival rate statistics aren't correct. In other countries, everyone gets treatment, therefore everyone is counted. In the US, only those victims that can get treatment are counted, those that can't afford it are not, thus skewing the numbers.
By the way, where are these polls that say no one wants the healthcare bill to pass? I'd like to see them for myself.
You're not making a lick of sense. Of course survival rates are based on those treated. Whether or not the US has a large number of cancer victims who are refused treatment has absolutely nothing to do with it. Though I would like to see the numbers. Or did you just make that part up? Point is- people treated for cancer in the US survive longer than those abroad. Funny math won't change it.
I know a guy from Canada paying US doctors to treat his serious illness. So what. Anecdotes are meaningless when working toward the general good. Stay on point. Tell me more about the US cancer survival rate.
And when you asked for polls that say "no one wants the healthcare bill to pass" you put up a lame strawman. I said "polls show Americans are split". You can't see the difference? Google "poll health care". Pay attention to the dates. Get back to me after you're better versed.
Healthcare will pass because big business wants it past. Then at the first opportunity they will dump their workers onto the government and let the taxpayers sort it all out. Statist gets what they ideologically want and big corporations get what they want. Biggest losers will be the taxpayers. If the healthcare reform is so good, why does the bill exempt Congress, Cabinet, Pres, VP and all the politicians from the system?????
people die on waiting lists in canada and europe all day everyday. They do not buy the best drugs and keep them spinning in circles in fact you HAVE to be a certain age in those countries to even get put on a waiting list to be tested! Those countries also bastardize their infant mortality rates and get a 25% moral ethical boost to their scores because they have SOCIALIZED health care on a BIASED scoring system.
HAHA a racist leader of a leftist group (has a CRIMINAL RECORD) cries about race and advertizers pulled away. MSNBC now lost a few as well LOL and will lose more over their race stunt a couple days ago. Canada's healthcare system is BAD thousands yearly go to Buffalo NY to get health care because they have a 2 to 3 year wait just to win a doctor lottery not only are they bad but both systems are UNSISTAINABLE Canada is almost broke because of HEALTH CARE.
The Brits are not far behind as their economies are actually worse than ours, why? you centralize too much you lump together moneythat gets wasted. Just like the companies that are "too big to fail" when government gets that big the country is beyond fucked.
Tubachild, everyone knows that you're a liar. Everyone knows that you can't verify a single statement that you made, not one, and you've made lots of claims. Everyone knows that it's you giving me the thumbs down, too.
I will be coming to visit your page, assuming that Youtube doesn't shut it down because you're a troll, a few months from now to see how you're doing with the health care bill enacted.
If one side has million upon millions who actually watch him/listen to him how do you think it will stack up against maybe 100k people crying foul over opinion. 50% at least claim to be conservitive in EVERY state Including NY and Cali where as only 20% claim to be liberal...source Gallup this week!
Somehow I envision you in a cubicle, Brooks Brothers suit clad, spending 8-10 hours a day, garnering wages and 'gathering up the tears, have you had enough of mine?"
Oops, sorry. Listening to Steely Dan.
I'm reeling in the years, and literally fighting for my life here.
I know...boohoo.
But, the question was, Whose business ethics do you support? The likes of Ken Lay? Or, someone more like Muhammad Yanus (google him)?
Which do you believe? Power to the people or power to the government and trial lawyers? Head of the DNC Howard Dean already admitted the DNC will waist 60 to 200+++billion yearly because they fear lawyers in regards to tort reform..that will pay for this if they could do TORT REFORM. Hell it would out right lower costs in itself!.
@LechoZX Had direct access as an advisor to the president/presidents administration. He was also let go for the very reason you are trying to deny.....of course if we had it your way it would be swept under the rug so it would never have been an issue. Simple fact is that in itself was just as corrupt as anything moveon.org ever tried to pin Bush on with "big oil" LOL
@tubaboy71 What are you even talking about? Obviously you have some agenda because I have not brought up any of those items. All I'm saying is you are factually incorrect because somebody who is not part of the executive branch of government can not be covered as part of a presidential administration. If the president appoints a senator to be on a special advisory committee does that mean that person is part of the legislative and executive branch? It's not possible by definition, sorry.
syc⋅o⋅phant [sik-uh-fuhnt, -fant, sahy-kuh-] Show IPA

