  • The good side of that dumb French decision to build forts in the Ohio Valley, it triggered a war that loaded the British with so much war debt that they overtaxed their American colonies and lost them after 1776. Be happy with that. Les Habitants lost Nouvelle France and the British lost New England. You came out even and you both live in a free country already.

  • The colonial wars in North America ended centuries ago. Now the US and Canada are among the freest countries on Earth. If the Quebecois want to blame somebody, blame the guy that started building forts in the Ohio Valley that threatened the western expansion of the American colonies. When you're outnumbered 60-70K (French) vs. 2-3M (the British American colonies) it's not good to trigger a war that you had no chance of winning.

  • Yea it'll be fun to see...We'll have Pauline Marois as leader who her own party wants nothing to do with...And it'll not only be english the problem now..it'll be all cultures who are not native french...I still love singin zique zon zin zon when i camp tho, brings back good memories of my grandfather who always made good money as a frenchman in the US and in canada..Weak minds and bleeding hearts is the problem.

  • the french lost ....end of story

  • Language does not separate us. Samuel De Champlain should be our hero. He initiated, built, and ensured the permanence of our beginnings which ultimately begat and formed our independent beginnings, separate from the mother island, and completely in control of our own creations - separate from the toothless feigning of the commonwealth mainland.

  • I love Canada. J'adoire Canada

  • @legermqc & @TheCanadian9

listen both of you are idiots.... We as Canadians should all learn French & English. Period.

Pour être capable de parler deux langues est un avantage. Je suis un anglophone, mais je sais comment parler francais, allemand, japonais etc... It's with this stupid pig headed attitude on both sides that will further this pointless battle into a downward spiral for our country.

Anglophones should learn French & Les Francais devraient apprendre l'anglais

  • Wow, lui y savait ce qui faisait

Pi y a mis le FLQ a sa place

On en a jamais pu entendu

    Parler

    Bon debarras

  • No other leader has ever divided Canada (Quebec+ROC) more than Trudeau. He is loved like no one else, (maybe Atatürk for the Turks) in English-speaking Canada and very deeply disliked among French speaking Québécois particularly sovereigntists and nationalist federalists. Associating the FLQ with all "separatists" is like saying "Robert Pickton is Canadian so all Canadian are like him".

  • @major4lee He's not very well liked in much of English Canada either; think National Energy Policy out west, or in the military just about anywhere (Unification). When he showed up in Normandy on the anniversary of D-Day years after the event, veterans - who knew that he sat out the war - catcalled to him "we didn't need you then and we don't need you here now."

  • @madorosh Well, I'm glad that he is criticised in English Canada! The day Trudeau died, a notorious documentary director and Quebec independence activist, Pierre Falardeau, called an aerial advertising business. "No problem, it's 500$, where do you want to advertise and what will be written?" Falardeau answered: "You go to Trudeau's funeral and it will be written "Mange d'la marde!" (Eat shit)". lol

"What! - They said - Are you crazy? I will lose my license. I can't do that"...

  • @major4lee All that aside, the FLQ crisis showed he had some mettle; it was just ironic that when he stood on the steps of Parliament and told that reporter there were bleeding hearts who didn't like the sight of people with helmets and guns ("watch me"), he was in the process of dismantling Canada's postwar army and shattering its institutions - the very soldiers he was relying on to enforce his policies.

  • Man too bad this guy wasnt my teacher or babysitter. Would be great reading a book.

  • God, he had such a way with words. Re-assurance while still conveying the gravity of the situation, and being straight about it.

  • Fuddle Duddle !!! Merci Beaucoup !

  • " Or perhaps some child " ??????

  • Yo, this is from 1970, this is the most unreliable piece of information known to man. These guys are murderers and frauds. PLEASE don't fall for this OLD ass shit.

  • @drake6430 THEY WERE 16..... THE ARMY FOR 16 PERSONS? you gotta be kidding me

  • I had chills at the end when he said, "Canada is one of the most wholesome and humane lands on Earth." He said it so sharply. One of the best leaders in modern history.

