According to NBA rules, Bird's shot was the only one that was truly behind the backboard from where his? feet were when he took the shot. (*SEE VIDEO RESPONSE ABOVE) . Jordan, Kobe and Lebron's feet were outside the edges of the free throw line when they took the shot, meaning if you were at the free throw line looking at the backboard and where it was above the ground, MJ, Kobe and Lebron were not under that area, when they took the shot so their shots were legal and counted.
