this narration was very cool; thank you for producing this. seems like a lot of planning is involved to figure out your path over the 38 miles. how do you pre-plan this? with a computer?
also, very cool top map at the end, showing the glide path. what program is this? looks like you plug in your GPS to this, to get the path over ground & elevation?
@brice7698 Thanks. There was no pre-planning other than having a driver follow me on 2-meter radio. The 3D animation is done w/ SeeYou by Naviter and I screen capture it w/ Fraps.
@bmradux Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Huh? Were you calling me? I think I put myself to sleep too. I need lots more practice at the mic. It's very time consuming to learn and I have flying to do. Try my videos with the live narration. Part 1 & 2 - Ord to Indio - 74 Miles - 5-19-2011. These may be more to you liking.
@NMERider :)) no-no! with "bedtime voice" i actually meant the deep voice we men use when talking to a nice lady over a glass of wine at candle light. we can call it also "james bond" voice :P. not bad at all. i just noticed and found it amusing. congrats on the flights man!
I just hiked glendora mountain, beautiful view from up there! Also, I think I might have seen you! I was eating In-n-out around that time when I saw a blue hang glider, it was in the afternoon.
@nealshireman It's very likely that you saw me on 2/16/2010 or 2/17/2010 from Foothill and the 57. My favorite spots now are Klatch Coffee and Philly's Best on Arrow Hwy and 57. Welcome aboard!
Absolutely brilliant! Besides the overwhelming exhilaration you must feel at changing altitudes, there must be just as many moments of peace and solitude. Amazing! Well done brave soul. Glide on............
@eaglefree50 Thanks. That's a pretty accurate description. I go from elation to trepidation to tedium to you-name-it. The emotional trip alone is pretty vast. Watch my latest two videos w/ live narration and you may get a closer expereince.
@NMERider Hey NME whats up? Great video (again). Question: At the end of a lot of vids we see your whole flight through a GPS tracking or something... Does the software come with your GPS? If so which is it? Or do you have to separately download your flight to another program? Keep it up!
I just landed out for my first time this weekend (TWICE) and I must say, the XC bug bit me! This vid is inspiring, and makes me want to go the distance. I had a bit of pucker factor, too, watching you glide over that neighborhood...
@1stGlimpseProduction Thanks Jeff! Glad to know I could help inspire another pilot to take the leap of faith and trust his/her skills and instincts and explore the skies and terrain. Be sure to watch my recent "Surreal Flight" video for more tiger country below me. Cheers, Jonathan
@tiching99 That's when all the air around you starts sinking at once and you get flushed out of the sky. Sometimes you can outrun the flush cycle and salvage the flight.
NMERuder, Real fun watching and listening to this video. I'm parked and plugged in at Casey Cadwell's (sp?) at Alpine, Cal. He does PPG and trikes, Rained here most of today. The forecast for tomorrow doesn't look much dryer. My WW Sport II 155 sq' is soggy. If it clears up I'll listen for you. Laters, ---KB0NDL (ham tech.)
PS Old ears here, could you turn up the mic. gain for me on the narration next time?
That was my first attempt at narration and I would have liked to do it over but editing time was limited. I'll be doing plenty more and should improve my projection.
Any age from 10 to 100 will do. Use Google to look up the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia. I'm sure they'll be happy to steer you in the right direction.
Perhaps a member of Forum du deltaplane at Delta-Club-82 can translate. If they record the narration in French I will post another copy with their narration. Or perhaps someone can at least transcribe the dialogue?
Oh man that is a sweet video! Hey are the golf course folks ok with the landing? I can't see why they wouldn't be if there isn't anyone on the fairways. Did your chase crew find you ok?
Thanks! The golf course management politely asked me to move off the fairway and breakdown by the clubhouse where I bought a beer and a frozen Snickers Bar. My chase crew eventually found me after they learned how to use their new GPS. LOL
Good ride John (not sure of the correct term) Pucker factor indeed. Still I am appreciating these vids more now. I can actually watch them now. although I still get a little quezy on the landings. Like watching Luke go into the trench on the Death Star kinda thing.
WooHoo !! that was perfect narration ,Do A video to the West of Kagel When you get a chance .I still don't know what Scooters ,Stupid's look like.Great video.

why do you say that sport 2 is supper slow? I think the top speed is 60mph on it, How fast is your glider?
ScenicHD 1 year ago
@ScenicHD The Sport 2 top speed is in a very steep dive. The glider has no penetration.
NMERider 1 year ago
@NMERider hmm that's the one I been thinking of buying, Is it at least better then falcon?
ScenicHD 1 year ago
@ScenicHD Sport 2 is much more versatile than I Falcon. I flew mine 69 miles last year.
