  • Haha yea I know what u mean I've lost a camera and a few other stuff too...Ima try to find that mini tripod at the dollar tree today.

  • Hey bud great idea...I was wondering is it sturdy enough to not break off when you cast?

  • @TieOneOnFishingProd Thanks friend! I usually make sure I've got a good grip on it when I make a cast... I've lost waaaay to much stuff in the water over the years, lol.

  • Very cool ideas, thanks for passing them along

  • @nchiker1971 No problem at all Eric... my pleasure. Thanks for the kind words Brother.

  • Great tips. Thanks for sharing.

  • That's a great idea. I'm going to do that too!

  • Thanks for putting out the vid

  • Appreciate your time in creating this video. Best from Alabama. AI4QT

  • I like the ideas you've shown here. Great stuff. I've been using my one dollar tripod from the dollar store for half a year. It works adequetly and is only 1 oz. A big improvement over my older 7 oz item. And the idea for camera stablization sounds like it would work well, too. Thnaks again for some good ideas. Always a pleasure.

  • Great ideas and options John! Your fishing rod mount idea (I'll see if my real StickPic will fit) should come in handy for a few salmon I hope to land when they run in September : ) Will definately use the string. (Trying to catch up on your vids - sorry).

  • Great video! Keep up the good work.

  • Nice job bro ! I have been using a device called the Ultra-Pod. It is a small folding tripod with velcro attached to it. Thanks,

  • They come in handy like the hat mount a made after seeing others use.

  • awesome video. like the fishing pole addition. the flexible tripod i really want. i will be trying out the string trick. i think you did a better job than i did showing the stick pick. thanks for the shout out. it would be cool if you put this as a vid response to mine. i think it would give my veiwers a better look at the use of it. thanks.

  • @FixedByDoc Thanks alot Doc! My pleasure on the "shout-out" btw... your videos rock! Love the innovations that you come up with. It's always cool to see other people who are constantly on the look out to improve what they can.

P.S. I bought several of those flexible tripods in case they went out of stock... be glad to send one your way if you'd like :-)

  • @intenseangler that would be awesome.

  • cool tip with the string.

  • The fishing pole mount sounds great. Say I have an idea I want to run by you, but I need to work out a couple details first, watch for a message in a couple of days.

  • @oregonmikes Ok... I'm officially intrigued! lol I'll definitely be keeping an eye on my in-box for the message. Take care buddy!

  • I don’t know what it is about Red Wing Blackbirds but I do love to hear them. Noticed them in the background of your video.

Your creativity is pretty neat and your DIY self-photo device works. It even has some cool attachment options that a StickPic does not have, however… having owned and used the original StickPic for a couple of years now I can honestly say, for those of us who use trekking poles, nothing beats the ease of use and convenience of the real StickPic.

  • ingenious idea my friend, and cheap. I picked up one of those sticpicks and its ok; probably same shots as this one you have here. Thanks for sharing video, and thumbs up.

  • Sorry, you were wrong:

"Best video of the year prize" goes not to me, but to yourself!!

Man, these are some ingenious tricks and tips - really cool!

  • If it wasn't for creative thinkers like intenseangler and sharing his ideas, we would still be taking pictures and videos at arms length. Intenseangler's StickPIc on a fishing rod.....It's one of those " I wish I had thought of that! ideas.

  • @rodjava That's the ultimate compliment coming from you Rod... thanks! Still gotta give full credit to you though... without your invention these variations that we come up with wouldn't even be a thought. Also, wanted to give full credit to the man that turned me on to the StickPic in the first place... Dave (dmacken11) has always promoted the StickPic in his awesome outdoor adventures. He's a good man and a good friend (and I'd have to say he's probably your #1 fan hehe). Thanks again!

  • @BoneWoodsOutdoors That's brilliant! Never thought of attaching it to a tree stand... you should be able to get some awesome shots like that. Gonna have to borrow that one to try myself if ya don't mind. Thanks for the comment Bro!

  • I have to say I do like your DIY stick pic but... I think each one has it's uses. I like the original stick pick because I am a trekking pole user. The main reason is I can attach it and take it off quickly as I stop to film for a few minutes then pull it off to continue to hike using the pole again. No screw driver needed. I like yours because it looks like it holds firm to other things like your rod. I actually wanted to send you a stickpic in the goodies I sent you. Rod has a great product.

  • @dmacken11 Hey there my Brother... was starting to think you got lost out in The Gorge ;-)

I gotta agree with you, the original Stick Pic is an awesome product.... you know me though, gotta do my best at hacking up all good products lol. This one seems to work good so far... I was really excited when I thought of attaching it to my fishing pole... should be able to get some great footage when I'm out alone now. Btw, that package should be in the mail soon... had to add a little somethin' ;-)

  • @intenseangler The short bit of video with your DIY camera holder attached to the fishing pole did look very interesting. Can't wait to see some footage with a fish on. Really nice idea. Glad to see Rod chimed in on your video too. He's a great guy with a great product. He's been very helpful to me and a couple other guys here.

So it's time to exchange packages again is it? ;-) I'll have to start looking around to see what I've got here for ya. LOL

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • @MiWilderness No problem at all my friend! That's what we're all here for right? Take the best care!

  • Great DIY StickPic!

I should know, I'm the actual StickPIc inventor. Really I am.

We have always encouraged other people to make their own StickPic if possible.

Your idea of attaching the StickPic to your fishing pole is a great idea! Thanks for sharing your DIY ideas and for your compliments on the original StickPIc!

  • @rodjava Hey there Rod... so you're the man that came up with this brilliant idea huh, how cool is that! It's a pleasure to "meet" you. I'm so glad to hear that you don't mind us DIYers doing these homemade versions... it really does help out those of us on a budget. I haven't gotten a chance to annotate the video yet, but I intend to put in a link to your website if you don't mind. Thanks for the kind words, and thanks again for the awesome product! Take the best care friend.....

  • great ideas...thanks for sharing!!!

  • @ridebks My pleasure Brother... just passing along info :-) Thanks for the kind words.

  • Love it...great job....liked it...

  • @fishnman1000 Thanks for the compliment and "like" my friend! Btw, keep up the great videos... I'm really enjoying your stuff!

  • That was great bro! Great presentation of more options :o) I thought that string stabalization idea was very cool. "LIKE" :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Thanks Brother! And thanks for the thumbs up too :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @RichTheRidgeHunter Hey there Rich.... your original comment was removed for some reason, but your question was what camera do I use? I just use an inexpensive Insignia Flip Cam. Really need to step up in quality soon... but I'm surprised at how well that little camera has done all things considered! The silver camera in the video was just for a "prop"... it's one of those $30 dollar Walmart specials. I keep it in my EDC stuff just in case. Thanks for watching and commenting Brother!
