I never said that choreography was a genre. I don't know the exact definition, but choreography is when you design the sequences of movements that will be performed. Freestyle is just improvised, which is the opposite of choreography.

First of all if you look at the date of the video it was before jabbawockeez and it isn't so that its a thing from jabbawockeez its a prop they use and made famous.

idk how both of you could say whose the better dancer and try to play it off as you guys knowing bout dancing. dancing is dancing no one is better just different styles. jabba is unique making them nice entertaining dancers. asians probably practice more making moves perfected and crisp for the precision. like i said no one is better than the other. now in terms of country... yea both of you guys pretty much fail, abdc is practically the ONLY show about dance crews but jabbawockeez do very much deserve their fame and prestige, n the other guy is def wrong about the individuals as some of them are some of the best in the business. Now if your saying for b-boys only, you have a point that alot of dance crew members lack in that department as international dancers are much better there, but any other types of dance america has a solid grasp on as well.

LOL. using the masks to emphasize a particular performance is COMPLETELY different when compared to always using the masks for every performance. If prepix wore the the masks all the time then yeah, it might be considered copying but this was all done for one show. Besides, masks are tools like anything else. A "free" (meaning not bound to ANY style) "style". You dance how ever you want in freestyle. Just like you can swin any way you want in swimming freestyle.

dont get attached to one definition of freestyle and try to apply it to other elements of hip hop.

What chotree7 said -- people dance with masks all over the world and have done so for literally thousands of years. This is something human beings do. Real artists like anyone dancing at this level get their inspiration from the world not just each other. Using masks is a way to say something and get people to feel/understand something, not just look cool.

and do you even understand why prepix use mask in this choreography? its to emphasize the choreography at 3:10 so that it gives the illusion they are melding into one another. if they didnt wear masks it would ruin the effect.
