  • i think you should move house tbh, not worth the stress.

  • @bert872 No way we would let them make us leave our home. Stress is on them now, not on us. We aren't the ones being filmed & fined.

  • Moving house is stress, don't move but make the jerks next door move. Use mind games like the CIA did in Vietnam, or get some surgical gloves a gun getaway vehicle ect...

  • @happymana Love the mind games idea! We've been doing that recently. They now let the dogs out between midnight & 2am. When we hear them call the dogs (and we ALWAYS hear them!) we turn lights on & off, open & close curtains, or take out the trash. Anything to let them know that yes, we are watching and yes, we know what they are doing.

  • Cameras and Fences make good neighbors. Actually, Given the current laws (esp. in NY) anyone who doesn't have a fence on (or near) their property line is a fool. You will eventually loose your land to a greedy neighbor.

  • @nexodude2000 Our back yard has been fenced since we bought our house. We aren't allowed to fence the front yard. With the legal action we took back in 1997, we did get a judge to order them to install a fence. Not much good if they just open the front door & let the dogs out. The camera system seems to have finally put an end to the dog problem.

  • Hmm, I would say that this situation demonstrates another reason that people are moving out of the cities into 1.5Acre lots in the country with second amendment rights signs on the perimeter.

  • Stop calling Animal Control. Call the police.

  • @LittleMommaalbi -Did so, every time the house was vandalized. Both police & Animal Control are County jobs. Head of hiring for the county was the home-owner's brother. It's the Good Ol' Boy system at its best.

  • Absolutely horrible. Feel for you. I'm dealing with verbal harassing neighbors myself and could easily woop there ass but I would be the one going to jail. I'm waiting for them to start vandalism themselves.

  • I hope you don't have the kind of problems we've had. Make sure you are always on the right side of the law and document, document, document.

BTW, when I look up these neighbors on our local clerk of courts web site, I see arrests for battery, DUI, theft, all kinds of stuff. They are not worth going to jail over.

  • Good, well I guess that's something but do whatever you can to keep the law on your side, any departments, individuals or people with status. Make sure they know what's going on if something happens. People are ridiculous. It sounds like either these folks wanted to make your lives miserable or just start trouble and get away with it. Good luck and keep your eyes peeled. Get a guard dog?

  • Thanks. We have a guard conure, you might hear her screeching in some of the vids. We though she was seeing hawks. Once we set up the cameras, we learned she called her alarm cry when the dogs came into our yard. These folks have an inflated sense of entitlement. They also have karma currently hitting them back big time, stuff that comes from their negligence to follow other laws. Traffic laws in particular, the family has racked up a couple hundred citations in 2 counties!

  • Well it just seems that they are harassing, and if the cops won't as opposed to can't (If they can't do anything then that's one thing) Then maybe try to find out if they are breaking the law yourself and use a lawyer, if there is no law being broke well that's fine. But they are rude. Sticky situation.

  • Laws were broken, no question. What we lacked was proof that they were responsible for the repeated vandalism. All we had was a pattern, we'd call Animal Control & the next day our home was damaged. We later found out the home owner's brother was head of hiring for the county. Lots of influence there with both police & Animal Control. It's tense and uncomfortable now, but they don't dare mess with us because of the cameras. We made sure they saw them & told other neighbors we posted here.

  • Forget the cops just sue them.

  • For what? We consulted our attorney regarding a formal complaint. He found nothing actionable in part because there was no documentation. At least with the security cameras we can now document both the animal violations and any vandalism that might occur in the future.

  • Oh, I put a huge bowl out on my land full of anti-freeze. I lived out in the country, had packs of dogs running all the time. I don't see them anymore.

  • Packs of dogs, that's really bad! We haven't put out antifreeze because it's illegal. Plus other neighbors' dogs get out sometimes. It's just this one family that ruins the block. They know I post on YouTube, so they're more careful to keep their dogs in now. I can finally open my windows without smelling dog shit, yay!

  • Just put an electric fence close to the ground around your yard

  • If I have to spend money to keep their dogs out of our yard, I"ll spend it on the camera system. That allows us to report the dogs (costs the neighbors about $125 every time) and ensures they don't vandalize our house again.

  • Ha wow that must suck. I used to have neighbors that had dogs that crapped on our lawn all the time and they never did anything about it. But they moved and everyones happy about it.

  • We aren't that lucky. They moved out for a few months, but unfortunately they came back. Their 2 labs crap so much that we picked up 12-20 huge piles a week. Some of us on the street were tossing it back into their yard. They didn't keep their dogs in until I gave a video to Animal Control. Now they don't speak to us, but I don't care. I just want to be able to walk in my front yard and open my windows without seeing/smelling mountains of dogshit.

  • WOW!!!! Everybody in my neigborhood pretty much owns at least one dog but they NEVER EVER let the run loose.

  • Almost everyone on our street also owns a dog. Only these morons have always let their dogs run loose. The dogs crap in everyone's yards but our got it the worst. The dogs also attack people and other dogs.

  • Since this little clip got so many views, I uploaded the full version. Must be a lot of people out there with bad neighbors!

  • LOL.

  • move

  • Like hell I will, this is our home. Everyone on the block despises them. Let them move. Or go into foreclosure again when they don't have parents alive to bail them out for the 5th time.

  • Damn! What a bunch of assholes!

  • Understatement of the year!

  • It's the neighbors who should put up a fence. There used to be a person on my street who gave their dog the run of the neighborhood. The bottom line is this: the vast majority of dog people are assholes. Don't get me wrong, there are some dog people who are nice and considerate, and keep their animals in control, but time and again, dog owners have pissed me off with their gross stupidity.

  • They did put up a fence to avoid a fine. Problem is, they don't put the dogs in their own back yard. They either keep them inside all day every day or they open the front door to let the roam. Gross stupidity is the understatement of the year for this bunch.

  • lol.... get some fence around the house and don't call animal control + police. fix problems by nicely talking to your neighbors
