I actually disagree............The USA would do very well against the three super powers and if the fight got a little over whelming all our troops would have to do is withdraw back into America where the armed population outnumbers the military numbers of about half of the entire worlds militaries combined.

Of course, you could argue that Ossetiens had discussed their move with the Russian government beforehand, anyway, you would have to be very stupid to provoke a giant like Russia who sits on your very doorstep and has just been waiting for an excuse to pound on you.

Sovereignty was something established by Lincoln during the Civil War. What makes this any different? Georgia has a claim to those territories. Point is they've been beaten and yet Russia still won't accept a cease-fire. They're going to dissolve the Georgian gov't. What exactly would they be replacing a democratic government with?

This has nothing to do with Democrats/Republicans. Most of the western world is on the same page on this one: Russia needs to accept the cease-fire. Ukraine is next.
