he used to play traditional in the killers and now plays matched...i just wanna find out what the deal is?!

i look to him for inspiration cause i went from play matched to playing traditional...but its real handy having both.

He still plays traditional, he just switches back and forth for different songs, if you watch the there new dvd from the royal albert hall you can see him playing both ways.

It's weird how most newer drummers these days are obsessed with big hi hats but I really love 13" hi hats! Pretty cool sound!

in fact, the point isn't that "drummers are obbsessed with big hh" but that for these kind of music he needs big sets, big cymbals and so on. ronnie played in a lot of bands and a lot of different kind of music, from jazz to ska. i'm sure he used a lot of different kind of hh too :)

@PASTAandMUSE everyone is different. Have you ever considered RV might not play stuff like that? Personally I rate RV, but think his playing can get a little 'washy' at times. Not really right to compare his playing to guys like portnoy and lang. U should be comparing Bozzio to them really....and RV to, dunno....larry mullen jr?
