Dude I need help with the Tascam DM 4800 we are so confused in my studio with it no one can seem to figure it out in Los Angeles, CA. We are trying to set it up to my macbook pro via firewire and running the USB cable from the macbook pro into the usb port on the console as well. We can't seem to sync it up to read.
Also, I tried that to set up the remote with Pro Tools and it didn't work. I don't understand. Everything I have in brand new and I follow each step, one by one perfectly. Thank you very much, tho, for your time!
Thank you, ver y much. So, you are saying that still have to use the 003? There is no way to record directly from the table to pro Tools? Not even, M power? Thanks again!
For the remote select MC for Logic in the DMs remote screen and 1 Logic Control and 2 Logic Control XT in Logic. Assign these to the USB MIDI Ports 5 to 7
@MrDinkybudd Hi MrDinkybudd, to use the DM-4800 with your setup you need to hook it up via ADAT to the DIGI 003 for the audio connection aand via USB directly to your mac for the remote connection. In the output routing window of the DM select for the ADAT Out the Buss 1.8, Direct 1-8 outputs and get the signal back via the Input channels 25-32 by selecting the ADAT in for these.

The unit offers all you need for this combination.
You have lots of mic pre's,A/D and D/A converters, onboard EQs, Dynamics and Effects onboard. Combined with what you have in the DAW you are well equipped.
hi, which DAW is the most recommended for controlling and record for this console?

@TrochezCovers
It works fine with most of the Workstations supporting the Mackie Control Protocol for Remote control. This includes Cubase, Logic, Sonar,...
It works as well with Protools using the Mackie Hui Protocol.

@billyinbrazil
No that is one of the limitaions of Protools. You do not have a free choice of the Audio interface.

@billyinbrazil yes it will work with avids new product protools 9

This table does not work with Pro Tools!

@billyinbrazil
I'm not sure what you mean.
You can connect it to a Protools System via for example ADAT I/Os and control Protools with the HUI Emulation.
The only thing is, you can not use the optional Firewire Card as Audio Interface, as Protools needs Avid hardware as Audio interface.
