The British at that time was totally being conquered by the Japanese. British forces was too much of a focus on sea attacks but not land. It was a very perfect plan that the Japanese has been attacked through air forces and bicycle soldiers.

The civilian population had no supplies, nor did the army. The British were trying to protect the civilians as well as fight, the Japanese were not hamstrung this way. The people who care about the lives of innocents always have the hardest job. The Japanese controlled the skies and the water. The soldiers who arrived there had no experience and were going up against very experienced Japanese soldiers.

@teslagod2003 I recently found that Canada gave more troops than all other commonwealth countries put together, the commonwealth countries were small. Canada the largest, had less than 20 million total, and the Quebecois would not fight, even though France was under the "Jackboot". LOL when I say alone I mean the Commonwealth was alone. Cheers.

Finally when they regrouped in singapore what did they do? Surrender without even a fight. Think of the locals that sacrifice so they could fucking regrouped hold hands and surrender.
