My guess about her situation is: She probably switched and the agent from the other processor said, "I'll cancel that NAB account for you" and never did cancel it. The equipment is a loaner. It is worth $895 if you don't return it, you get charged for it. Once you send it back they refund the money. Hope this clears it up.
This "business owner" should have read her contract, when a company provides 'FREE" terminals to a merchant and that merchant closes the account the contract clearly states that all equipment provided must be returned within 10 days. That being said 99% of the time the processing company WILL refund and charges as long as the equipment is returned in working order within a reasonable amount of time...
