  • Randy was talking about this album on Vinyl Tap this week. All the guitars were plugged into one amp and they were using just one mike for the whole band.

  • A rock classic that put the Guess Who on the 1965 Billboard Hot 100. Written & first recorded by Johnny Kidd & the Pirates in 1959.

  • . . . little known fact . . . just as Chad Allen and the Expressions ... when they came

out with "Skakin' All Over" . . . could not get Air Time in Winnipeg (sadly, the Radio Stations Didn't Think They Were Worthy!!!) THAT IS WHY THEIR NEXT RELEASE

was just Entitled as "The Guess Who!!!" . . . Not Knowing ... the Stations played

their Songs and kept gettin' requests AND, the Rest Is History!!!

JUST AS A SIDE NOTE . . , WE USED TO GO TO THEIR SHOWS in PORTAGE

    for A DOLLARD!!!

  • I remember seeing you at sinclair park community club as a kid. I was shakin all over...it was 20 below outsid

  • mi versión favorita, gracias!!

  • I believe ths was released in the states on the Scepter(The Shirelles, Dionne Warwick,B.J. Thomas) label

  • @handinside You are right. At that time, it was the Scepter (the Shirelles, Dionne Warwick) label. According to an interview from GOLDMINE back in the early 1990s, The Guess Who were puzzled over having their record released on Scepter because it's roster were black artists. B.J. Thomas was added to Scepter Records AFTER "Shakin' All Over" was released. The Guess Who released another 45 on Scepter but it tanked.

  • this made my day! hehehe

  • I've been searching this song for a long time and i finally found it!!! hehehe thank u! :-D

  • Hehe...

This is the song that was playing during a scene from one of Mr. Bean's episodes - the one where he ended up taking care of a baby at an amusement park. :-D

  • Jezebel posted

  • Ok, take that

  • try hooking the truntable to a preamp or reciver and hooking that to th computer, then record, use sound recorder and ajust the length, or use a beter program

  • I actually like the fact that the quality isn't perfect. I don't think it's too distracting, I think it makes it more authentic and honest in a way. I know that's weird. xD

  • You guys are ridicoulous. 45's have qual

  • I realize this. I own a record player and 45s. I just occasionally dislike how you can hear more of a pitch fluctuation on a 45 versus a regular LP. It's a weird preference I have. So I would prefer not to be called ridiculous simply for a personal preference.

  • ok, ill post some 45's starting tonight. No insult.

  • My 1st post will be jezeble by itness Inc

  • Isn't perfect? How bout 600 miles from

    perfect.

  • I was 2 young to kick Jane Fonda's ass

  • seems to be alot a vietnam vets remember this songg, sweet

  • in battlefield vietnam this music is funny if u ballout of a jet \o/!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOVE this song, gives me a great feeling and takes me back to the era it was made even though I wasn't born yet!

  • is nice in battlefield vietnam

  • I agree on that!

  • Listen to Randy every Saturday.

But, I gots ta' know. I was in the RCAF in Gimli in 1965. Would I have heard this version? I swear I did, at the pavilion in the center of town in 1965.

  • Check out Randy Bachman's web site, he has all of the early Guess Who songs, pre Burton and early with Burton. And very reasonable prices too.

  • Although it has affected my ability on how to spell properly...

  • Why do some people describe what they were doing when they listoned to music in the 70's? I used to jack off to 70's music...does anyone really care?

  • hey that's cool, i'm still jacking @ 70ties music today. so awesome really.

  • it sounds all distorted..hurts the ears

  • It does sound like the Beatles. Probably on of the best opening chords in rock music.

  • In my opinion Chad Allan had one of the GREATEST voices in Rock-absolutely CHILLING to the bone! Johhny Kid wrote and did the original but to me THIS was the BEST version!

  • Guy...you have some really great vinyl..I'm like major jealous!

  • It really sounds like Burton Cummings doing vocals on this. Is it Cummings on this record?

  • Are you kidding?! The great Chad Allan sounds NOTHING like Cummings, Burton was/is a fine singer but Chad's voice was CHILLING!

  • I used to go and stand outside the clubs when they first started playing back in Winnipeg MB, Chad Allen, and Randy Bachman, cool.

  • i have this lp pretty for the pre-cummings era

  • At least you suggested a cool song like this. I just downloaded it. This song is great really (next step: learn how to play it in guitar, lol).

  • cool track :)

  • They kinda have that Beatle sound going on. Kewl.

  • Awesomeness... I had no idea the Guess Who had a phase like this!

  • I had the 8track of this album.

    the clock on the wall

flying on the ground is wrong

  • I did have a US version of "The Guess Who: Chad Allan and the Expressions" album, which was released on Scepter Records in 1965. I noticed that it had some songs culled from previous Canadian Guess Who albums, and had a pic of a boy and girl dancing instead of the band.

  • yeah, Chad Allan & The Expressions did two LP's for Quality (Shakin' All over, Hey Ho). The best tracks from the two were taken and put onto the US Scepter release. The US release is a compilation of their better songs but still, there are some gems missing from the Scepter LP.

  • It wasn't until 1969, I think, that the Guess Who recorded for Nimbus 9 Records in Canada and their US releases distributed by RCA Victor. In my opinion, I wish RCA had gotten the record rights for Shakin' All Over, it would have been a bigger hit, yet it was distributed by the smaller Scepter label (who had the Shirelles and Dionne Warwick on their roster).

  • CD Universe has it for $28.95 on CD. Im sure tha album cant be bought for less than $10K

  • I am still searching everywhere for this LP. Great song!!

  • "requesting a pickup!"

  • brutal quality, but killer song and album! check out my Guess Who tune! Minstrel Boy, my video is from Vinyl too.

  • yeah sorry bout the quality

  • tommy told me to listen to this song. always love ya seanchai xxxxxxxx

  • Good 60's song!

  • sorry but the sound is very muffled.

  • Formerly Al and the Silvertones, soon to be Chad Allan and the Expressions and then The Guess Who.

These boys played at our sock hops in Winnipeg in the late 60's. Awesome!!

  • Where does this sound like the beatles ????

  • not this song, other song on the LP.
