This band was never given the crediblity they deserved. I think it was based soley upon their look, and the fact that they were sober and clean/ drug free. Not alot of the rock groups from this genre where like the Nelson twins. They definately broke the mold...

They came to SLC, UT twice while they were touring in the 90's. Both concerts were phenomial. Even if I catch slack, for admitting it, I will always be NELSON fan!!!

They played at Rocklahoma, 2009 and were surprisingly good. I enjoyed their entire set. Still cute and sounded this good-live. I saw Rick Nelson years ago at the Palomino thisclose. He was incredible, too!! I agree Bansheeeyes 78 where did everything go and why am I still here?? But, thankfully, Rocklahoma was a 3-day party festival that brought with it lots of great 80's bands, good food, drink , fun and new memories!

Nearly two full decades of great music, tons of diversity, megastars, and more importantly--good songwriting. (Not to say Nelson is mindblowingly great or anything, but you get the idea). The reason they weren't more famous is just a few short months after they hit with this song, Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" hit the airwaves and Alternative music became the new hot thing (along with Gangsta rap) and any 80's act that didn't try to copy that sound was left behind. The same thing happened in the transition from the 70's to the 80's with Disco and New Wave/Punk/Rap.

After the Rain was actually a well-produced record. Musically not bad, but some of the loftiest and "belongs in the past" stuff ever written. Nelson was one of those acts trying to hold onto the pretty boy pop rock scene that really got out of hand on the late 80s. Everyone with long hair a few catchy hooks and a guitar solo got at least a one record deal with someone.
