  • I wonder if your pair has a sharp edge somewhere which is cutting your wire. If so, you may have to file and smooth it down. I typically use 20-24G wire with this tool.

  • Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a question relating to these particular pliers (I've tried to get it answered elsewhere without luck). I have a pair of these and have tried using them as you demonstrate, but they always seem to cut my wire before I've even finished. What am I doing wrong? If I hold them loose enough to prevent this, the loops don't come out correctly. If I grip it firm enough to work with the wire, it cuts the wire. Are they meant for a tougher gauge wire? Thanks for any info.

  • You can buy these pliers from many jewelry suppliers. I think Amazon also has them.

I bought mine from Evie's Tool Emporium on Etsy.

  • Were did you get that specific tool you are using, or what brand is it?

  • Odd, but I like the silence broken by the crow cawing in the background, lol! At least it sounds like a crow.

This looks like a really cool tool to own - I buy for my daughter who's taken up jewellery and so far she only has two pliers. Looks like I should also get her a cutter? Do you recommend a type of cutter one should have? Thanks!

  • The pliers are called bent nose pliers. You can also use 2 broad nose pliers rather than the mix I use. I find the bent nose pliers more comfortable ergonomically so to use in my right hand. I also don't have duplicate tools. Try out your tools and see which works for you.

  • Are these the concave pliers? TY

  • Great, clear video. I purchased these pliers some years ago and never used. I'm going right now to try them out. Thanks

  • Thanks very much for your comment and suggestions. I will put in the keywords.

  • thanks for the great video. this is exactly what i needed. I couldn't find it when searching on youtube though. I found it via your website.

It might help to add some keywords like 'basic loop' or "round nose pliers" or "wire wrapping" etc.
