Zaheer Bhai, I did not mean to be negative, just wanted to correct a historical fact. If Naqi Ali is the grand son of Ustad Bhade Ghulam Ali and is singing their style then obviously it is Patiala Gharana. Why does he deny this style and trying to make it into something else, Obviously people are not buying this Patiala Kasoor concept. I really did not mean to be negative and I am sorry if you see it that way. My comment was in response to his nasty comment to me ( see below sajanpiya)

Ustad Ali Baksh and Kale Khan learnt from ustad Fateh ali and ali baksh of Patiala thus the kasoor gharana became PATIALA KASOOR! Naqqi Ali has NO RELATION with the Patiala gharana people

So sad. Naqi Ali Khan is creating his own version of history by creating his own new Kasoor Gharana. Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan belonged to the great Patiala Gharana, His father Ali Bakxsh and Fateh Ali Khan created the Patiala style of singing which is still very much a huge style in Indian Classical Music. Barkat Ali Khan, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Munawar Ali Khan, Reza Ali Khan - All very proud of their Patiala Gharana Style of singing. This commentary is an insult to the great Patiala masters.

People like Lata, Rafi and Noor Jehan are blessed with great voices and with the ability to render music. But someone like Bade Ghulam Ali is essentially a creator of music. He is an extemporaneous composer who weaves out sequences of sounds each of which becomes the foundation of hundreds of songs. The Latas, the Rafis and the Noor Jehans have a different role from that of the Bade Ghulam Ali Khans. Comparing them is unfair to both categories.

@MitBhaashi YES, you are right, there is no comparison between Lata, Rafi, Noor Jehan and Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahib. Many songs that Lata, Rafi sang were composed by great musicologists like

O.P. Nayyar, S.D. Barman, Shankar-Jaikishen, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Madan Mohan, who were all well versed in Indian Classical Music and were masters of melodic forms and still today are unmatched. Akaar style of singing is basic to all Indian Classical singing.
