  • When a hamster is like that it will just stay thier theyr tring to get use 2 u

  • I think he is just getting older

  • i see a scared hamster thats it its ok

  • to small cage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he is just scared!it will get better!my hamster did that in the beginning to!!

  • he is probaly shocked of something u did he will be better in a couple days

  • Mine did the same thing it is because it is tired and it just feels comfortable in your hand.

  • its dead simple as or its depressed

  • Sleepy, maybe? Or if its a girl it's ready to get pregnant.

  • it looks like he is just comfortable with you. my hamster did that at least only one out of the three. like human they have their own personality. some are nosiy some are busybody like my sophie but my mimi are like yours, calmly sitting on your hand. just give a bursh, there is hamster brush and help to remove old fallen hair .plus try to give more vitamins, there are treats that are good for coat too.

  • @kaylarocks111 Wikipedia tells a lot of things that aren't true, sweetheart. I think I do know a lot more than you do. You can't even take care of your own hamster.. ;) It needs a bigger cage, dumbass,

  • Comment removed

  • He is listening. He is scared, this is normal. Just hold him more, and it will get better.

  • it's normal, hamsters do that when they're scared

  • This is a campbelli dwarf hamster, not a russian dwarfhamster. You'll notice when you take a look at the tail and the ears. Besides, a coat like this wouldn't be heathy for a Russian, it would mean its sick. The coat of a Russian has to be smooth and shiny. This kind of coat is normal for a Campbelli dwarf. He's just scared

  • @kaylarocks111 You're talking about an Hybrid dwarf hamster, idiot.

  • Your hammy is just scared

  • Umm your hamster is fine but you need to clean up your house it is DIRTY

  • Your hamster is just scared. After awhile it will be fine. :)

  • Hamsters can be very timid. Also they are very still when they are held.

  • @Sunfl75 hamsters only stay close to the ground while running if they are trying to avoid predators its because he is hot so he spacing his body out to cool down..

  • Sometimes hamsters react like that if they are startled by something. They hold still instingtivly till the danger goes away.In nature that reaction helps them keep undetected by predators. It might have been a noise or a sudden movement that spooked it into staying absolutely still.

  • my hamster was like that because of dirty suroundings..... but if you clean his cage really good in a few days you will notice a better coat

  • If a hamster has a shiny coat, he is healthy. But his is rugged and not very shiny. Take him to a vet or he'll have a chance of dying.

  • or a heart attack dont listen to them dumm people ok.But just take to vet he must of broke something or maybe you forget about him sometimes maybe hes fed up .Other thaan that idk could be sick take him to vet im sorry hes in the way :(

  • Well he must have broke something it could be age take him to vet :D Its fine probly broke somthing :(

  • @150lbsofFur Go on...

  • he was shocked by something, and get that house cleaned.

  • It can happen if you hold them to high up aswell.

  • not to be mean but maybe he is looking around your dirty house

  • mady he is scared

  • sometimes when they freeze that means their about to pee or poo

  • it is probably shy or tired or something just give it loads of attention

  • He/she's fine, just tired, they are nocturnal!

  • oh she/he is ok she just got a little swety my hamster looks like that when i take her out of her sleeping house

  • Some clever hamsters do this because its too warm and there spacing the body out to get cool it was mammals do :)

  • @BoyTheBeasty Hamsters that space out heir body try to stay as close to the ground as possible, because they don't want to be seen as easily by predators. That means they are extra cautious of their surroundings.

  • Must be your body odor

  • prehaps its cold.

  • My hamster does that 3 times a week your hamster might be in shock, spaced out, or... dead...

  • @DarkandAngelKyla when its stoned like tht

  • OMG I'VE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE, ok so i got the hamster (long time a go, so its dead) i tried to hold it alot of times! of course she was very jumpy too. so one time i threw her on the ground pretty hard when she bit my finger cause she didnt wanted to be held. and i put her back in the cage , pick her up while she was calm and all that.GUESS WHAT? SHE DIDNT MOVE JUST LIKE YOUR HAMSTER. but she didnt have any illness, anything like that.

