@pureawesomeness2012 He was told to go and kill them by a god in order to save the love of his life and atone for his sins, not exactly fun when they could just step on you and kill you.
I work in the film industry and I couldn't help but notice that Part 1 and 2 are separate plays. It's a curse for me to notice it I guess. Why did you need to separate clips? Why didn't you add the cut scene at the end either?
@Fuzzyfoot88 It was the very first one I captured. At that time I could not manage to keep pcsx2 from crashing after like 5 mins of recording... And when I thought about making a new one later, well, the vdeo already had a lot of views... so I left it this way
I love taking my time when it came to this. Such an epic game of unreal proportion. I enjoyed it, this guy enjoyed it, and everyone should enjoy it. Haven't seen a game this well thought out in forever.
What are the snakey, ribbon things that knock him out every time he kills a colossus? Is it a spoiler if you tell me? If so, nevermind. I only played about half of this game awhile ago, loved it, but had to stop because it wasn't my game, and I had to leave the owner's house. I got up to the sand snake colossus. The desert turtle was fucking hard!
could you explain the steps to get the emulator and then the game? I have the ps2 version but i also have a 1080p computer and this looks a lot better
Very nice! Are there any games that you can't bump up to this quality level? Such as ZOE: The 2nd Runner? It would be pretty impressive to see that running in high-res and smooth like this.
hmm now im on xp sp3 , coz my vista brokened , dunno why this game is so slow for me , specs quade , q6600 2.4 , 4gb ddr2(3.2 xp) , hd 4850 , meybe coz im runing it on dx9 , tell me do i get more "boost" on 7 ? coz im whant to instal it as second win enyway , and witch version of 7 would be good to my specs , i know im noob :S and 1 more noobish question how u oc cpu coz i wanna try it once :S
sry 4 double comment something messed with my ff , i get little boost by installing latest dx9 and ati driver and its also deal with black bar with other (faster) gsdx plugin :O well i will try oc anyway , time to googling hard =]
It's a crime to use that cpu at its stock speed. Get into overclocking a bit. Get to at least 3.5 ghz, it's not that big o' deal. And you need if you want to play this game fairly smoothly.
Use the pcsx2 + gsdx compilation I've sent you in pm.
There's also a text file explaining how to set up.
You would need just a little extra, like 3.6 gHz would be enough to run with only level 1 VU cycle stealing wich would give a smooth framerate, but With 3.2.. you would need level 2 cycle steealing... It will run but your framerate will be low.
uuh, nope... Nope, the game will be rendered at 640 x 448 with progressive scan enabled. What you see in this video was rendered at 4x multiple of that, 2560 x 1792.
Your framerate won't be as smooth on a real ps2 either...
The project improves pretty fast. I never would have beleived a year ago that all this will ever be possible... I guess one thing will nevert change, that it needs a lot of horsepower xD
Wow nice. But can you please post your Settings for me. like the speedhacks and EE/IOP option etc. to get this nice smooth gameplay, or OCing CPU to 3.8GHz+ will do the job? and what is your PC specs please.
The less EE cycle and VU cycle speedhacks you use, the smoother your framerate will be. There is no cpu and gpu power as we speak that could run tihs game without any speedhcaks. I have to use Vu cycle stealing's first level, that's enough to grant full speed all the time. My specs : Core i7 920 at 4.24 gHz (you don't really need an i7 for the job, but more and more mhz...) with an overclocked GTX 285 (wich acutally performs better than a 295, cause 295 is a multi-gpu solution.).
But for some reason, in later gsdx revisons, although the option is still avalilable, its result changed. The layers got out of their playce again, no matter what. I found that the latest gsdx revision that worked correctly is : gsdx-r2406.
There are pixel offset issues in the game, resulting in incorrectly aligned layers of the graphics, and someitmes such errors that you speak of. To fix this, the gsdx creators implemented a new feature for running the games in an exact mulitple of the native res, wich USED TO result in perfect alignment of all the layers.
Actually, the trick is that anyone could make this vid : D because pcsx2 has a built-in capture feature, wich only captures all of the rendered frames and audio, so your playback will be perfect no matter how slow it was in real time when you recorded...
BUT that doesn't mean I do not play at such resolution and framerate with full seed ;-)
wow thanks! your specs are insaane...haha. I've never seen anyone OC their CPU to 4.00+ gHz.
My specs:
Intel core 2 duo e7500 2.93 gHz
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1GB
Win7 64 bit
Well, now I know I can at least run it, the question is how well it will be able to run lol. I've been thinking of overclocking my CPU but I'm unknowledgeable of how to do it. Im also using a somewhat cheap mobo which im not too sure can be good to OC the cpu hehe
You can learn the art of OCing with google, the first thing you would need is a good heatsink and a good fan(s) with it.
Also, you would get better performance with a 32 bit operating system, for 98 % of all the apllications and games, including pcsx2. ESPECIALLY with specs such as yours. Don't go 64 bit, people. It's simply noobness.
Very very nice man. 480p mode helps make it true 1080p when you change the internal res. Kudos for posting this awesome vid the game looks incredible.
No i mean some ps2 games have 480p option. When you use 480p mode on pcsx2 and then let it go 1080p it will look much better 100% (no shaky screen or scanlines) It will be true 1080p and not a hybrid between 1080p and 1080i. So in short it looks better then if u werent to pick the 480p option.
There are actually several graphical layers and effects that are disabled not just only in prog. scan mode, but in interlaced mode too.

Wait, I forgott to answer your question : D
What you would need to run this game DECENTLY on a PC:
Two cores of CPU are enough, but they need to be overclocked to at least 3.8, optimally even more. It's not a miricale to achive, really.
4 GB of RAM, (3gb in case of an i7 architecture)
32 bit win7, 64 bit is not a winning option in the present. Not for gaming.
A directx10 compatible graphics card. Not a brutally good one, something like a 8800gt would do fine, I think...