  • @sdonnelly881 oh yeah a leader that told rcmp to illegaly investigate the separatist movement in quebec... like putin hidden microphone, stealing the list of members of the Parti Québécois.... so he's an hypocrite... not a leader!

  • I love how he compares terrorists to a disease! Go Trudeau! You have always been my hero!

  • PRIME MINISTER TRUDEAU WAS RT IN CALLING OUT THE WAR MEASURES ACT THE IMPORTANT THING IS TO SAVE THE COUNTRY

  • If this situation had happenned in Toronto, we would have never seen the army.... It's the good old Canadian Democracy based on DOUBLE-STANDARD between english canadian and the Québécois. I dream the day that we will separate from Canada.... Without federal corruption in 1995, the YES side should have won.... Until the next time...

  • @LeGermQC Fuck you douche. Quebec wants to stay with Canada and English Canada wants to stay with Quebec.

  • bonjour mesimees Quebec is the heart & soil of Canada pls let us hold hand CANADA IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD EVERY PROVINCE IS SPECIAL NL, PEI, NB, NS, QC, ON, MANITOBA, AL, B.C., YK, NWT, NUNAVET,

I DO NOT LIVE IN TORONTO BUT REMEMBER G-20 THE POLICE WERE CALLED OUT OUI I WAS READING THE PAPERS

  • @liberal20111 youre right. Quebec is the soil of canada. the soil of canadas underpants

  • @LukePrinciottaMusic SHAME ON U SHAME SHAME SHAME HOW DARE U INSULT QUEBEC I AM SHOCKED I NEVER SAID UNDERPANTS I HAVE RESPECT MAN REMBER THE DANGER WE FACED LAST REFERENDUM I FOUGHT TO KEEP QUE. I WENT TO MONTREAL SHOW SUPPORT WHAT DID U SUPPORT

  • @LeGermQC you sir are the most incompetent individual I have EVER had the misfortune of coming across

No tragic harm has been done to you (the likes of a genocide as stated in the Supreme Court of Canada) and it wasn't enough to win with 50% you needed 2/3rds of the vote, which you were NEVER NEAR!

    Give your head a shake!

The separation of Quebec would have been the biggest economic disaster since the great depression...even worse than the great recession!

  • @stevetulloch04 60% of french quebeckers voted Yes... and its funny how you makae up new rules for democracy when it comes to a referendum in Quebec.... if Canada were really a democratic country, it will accept a 50% +1 result, HAS WE DID IN 1195 WHEN THE NO SIDE WON

  • @LeGermQC Actually no they never did, in fact it is Quebecs OWN CIVIL CODE which calls for the requirement of 2/3rds the vote! 50% is not enough. At no point did Quebec ever have 60%

and 1195? Are you kidding me? You didn't even succeed then either. There was no such referendum and furthermore even if they're was it would have been void when Quebec joined confederation! Dumbass take a history or politics course

Your going up against a history/poli sci major here at brock u.

  • @stevetulloch04 ...too bad you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're."

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS `` Your `` is a word use for possession and ``you`re`` is the verb to be.

  • @estesoyojajaja Well then! Why not use it correctly in a sentence, huh?!

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS

thats the chirp everyone says when they do not know what to say

  • @stevetulloch04 I thought "thats the chirp everyone says when they do not know what to say" was the "chirp" everyone says when they do not know what to say.

    Huh. Pretty strong retort, though.

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS

you know a wise man once told me when you continuously argue with a moron you eventually become one yourself ... have a nice day sir

and read a history textbook or maybe look at the economical situation quebec would have been in even if they did seperate

  • @stevetulloch04 Ok. Please recommend a good history book.

  • @BARCACROSSESTHEALPS

for you? Canadian history for dummies is a nice start... and I'm being serious

  • @stevetulloch04 Just bought it for my Kindle. $7, not bad. Thanks.

  • @LeGermQC And I find it funny how separatist democracy excludes the minorities who unilaterally voted NO. Together, the no side won by a slight margin. Or how about the PQ stealing votes in federalist ridings? Wow, I can't wait to see Quebecois democracy in action if it separates!