  • Comment removed

  • i think it's dead

  • Looks like he was in shock. They can go into shock easily, take an old one of mine, he fell about 5cm's onto a pillow, landed correctly but acted like yours did after you picked him up, yet the same hamster jumped off my bed onto the floor and was fine.

    Strange little critters.

  • that happened to mine...she died that night in my hand

  • @sacmurph thats sad, how old waz it?

  • is it dead?

  • lol thats funni you scared the shit out of him poor hamster

  • Your hamster was fine. If you picked him up suddenly, you may have startled him. In the wild, the hamster's defense mechanism is to freeze if a large predator swoops nearby so that they aren't seen. :)

  • @01HamsterHelper now i`m with you i think it`s froze as well

  • Throw him up :D

    Maybe he will move O_O

  • ok u should never pick them up high because they dont like hights i have one my self he dont that and the vet told me its becuase hes cold / scared so u should put some shredded paer in the cadge and dont take him out for a couple of days ok . l

  • He/She just looks frightened. You should of put her/him in his/hers cage so they calm down a bit ;) Its fine even thought he/she didnt move for ages! trust me ;) When hamsters are frightened they stay still and lay flat, which is what your hamster was doing.

  • Could be fear of heights... You did just lift him up to the hamster equivalent of a 20 story building.

  • My Twilight had the same reaction, there is nothing wrong,he's probably just letting you see what it is like to have a good hamster in your hand,he's probably trying to impress you.

  • this is normal, my hammie used to do this:-)x

  • you named your hamster Stalin?? lol

  • he's or she's just scared. Let him or her cool off. He or she should be fine. Trust me, i have 3.

  • he looks wet

  • Favortie part of a hamster, the eyes and the way they make there faces. I think he was in shock. I might be wrong though :T

  • i think he is just home sick... as when u put him back into his cage, he seems ok...

  • it ok my hamster did that 2 she was wheard she got over heeded by sun and then i give her cumumbers she loves that

  • Hey , people stop arguing ! :O

  • i think hes just stoned. really stoned.

  • listen.

if your hamster is old it could be dying.

if it is young take it to the vets.

    hope he gets better.

  • Mine did that all the time (all 3 of the babies :( ) They ended up all dieing the next morning. My mom was a total fucking dick and wouldn't take them to the vet.

  • @SkaterBroski Great advice....... not. This is entirely normal. Hamsters often go into trances for no reason at all. His hamster is not going to die.

  • @reballare I didnt say that was going to happen to his, I was saying it's was happen to mine. Ok? Chill outt

  • Comment removed

  • You gotta watch out for these types of things. One febe was all fine and dandy and the next day she lost her eye and died from wet tail :( happened about a month ago and then I lost bisquet last night to old age. He was almost six so he lasted quite some time R.I.P little buddy

  • wet tail

  • I didn't sense anything wrong. For some reason he simply didn't want to leave your hand. Either he was cold or needed a break and found some sense of security or comfort in your hand. And did you notice that he didn't leave right away when you brought him to the cage entrance? Instead you had to dump him in and he quickly went to the edge as if beckoning you over. I'd call that a bond ^.^

  • ill trade u hamsters mines bites.

  • how could is it in your room or where ever you keep him. her

  • he is concentraiting lol i think, since his ears are up and he is still. feed him cabacge and raisons

  • Push the reset button.

  • @JazzCat47 thats mean i think my hamster has wettail, and might die

  • @JazzCat47 HAHAHA :)))

  • Hes just either shocked or a very calm hamster

  • hes stunned, my hamster did that a few weeks ago, it was funny but kinda creepy

  • he is stunned. which means you might have accidently scared him so he froze up for a couple momets. thats what my hamster did when i startled her by mistake. i thought she was dead! but she wasnt. she died last night tho from a stroke.

    R.I.P. Fuzzy Wuzzy