a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite.
Looks as if the only sycophant is Keith "dorky ars" Olberman. The doosh bag that only seems to know what Obama says and nothing else. Good job having a Communist on your show to rebut conservatives....
MSNBC is not a news channel They are the OBAMA'S official advertisers and groupies They have lost power over the people who don't believe them anymore They must have a very sad life
THIS IS SO WRONG! Those people were not paid, they are frustrated because their voices are not being heard and also... the majority of people do NOT want national health care!!!
reading a few of these commentsshows that not too many people on both sides of the bill know too much about it. lets all do some research before we have little debates.
Since when are the citizens reading every single bill that goes through Congress? It's the job of our elected leaders to do that. If each citizen had to read, discuss, and vote on every bill that came along, the Bill of Rights would still be awaiting ratification!
Everything these two sacks are saying is HORSE SH$^*%T. Why are all of the other countries drawing back their HC systems for lack of money. SPEAK THE TRUTH YOU ASSH*&%S
These comments prove that people have little clue as regards exactly what this plan IS. If you already HAVE health insurance, you don't have to participate in a national program - you can keep what you have! Easy peasy.
Secondly, please READ the bill and stop getting your info, rather MISinformation from TV talking heads. There is NO provision that will 'kill off old people' and other sorts of rubbish perpetrated by the health insurance COMPANIES themselves.
Hey MeMe you need to read page 16 of the bill it is designed to systamaticly force almost everyone into the fed plan. the gole of the dems as always is CONTROLE through a overbaring beuracracy. are you realy stupid enough to think that the government will NOT destroy every thing that is good about our exysting system? what have they ever done that runs well and stays on budget? what has the fed ever done that delivers what it promised? YOU need to reed the bill.
ya dispite my dyslexia i under stand every thing i read very well and I am very firm in my beliefs, the fact that you decide to ridicule my disability instead of debating the FACTS tells me you just a liberal coward, void of any real spine or inteluctual facts.
I'm severely dyslexic. I have this little trick I use - it's called proofreading. Obviously your insurance isn't very good or you would have been able to get remedial therapy for the condition.
Gunny but what if you get sick and your healthcare decides your condition is not insurable as you are dying. Is that better because Republicans told you so?
If you read the bill, if this passes that decision isn't yours, or your doctors, that decision would be to some beurocratic office to decide if they want to pay to save your life.
Mojdfiv, how is that at all different than what private insurance is doing right now?
I have Blue Cross, one of the best, and I can only choose whatever doctors and hospitals are on their list. They don't pay most emergency room fees and they don't cover most x-rays and imaging.
For this idiot to claim it is "astroturf and bought and paid" rallies would be an astrological ammount to be paid out since MORE THAN HALF the people do not want either bill from the house or senate. Every poll shows double digit rejection.
Bull shit, you are looking at a "does healthcare need reformed poll" does not just mean those 2 bills. Big business is in bed with Obama.Wal-mart, having lunches with CEO's and secret meetings healthcare execs. Thanks for being a drone. Also it would be a myth to think Obama could spend as much as he says....we simply do not have the money.
Okay, let's try this: How many people here viewing have private health care? For those that do, have you ever been rejected because of a preexisting condition? Have your rates ever gone up? Have you ever been dropped for no reason? Are there things that your insurance company won't pay for?
If you've answered yes to the first question, then you'll be answering yes to the rest of them as long as big business runs your healthcare. How could the government do any worse?
How are you going to cover everyone and do it on the cheap? You can't unless milk and honey become the cure all. This would eventually lead to over 50% of all of our income going to government that cant run anything. Canada and England are hurting all over. When a centralized government controls so much when it is hurting it hurts everyone worse than even what we are going through now. Besides that Obama and the dems are lying like no other government i have witnessed. Unions, lawyers, ACORN
are all in the "Obama" grassroots and the dems being in power and trying to push this through would DESTROY their party. 15-21% oppose these bills nationwide than who are for it according to every poll out there. Those who dislike it REALLY dislike it. Between this and Cap and Trade all we could hope for is a president/congress who would shelf these things or would sell off the public option to the private sector. As they are all unconstitutional.
Unconstitutional? What? That doesn't make sense at all.
Here's something that IS Constitutional - majority rule. The majority voted the Democrats in, the Democrats make the rules. The majority are okay with this. The minority must accept their loss and get on with their lives instead of wasting energy on losing battles.
No where in the constitution does it give congress or the president the power to take over healthcare. Oh, I know, not a take over. Tell me that a year or so after the government undercuts insurance companies to the point that they go out of business. Or when companies dont want to deal with providing a plan and they dump employees in the government plan.
Nope but forcing people into healthcare is a constitutional issue....Same way SS, medicare and medicaid which is why they are run like shit and bankrupt LOL
no court has found SS, medicare and medicaid unconstiutional. Also according to polling of people who have actually experienced medicare compared to those under the private insurance, medicare had the better ratings. It has much lower administrative costs too.
bull crap, stop trying to bastardize this country! If it were how you said why did it take them 200+ years to do it? Other countries went into the system due to population rationing and rationing from WWII.
majority rule does not make it constitutional dumb ass and the constitution is not a living breathing document either asshat. Liberals bash the bible yet think a old sheet of paper lives.....
That is because bible thumpers want to turn this country into a christian therocracy. FIrst admendment says government shall not establish a reglion. We are a secular nation not a chrsitian nation. We respect all reglions and those who want not reglion. That is what secular means.
Thats called a democracy but the united states was a republic because democracy is the tyranny of the majority. Its called states rights this is an abuse of the federal government. If you want state run healthcare pick a state and do it on that level. Two states have tried to do it and they almost bankrupted the state.
majority of the country HATES both bills and in fact 10% more now do not even want reform because they see how the dems are wrecking shit like they always do.
No insurance company made 150% profit. Total % of insurance profit would usually fall between 3-5% NOT 150%. Just imagine what all those pre existing conditions would do to your tax dollars..talk about over charge much.....I can plainly see you do not deal in reality at all LOL
well

