you ever mess with a bb? I was thinkinng about getting one, but they are lacking in quality and look's compared to the GT-4, lot'sof plastic and wierd cocpit, friend has one and i didnt like being in it, the GT-4 has it all, room, practicality for a ferrari, semi easy to change plug's and oil.& filter, It's strange but i think i like the sound of the GT-4 even better than the older columbo 12's, I wish the BB was a better thought out car, If it was? Id get one, and a GT-4,
Ive been a ferrari nut for yrs but i dont like the dumb hyperness of the prices or auction's, I like the BB's Dino's GT-4 and GTB,GTS. older ones like Daytona's and GTC-4's, I like the GT-4s as thery remind me of the old school the Enzo era ferrari's. I could go on and on about them, the GT-4 was from diffent thinking. remind's me of 60's Ferrari GP car's, NART and all of that. simple without geegaw;s and gadget's. A TRUE V8 FERRARI. Like masers too but ferraris are unique.
@kirkconway Don't worry, this is the best way to warm any ferrari up, as long as you don't go over 3000rpm for the first 5-10 mins then all is fine, it's better to warm up this way as it warms the gearbox up properly too and the brakes! ;-) They are great cars and so underated
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
Nice car!! Looks like it would be a blast on a nice curvy road! I think the guy comparing it to an escort doesn't have anything else to compare it to. How can you try to discredit a classic sports car, a Ferrari nonetheless. Dont hate, CONGRATULATE. The question is, what do you drive that you have this " snobbish" opinion of this great car?" If I told you what I drive you wouldn't believe me or cry. Haha, enjoy life, it is not a race!!
the GT4 was the best 308 made and they handle better and i think look better than the GTB, or GTS, and they SOUND SO MUCH BETTER TOO what a 308 was supposed to sound like,
I bought one 308 Dino i Cologne and one in Basel, Switzerland. Sweet cars and the engine sound is just belissima. I have had over 30 Porsche 911s but this is still the numero uno automobile.
I was taken to school in a shitty brown Datsun 140Y while my friend arrived in a red Ferrari 308 GT4. Talk about being being born under a bad sign Great car. Thanks for posting.
lol! dont you just love putting it in first gear while making sure the carbs have enough gasoline not to make them stop when at a traffic light hahahaha!!!!!!!!!! yeah man, Dinos are cool!!! love the "tigershark" design ;) and the sound, wow, old school Ferrari stuff, great car, love it, thanks for posting!
By right if you get one now. It only cost less then 10k. Take a look at Top Gera's 10k supercars. And also, maybe it isn't as powerful as it is anymore.
This is a V8. It sounds more like an inline 4 (actually all ferrari v8s do), because it has a different type of crankshaft and different firing order from normal 90 degree v8s in american and german cars.
oh no! sorry this was just a wind up, truth be told i have a 78 308gt4 dino too and love it, i was just mucking around, yes i know exactly what your saying, they are fantastic cars, just keep them tuned and they fly!
I think the Bertone designed GT4 looks great. Some Ferrari snobs claim it isn't a real Ferrari because it wasn't designed by Pinninfarina but they're just insecure people. If people take time to really look at the GT4 they'll see what a well balanced design it is
"308 GT4 wore the Dino badge until May 1976, when it finally got the Ferrari "Prancing Horse" badge on the hood, wheels, and the steering wheel"
How is that a 1975

@jnj2595 Those badges might have been changed..?

curiously enough, one of the thinks i like the most of this car is the steering wheel. classy, simple and vintage-sporty. just perfect

Guy,, why didnt you keep the GT-4?
was it a money issue or wanted sometjing else?
I can see you like driving it.your better at it than most other's on here that are radical and trying to show off.
Of all the ferrari's Id been in?
the GT-4 seem's to fit me the best.
I was in that older 250 GT show car from Bertone with the slotted disc type wheel's and the rolled upoulstery.
and stainless roof,

seems like the GT-4 and a BB would be a good choice,
reliability, pretty good part's avaliability, and nquality is better than older Lambo;s,
GT-4 were what 308 were supposed to be in the first place,

Yeah you're right they are cheap for a Ferrari but that one on TopGear was knackered. I bet this one could run rings around it.

What sound? sounds identical to an inline 4!!!
mickeymoose76 2 years ago
Thats because it is an inline 4!!!! they didn't make the dino with a v8 but what they did do was make it very light and boy can this car shift!
