Try using standard AV Cables that came with the PS3, and then quit the game. The HDMI Slot could be the problem on the PS3. Try it, if it does not work, when ps3 is on hold the power button until it beeps twice.
Ohh and on a sidenote, my thoughts about this: I think it's Sony's fault, because it can check what device (monitor / tv) it is connected to. Maybe they didn't like Samsung at the time they released many cheap tv's when Sony launched their bravia line. When the console is recognising those Samsung models, it won't sent any relevant data to it. Maybe, just maybe... There has to be an explanation.
So I wonder if you ever fixed this? I also need to mention I updated to the latest firmware, set my tv to game-mode, nothing works. Hopefully you fixed it already. It seems it's only with Samsung tv's and one line of sony bravia's, which apparently was fixed pretty soon. Too bad Samsung never fixed it and even doesn't know what it is, which I can't believe. Thanks in advance! - part 3/3
I tried 5 hdmi cables, all 3 ports (which works on pcmonitor), but not on tv. Hooked up pc to tv without problems (dvi->hdmi, thus not encrypted). I also suspect the hdcp, which can't be decrypted during bad handshake ps3 -> tv?? Component also works. I even tried unplugging hdmi interfaces and power, without success. Searching on internet gave me 0 solutions, as many many threads are unanswered and it seems like Samsung's helpdesk doesn't know a thing about it - part 2/3
Glad to see you think you found a solution, because I can't find it for the last several hours, when also I got struck by this... I got a 40" Samsung LCD TV with 3 hdmi ports, with hdmi port 1 connected to ps3 for months, without problems. Then I hooked up the port on a pc monitor (hdmi) and then back to tv. No signal on tv, while it works on pcmonitor... I can't even reset it, because there is always the no signal displaying. I can only reset it in composite mode - part 1/3
please help, i've been playing with a av composite cable till yesterday when i used for 1st time a hdmi,no trouble until now that i want to use again the av but get no signal from either of them
ok my ps3 worked fine on my non hdtv, then worked fine on my dads hdtv with an hdmi cable, but now back on the non hd, it wont get any signal! :( any advice?
I had my ps3 connected to my samsung as well.I had it in my tv and it was fine and unplugged it and put my hdmi into my computer screen(which has an hdmi port) to play it on there for awhile.nothing was found. then i put it back in my samsung television and the same thing happened to me like you where it says no signal? what should i do? please reply!!! btw ps3 did find an hdmi when i had the composites but when i would switch it on samsung it would say "no signal" please help and reply thanks!!
After dealing with this issue for a while, I've come to the conclusion/decision that it's an HDCP issue rooted from the TV. From all my reading it just seems to make sense. Especially considering the fact that the band-aide fix of resetting the output to NON-HD resolution can get it working again.
@Neal123 I have the same problem do i have to set my ps3 display settings to RGB ,i normally have it displayed on HDMI however i forgot my hd cable and i am using a hdtv i get the same no signal message
Ya the cables are fine. It's easy to tell when an HDMI connector is in all the way. I've changed ports on the TV. It seems to be an issue with the console. I simply cannot figure out if it's hardware or software (a setting somewhere).
My ps3 was going fine, until I disconnected the router then I reconnected it and It says I have no signal on signal strength

@Neal123
Same here, I sold my PS3 :-)
I tried hooking up a PS3 from my friend who stayed for couple days at my place and that one worked. I came to the conclusion it was my PS3...
Anyhow, the TV is hooked up on a vhs-, dvd, bluerayplayer and my htpc.

I've had it almost 2 years. The new logo is from keeping the software up-to-date.