If you want to find out the cause of the problem and how to solve it - look at this video from Peter Schiff:

TBlake34: The embezzlement happened in 1999-2000, and ACORN attempted to cover it up and keep it internally. Against ACORN's wishes, the whistleblower leaked the story to the public in 2008, and Dale Rathke wasn't terminated until 2008. Since ACORN receives our tax dollars, they are required by law to report large cases of embezzlement to the government, but they failed to do that in 2000. You said that "legal action was taken." Please state the legal action that was taken.
TranCendenZ 2 years ago
They created a contract to repay the money, that's a legally binding, but you're correct, the way I phrased it wasn't appropriate.
I don't want to defend ACORN in this situation, they behaved badly. The point is, however, that you were perfectly content with fines for defense contractors. What often happens is that those fines get covered by tax$-Boeing is fined $5billion, the next year they ask for $5billion more to do their job. THeir income comes from us, so do their fine payments.
TBlake34 2 years ago
Let me also point out that the less than $1million embezzled by ACORN is going to be paid off internally. The family of the embezzler is covering the cost, they aren't using more tax dollars.
And second, that relatively tiny amount of money caused little damage to the nation. The 2 more common types of defense contractor fraud involve falsely certifying substandard products or substituting substandard products in delivery. AMERICAN TROOPS rely on this stuff, that's a very real danger.
TBlake34 2 years ago

Just more spending and bureaucracy.

fee1776 made a good point.
CuriousMind0 2 years ago
The CBO puts the price tag for this turkey at 1 trillion dollars. We'd either have to raise taxes or borrow the money to pay for this bill. And most people know the CBO estimate is low. Just listen to the horror stories from other countries who have already tried this? Look at the poor cancer survival rates in those countries. Know that this bill is going to lead to rationing of healthcare and ultimately the bankrupcy of private insurance. You will have no option at that point. Wake up.

There are 2 bills HR 3200 is one of them and I would love to see a poll now that people are for any of the bills as the latest polls show now that most DO not even want reform because the dems fucked everything up.
tubaboy71 2 years ago
Polls show Americans are split on this while Sanders & his ilk continue to lie bold faced about their support.
Five year survival rates for most types of cancer are higher in the US than any of the single payer nations.
None of the current proposals do anything meaningful to control costs. But the cost of health care is the root of the problem. High insurance premiums are a symptom of skyrocketing costs, not the cause.
These jokers want to spread the problem around, not fix it.
EdgerHumphrey 2 years ago
The survival rate statistics aren't correct. In other countries, everyone gets treatment, therefore everyone is counted. In the US, only those victims that can get treatment are counted, those that can't afford it are not, thus skewing the numbers.
By the way, where are these polls that say no one wants the healthcare bill to pass? I'd like to see them for myself.
Or did you just make them up?
klingoncelt 2 years ago
You're not making a lick of sense. Of course survival rates are based on those treated. Whether or not the US has a large number of cancer victims who are refused treatment has absolutely nothing to do with it. Though I would like to see the numbers. Or did you just make that part up? Point is- people treated for cancer in the US survive longer than those abroad. Funny math won't change it.
EdgerHumphrey 2 years ago
They refused treatment?!
You jerk. I know a woman that died because she had no insurance. The doc said she had to pay $30,000 up front - more than she made in a year.
Then there's the 5-year-old that died from an operable brain tumor. His mom couldn't pay what the doc wanted and she couldn't afford insurance.
A five-year-old.
It wasn't easy, he suffered horrible migraines, then he went blind.
You think his mom CHOSE that?
klingoncelt 2 years ago
I know a guy from Canada paying US doctors to treat his serious illness. So what. Anecdotes are meaningless when working toward the general good. Stay on point. Tell me more about the US cancer survival rate.
And when you asked for polls that say "no one wants the healthcare bill to pass" you put up a lame strawman. I said "polls show Americans are split". You can't see the difference? Google "poll health care". Pay attention to the dates. Get back to me after you're better versed.
EdgerHumphrey 2 years ago
Of course they're split - when has anything been unanimous in this country?
The polls are all over the place depending on which ones you read, and I read a lot.
It doesn't matter. We can argue forever, but Congress has already made up their minds. The healthcare bill will pass.
klingoncelt 2 years ago
Healthcare will pass because big business wants it past. Then at the first opportunity they will dump their workers onto the government and let the taxpayers sort it all out. Statist gets what they ideologically want and big corporations get what they want. Biggest losers will be the taxpayers. If the healthcare reform is so good, why does the bill exempt Congress, Cabinet, Pres, VP and all the politicians from the system?????
fee1776 2 years ago
people die on waiting lists in canada and europe all day everyday.

