  • Also, where I live, the local sheriff issues concealed carry permits. After taking a class at my local sheriffs department, the class was advised not to disclose your weapon unless specifically asked if you have any weapons. If you are asked if you have any weapons, and you do the proper response is: I have a permit to conceal carry and I have it on me.

  • "You know hes going to ask for your drivers license, registration and proof of insurance so why not why have those documents ready?"-- REALLY BAD ADVICE.

Because if you move around in your car while the officer is approaching, he is going to be suspicious of the movement. Wait until the officer has full view of you, and verbalize and get the ok before attempting to pull a license out of a wallet, or registration/insurance out of a glove box.

  • If you do not have a CCW, but you do have a "firearm" concealed in the vehicle... can you hand over your blue card in the same respect?

  • This works in Washington State as well as I found out just tonight. It's amazing how being forthright turns a possible negative encounter into a 3-4 minute positive experience with a LEO.

  • @btmartin01 Most of us are pretty chill people
