omg I want it. Would it fit a 2004 WRX? I love the subtle sound it gives, Anyway you can put up a video of the WRX instead of STI because its smaller turbo and might sound different?
@SimpleDesire95 cat back means behind the catalytic converter, as in, leave everything from the engine to the cat stock. non catback would be full exhaust from header to tip. ;)
@SimpleDesire95 Erm... i wish i could just draw it for you lmao. search "catback" on google images and look at the first image result. the two cylinder shaped parts (sitting right next to eachother) are catalytic converters. the rest of the exhaust after the cats, leading to the tips, are cat back.
@tacomanfan344 Yep I know that. But arent standard exhaust still supposed to be cat back? I think the cat converter is supposed to be more to the front of the chassis right?
A catback doesnt require any extra tuning. If this is the only modification done to the car I suggest running the Stage 1 map which is preloaded onto the Accessport.
Yeah I'm really thinking of getting this for my 07 sti nice lil rumble and I'm in Cali montebello to be exact and pd here r straight up a-holes so this would work just fine how much for the whole system@rallysport?
@rallysportdirect What does it come with? Just the Catback for $675 shipped? If so is it mandrel bent or stainless? Or for better question, How much feet with the acutal muffler do you get for this price ?
Ive had my catted cobb turbo back in place for two years now. Daily driver. No issues ever. This sound clip is a good example of what you get sound wise. System flow quality appears to be excellent on P&L dyno tune. Some times I wish it was a bit louder, BUT I can hammer the car without wakeing the police. Cabin noise intrusion is light to non-existent for comfortable long distance touring. Great choice if your looking for a quiet, mature looking,hi performance exhaust.
@12valvepower1 It's sort of funny, I was always a big fan of the EVOs, and then I moved and went to test drive one at a local dealership, and found I couldn't stand buying a car, any car, from such a group of people. Someone said I should go give my rival, the Impreza, a test drive, and that's all it took for me to get hooked. Also, the dash doesn't shake and the transmission isn't made of glass, so that's a huge huge plus right there.
Thanks for answering all my questions so quickly. What about the N1 vs. Race vs. G200? I can't quite tell the difference between them all through the videos. Thanks!
But no need engine mods? Like forged pistons, etc?
With Stage 2, how many whp average?
And the accessport will save my current config, to return in the future or it come with original Subaru config? Because my actual config has a little increase turbo boost.
This should be relatively easy, with a Cobb Accessport; you should be able to switch your map from Fuel Economy Mode to the map that best fits your vehicle.
There should be a selection that says "Tune" in the beginning stages. Then, there should be an option for "Realtime" or "Temporary" or something along those lines. Should be easy from there
is this exactly what the catback is going to sound like? because the STi in the vid has other mods to the exhaust... catback going to be more quiet than TBE?
@2kCelicaGTS The Cobb catback matched up with a 3inch aftermarket downpipe will be a touch bit louder.. only if your really listening for it. This car had a Cobb 3 inch Catted Downpipe
When it comes to matters like this I think you get what you pay for. Cobb has put countless amounts of time into the design of the accessport and will continually back it up. The accessport is like 10+ tunes in one package ;)
So if I were to just get the stage 1 accessport for a wrx (stock), would I need the sr intake? Also do both of the accessports (stage 1 and 2) have the fuel economy map?
thanks for the responses rally sport! ive made my decision on getting the CBE! I have another question tho.. say i get the SF intaje w/ airbox do i need to get an accessport or i can just plug and play basically.
Also, just for posterity, the car in the video is an '06 WRX Limited. Fitment between the Limited, base and TR models for the 06-07 model years are the same when it comes to exhaust components.
look at the autospeed cat-back it sounds great! that's what i installed on my 06 sounds just like the cobb but has a dual oulet which i dont care for but its worth the performance
The intake/airbox is a simple install, easily done with basic tools. Power gains are pretty much non-existant without a tune designed for an aftermarket intake and even then it won't do much without moving up to a larger turbo/IC/fuel system.
I got this exhaust on my 07 sti ltd and it sounds like a helicopter..........

Can anyone point out to me the difference between a catback and a non-catback exhaust? Thanks!

@SimpleDesire95 cat back means behind the catalytic converter, as in, leave everything from the engine to the cat stock. non catback would be full exhaust from header to tip. ;)
tacomanfan344 4 months ago
@tacomanfan344 So this is counted as a stock exhaust? But its aftermarket..? Thanks for answering me btw ;D
SimpleDesire95 4 months ago
@SimpleDesire95 No, because after the catalytic converter is the rest of the piping that goes to the back of the car.
tacomanfan344 4 months ago
@tacomanfan344 Ohh i see. So he's using a aftermarket exhaust pipe together with the cat converter? So it becomes a cat back exhaust? :P

@fabiotasica
No engine mods are needed to run Cobb's Stage 2 map.
They made the accessport very user friendly.
Cobb states a +19 % HP gain and a +38% TQ gain.
Yes, the accessport saves the current map on the car and then reloads it once the Accessport is uninstalled.

renarudo1 1 year ago
@renarudo1
No sir you would not need an SR intake.
I run a stock intake on my Stage 2 car and it works fine.
Stage 1 and Stage 2 are a map on the Accessport that's already preloaded, its not something that can physically be touched.
And Yes the Accessport comes with a fuel economy mode or map that you can switch to fairly effortlessly.

No you will not need to get an accessport to support the new Cobb SF intake.
