A Little Love, A Little Kiss" was the most successful song of Lao SILESU, composer born in Sardinia (18831953). This song, originally composed in french version with lyrics by Nilson FYSHER and entitled "Un peu d'amour", in 1912 was published in english version with lyrics by Adrian ROSS. "A Little Love, A Little Kiss" revived in time by various performers: among others, was recorded in 1927 by jazzman Eddie LANG, and sung by Jeanette MACDONALD in the movie "Smilin' Through" in 1941.
What a lovely surprise to hear this recording today. It is one that is not in my collection and must have been made with Fred Hartley when Webster Booth was very young. Many thanks for uploading it. I hope you'll upload the other side of the record some time.
If you click on the video resonce above, I've uploaded the other side. It's called "The Brown Bird Singing".The disc was pressed in Australia in 1934, but it may have been recorded in 1933. It usually took several months for the masters to be sent out here.
