  • Did you put in heavy duty head studs with the 426?

  • @island400ex i have mine bored to a 426 too with a wiseco pop up piston, high retention valves springs and larger diameter titanium valves stage 2 hotcams ported and polished jetted 2 grades bigger with a k&n powerlid and uni air filter and when i had it bored out the mecanic told me that with the 426 its not really necessary but with the 440 or a stroker connecting rod or crank you should...its not very expensive but it will save you a bunch of trouble

  • @tibbracing1 HD head studs have everything to do with a high compression piston and nothing to do with bore size. You can have a stock bore with high compression and the HD head studs would be much more reliable and needed. Probably anything 11:1 and higher

    Im pretty sure he just cut the fenders himself. Its pretty easy you can find tutorials all over the net on how to do it properly.

  • you are running 110 octane through a 11:1 motor? you got to be fucking kidding me. run 91 or 93 octane and that is plenty. and 11:1 compression is low and i dont see how it "pullled the studs out" the reason why you kept popping your head gasket is probably cause u bored it and there wasnt enough material left for the gasket to seal on because the cylinder is thinner.

  • i did the 426 kit, and if i knew what i was gona have to put in it to make it bullet proof, i prolly wouldnt have bored it, but now that its good, man they are torque monsters, 2005 400ex, bored .120 to make it a 426ex, 11:1 weiseco piston flat topped, to make compression more like stock, GT thunder head studs, cause the high compression was pulling them from the jug, making the gaskets fail, spal fan, a set of aluminum air scoops, K&N, DG race slip on pipe, and only 110 race gas run in it
