A band could stick with the tried and true formula and make it huge, or they could take a chance and risk never making it anywhere. Not that I'm saying they shouldn't take risks, it's just that I can't say I blame them.

You may be right about that, but now we have an over-abundance of generic bands (in every sub-genre) that it's like water boiling right out the pot. They're piling up on top of each other like bodies, so many bands sounding like one another, how can anyone make it big these days if everyone just sounds the same? You get what I'm trying to say?

People are getting sick of the generic rock bands, the generic pop bands, the generic punk bands. Everything these days sounds factory-produced. The only new thing on the scene in dubstep/electronic music, which scares me, because that's not music at all. Sure, I can enjoy it a little, but we've gotten to the point where even our music is digital. And that frightens me.
