this cartoon of spiderman is good , but they got some of the story wrong , some of the stuff is made up , and they made the mistake of not killing some of the villians or putting some away , thats why after a while to many villians makes this cartoon stupid . . . the orginal cartoon will always be the best =] but its nice to see new versions of spiderman hopefully the new spiderman with drake bell will be better

He doesn't want Aunt May to get caught up in it, seeing how she has nothing to do with his vendetta against Spidey.

90s is better? That chunky, uncoordinated, unrealistic, embarrassing to watch excuse for a Spidey series doesn't even touch Spectacular.
It only has art over Spectacular, and that's if you ignore the fact that Spectacular has far more fluid action, and that the art grows on you, and that the art has improved yet retained its fluidity, and that Amazing's art could be very lazy at times.
Well, my prob with this series is how it failed to follow the comics the way 90's did. Take Venom for example, he hated Spiderman for humiliating him and wanted revenge. He played mindgames with parker but never actually tried to kill gwen or MJ because he had honor. He wasnt just some green goblin ripoff. The 90's pulled off Venom flawlessly.
Now look at THIS portralyle of Venom, he and Parker are *ahem*..."bros" and the only reason he hates Peter is cause he was irresponsible. Hes totally 1 dimensional with no honor, working for Tombstone and trying to kill gwen. This isnt Venom!! This is ultimate Venom, who was a ripoff of harry. Luckily, they can hide this by dazzling us with fight scenes. This show is so far from the comics how it was considered better then the 90's just sickens me.
Okay, first off, 90's barely followed the comics, and if they did it was done so terribly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chameleon never had that shitty transformation belt in the old comics, did he? And Mysterio's holo-cubes were horrible. His portrayal in this series was far better. And the supposed Gwen death scene was terrible. And when they were following the old comics, they were doing so badly. Spectacular uses the series that illustrated the scenario best.
"90's barely followed the comics and it was done terribly." Atleast they made the attempt. This one just throws the comics out the window and writes what THEY want. "Mysterio's portrayal in this series was better." HES A JOKE IN THIS SERIES!! Mysterio's had the misfortune of being reduced to loser status not only in cartoons but in comics also. The 90's series actually gave Mysterio the seriousness and cunning the character rightfully deserved. This one is a revival of his loser persona.
Okay, them doing the comic's interpretation terribly is better than the fact that Spectacular uses the old comics as a foundation and improves? That's just being biased. And this Mysterio is more cunning than the 90's seeing how he managed to escape capture from Spider Man.

Venom looks like something off of "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." His tounge and teeth fail to make him scary. The mouth on his stomach was "almost" scary though. I swear, he'd make an excellent teddy bear. This is by far the second worst Venom ever, with SM3 Venom being the worst.
Seeing as no interpretation of Venom was actually ever scary to me, I'm just going to say that his design isn't scary or cute, I'm apathetic towards it.
Well I found the comicbook Venom and the 90's Venom somewhat intimidating not just because of his physical design but also because of how twisted he was mentally. In this series they capture it with sufficient dialog, in the 90's it sounded like something right out of a comicbook. But the main difference was Hank Azaria(Venom's VA in 90's show) who captured Venom's attitude so well it was like he WAS Venom.
and the way they changed some of the villains origins , who fuckin cares it doesnt have to be exactly like comicbooks in every single way . i like shocker better as country,

First off all, I happen to have mixed feelings about this show. Sometimes its awesome, sometimes it sux. My point is the 90's was better cause it followed the comics better (not 100% but better). In my opinion the 90's was better. Does that mean Spectacular Spiderman is garbage? No. Its just not as good. The only reason I'm "complaining" is to prove that this series isn't the "holly grail" of Spiderman like everyones been saying it is. Its a decent show but thats about it.

Reasons why i hate this venom: he is now a bad guy, he works for a crime boss, his arms are bigger than his entire body, his body in general is deformed looking, he tries to hard to act like the previous venom in the 90's series, and his voice is fucking annoying.

90s is better? That chunky, uncoordinated, unrealistic, embarrassing to watch excuse for a Spidey series doesn't even touch Spectacular.
It only has art over Spectacular, and that's if you ignore the fact that Spectacular has far more fluid action, and that the art grows on you, and that the art has improved yet retained its fluidity, and that Amazing's art could be very lazy at times.

Well, my prob with this series is how it failed to follow the comics the way 90's did. Take Venom for example, he hated Spiderman for humiliating him and wanted revenge. He played mindgames with parker but never actually tried to kill gwen or MJ because he had honor. He wasnt just some green goblin ripoff. The 90's pulled off Venom flawlessly.

Now look at THIS portralyle of Venom, he and Parker are *ahem*..."bros" and the only reason he hates Peter is cause he was irresponsible. Hes totally 1 dimensional with no honor, working for Tombstone and trying to kill gwen. This isnt Venom!! This is ultimate Venom, who was a ripoff of harry. Luckily, they can hide this by dazzling us with fight scenes. This show is so far from the comics how it was considered better then the 90's just sickens me.

Okay, first off, 90's barely followed the comics, and if they did it was done so terribly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chameleon never had that shitty transformation belt in the old comics, did he? And Mysterio's holo-cubes were horrible. His portrayal in this series was far better. And the supposed Gwen death scene was terrible. And when they were following the old comics, they were doing so badly. Spectacular uses the series that illustrated the scenario best.

"Mysterio's portrayal in this series was better." HES A JOKE IN THIS SERIES!! Mysterio's had the misfortune of being reduced to loser status not only in cartoons but in comics also. The 90's series actually gave Mysterio the seriousness and cunning the character rightfully deserved. This one is a revival of his loser persona.

Every now and then there changes to the comic are actually for the better. But in general they mostly suck.
Good Examples:
.Green Goblin-I never really took Goblin seriously in the 90's cartoon but in TSSM I do. How he uses his gadgets is awesome.
.MJ-She is just an awesome character and 1 of the most unique love interests I've seen.
.Electro-A good an necesary decision. An upgrade from the comics.

1-Hes honorless, like I mentioned. In the comix he and Spidey teamed up to beat Carnage. WELL YOU CAN KISS THAT TEAMUP GOODBYE!!! Brock will most likely team up WITH Carnage.

4-His VA sux! The dialog isnt as threatning as the 90's show but it was close enough. The VA cant make Venom sound threatning to save his life! His voice actually sounds like hes bi-curious!!!

Venom looks like something off of "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." His tounge and teeth fail to make him scary. The mouth on his stomach was "almost" scary though. I swear, he'd make an excellent teddy bear. This is by far the second worst Venom ever, with SM3 Venom being the worst.

Well I found the comicbook Venom and the 90's Venom somewhat intimidating not just because of his physical design but also because of how twisted he was mentally. In this series they capture it with sufficient dialog, in the 90's it sounded like something right out of a comicbook. But the main difference was Hank Azaria(Venom's VA in 90's show) who captured Venom's attitude so well it was like he WAS Venom.

First off all, I happen to have mixed feelings about this show. Sometimes its awesome, sometimes it sux. My point is the 90's was better cause it followed the comics better (not 100% but better). In my opinion the 90's was better. Does that mean Spectacular Spiderman is garbage? No. Its just not as good. The only reason I'm "complaining" is to prove that this series isn't the "holly grail" of Spiderman like everyones been saying it is. Its a decent show but thats about it.