  • @TheCanadian9 Lol the funniest thing is how Federal government send tens of thousand of english immigrate in quebec each year to continue what english canada always try to do: assimilate the quebecois. And its even funnier to see that CANADA exclude Quebec in the Constitution negociation in 1982.... But i bet you don't know that quebec never signed this UNDEMOCRATIC constitution(even today with a federalist prime minister in quebec) go read history books and come back later

  • @LeGermQC and the last funny thing about canadian is that you are proud to say that canada has 2 official languages, but , in the VAST MAJORITY OF THE TIME quebeckers has to learn english to communicate with english canadian because you are too stupid to learn french like we learned english... good old canadian demacracy there

  • @LeGermQC The vast majority of the english population in quebec that voted no in 1995 do not a word in french.... they live in quebec and they do not have the respect of quebeckers to learn french in a territory that is over 80% french.... that a big lack of respect and it has always been like this.... know your history loser

  • @LeGermQC Get over it.. TODAY, Quebec WANTS to stay in Canada. Just because you don't doesn't mean Quebec wants to leave. You represent a small portion of Quebec today. MOVE ON!

  • @metyzermanfan19 Just another proof that you know nothing about Quebec! 65% of Quebec people says that they are Quebecker first. The only reason we have not yet separate is because of the federal government who says that they will not collaborate with Quebec if the Yes side win. After you<re trying to tell me that Canada is a beautiful democratic country? Pathetic

  • @LeGermQC really? you dream of quebec turning into a 3rd world country over night? well your a sick young man

  • @dragonbeast182 Kill imperialists!!!!

  • @dragonbeast182 Quebec will be the 16th country on the economic category and its well enough to substain the birth a a new country. Even Jean Charest (a BIG TIME federalist) said in france that Quebec had the money to make independance so ge tyour facts right... and by the way there's 2 official languages in Canada... English and FRENCH.... All the time, the quebecker has to speak english to be understood, because english canadian are too lazy to learn french

  • @LeGermQC you mean ENGLISH and french.

  • @LeGermQC The only reason English Canadians don't learn French is simply because they don't have to. Why is it so hard for separatists to understand this? They don't have to learn French in order to make a decent living on this continent. The only ones that do are the ones that hope to get a top job within the civil service in Ottawa. French Quebeckers have no choice to learn English in order to make a decent salary because of the demographic reality.

  • @LeGermQC (cont) Regardless of Quebec's political status, this will never change.

  • Is the Quebecois at war with Canada or still part of Canada?

  • @harry44callahan1

no sepaterism was destoyed as Democratic Social revolution and Quebec will remain with canad

  • @SovietUnionRedStar Thank you for the information.

  • Without the War Measures Acy being implemented in October of 1970,Quebec would have become like Northern Ireland. The violence being perpetrated by the FLQ was becoming more and more brazen.Trudeau saw through the lies of the quasi-Marxist terrorists in the FLQ and laid the law down on them to crush that movement at its source.

Pierre Elliot Trudeau was the last great Prime Minister this country ever had.Too bad his vision has been sold out by every PM since 1984...

  • Trudeau single handedly crushed terrorism in Canada.

  • @SkInHoUnD PRIME MINISTER TRUDEAU WAS THE BEST PRIME MINISTER WE HAVE EVER HAD

  • @liberal20111 what about sir john

  • @SkInHoUnD He would have to use drones today.

  • I LOVE MY COUNTRY I AM A PROUD CANADIAN/CANADIEN WE ARE MEISMEES BUT THE FLQ WERE DANGEROUS PRIME MINISTER TRUDEAU WAS RIGHT HE DID NOT LIKE TO BUT CANADA MUST BE PROTECTED.

  • Remember when politicians actually spoke to the public.

  • @chaff2 Good point. You don't see Harper address Canadians like this.

It may be partially because the PM is not technically the "head of state", which as we all know is not true in practice.