If you've answered yes to the first question, then you'll be answering yes to the rest of them as long as big business runs your healthcare. How could the government do any worse?

are all in the "Obama" grassroots and the dems being in power and trying to push this through would DESTROY their party.

Let it go.

No where in the constitution does it give congress or the president the power to take over healthcare. Oh, I know, not a take over. Tell me that a year or so after the government undercuts insurance companies to the point that they go out of business. Or when companies dont want to deal with providing a plan and they dump employees in the government plan.

Nowhere in the Constitution is healthcare mentioned at all.
You know wwhat? There's no mention of computers in the Constitution, either. That means the interwebz are unconstitutional!!!!!!!
klingoncelt 2 years ago
Nope but forcing people into healthcare is a constitutional issue....Same way SS, medicare and medicaid which is why they are run like shit and bankrupt LOL
tubaboy71 2 years ago
no court has found SS, medicare and medicaid unconstiutional. Also according to polling of people who have actually experienced medicare compared to those under the private insurance, medicare had the better ratings. It has much lower administrative costs too.

Oh? Funny FDR didn't have an easy time getting SS inplace LOL

bull crap, stop trying to bastardize this country! If it were how you said why did it take them 200+ years to do it? Other countries went into the system due to population rationing and rationing from WWII.

Intewrebz is freedom of speech first admendment.

computers and interebz fall under the first admendment
imaginepeace63 2 years ago
They're international, so the First Amendment would only directly apply to domestic sites not regulated by private hosts.

majority rule does not make it constitutional dumb ass and the constitution is not a living breathing document either asshat. Liberals bash the bible yet think a old sheet of paper lives.....
tubaboy71 2 years ago
Not only that, but they also ban the same thing it was written on!
ed2kou1 2 years ago
That is because bible thumpers want to turn this country into a christian therocracy. FIrst admendment says government shall not establish a reglion. We are a secular nation not a chrsitian nation. We respect all reglions and those who want not reglion. That is what secular means.

Where did this come from and idiot left wing talking point show?
tubaboy71 2 years ago
Thats called a democracy but the united states was a republic because democracy is the tyranny of the majority. Its called states rights this is an abuse of the federal government. If you want state run healthcare pick a state and do it on that level. Two states have tried to do it and they almost bankrupted the state.
bukakkesake 2 years ago
WHo is making the town hall meetings a mob rule. Not the majority I can tell you that.
biguy617 2 years ago
majority of the country HATES both bills and in fact 10% more now do not even want reform because they see how the dems are wrecking shit like they always do.
tubaboy71 2 years ago
You're saying the Bushreich was more honest? Take my hand, Tubaboy, come away from the Dark Side.
And universal health care is extremely popular in the countries that have it. Every country has it but the US.
I don't know where you get your numbers from, but they're innacurate. Private insurance companies made 150% profit this year. Overpay much?
You have the right to keep overpaying if you like. I'm sure your insurance provider will be happy to overcharge you for limited service.
klingoncelt 2 years ago
No insurance company made 150% profit. Total % of insurance profit would usually fall between 3-5% NOT 150%. Just imagine what all those pre existing conditions would do to your tax dollars..talk about over charge much.....I can plainly see you do not deal in reality at all LOL
tubaboy71 2 years ago
No, they did. 155%, actually. Look up their quarterly reports instead of blindly naysaying.
Seriously, if you people want to argue, will you at least research first? Jeez.
klingoncelt 2 years ago
Actually I did..top proffiting healthcare insurance company I could find was 5.6%...dumbass
tubaboy71 2 years ago
United Health Care shows 155% profit for the quarter ending June 30th. Please look it up, it's easy to find.
