i had to drive my volvo through that, i got arrest cuz i had a body kit and modified engine. when i got it back my body kit and sterio was missing cuz someone broke into the lot and stole it. i had to pay another 1500 dollors for everything. and i tryed to sue and the jugde said i shouldnt have that stuff on my car. an said no to sue. i was pissed.

Its none of there business whats under my hood. As long as I'm within the law, smog, and CARB appoved parts that are legal for highway use. This still is America, and if the parts are legal to install and have them, I can put them on if I want to. No I dont street race my cars but they are all modified to my liking and tastes. Dont profile eveyone because of the actions of a few. Open more tacks up make it easier to race. The closest 1/4 mile track to me is 2 1/2 hours away.

@02mustangboy It's not just that, another issue is all the liability involved in tracks, you need helmets under a certain speed, cages under a certain speed, etc. Some don't allow bikes at all, others say you need full gear for a bike, it's kinda redic, I don't need to get my car or bike inspected on the road, I have to go through hell with that at tracks, and of course you only get to jump through these hoops once god knows how many days b/c of the lack of tracks, as you mentioned.

P71 crown victorias have no such chip or even a computer reflash. the only difference the cop cars have are stiffer coil springs with no air bags. they have dual exhaust, but then again so do some civilian crown victorias. there is no "police engine". it's all the same 4.6 modular ford.

I looked it up and there are different classes of police vehicles, yes the CV's still use the 4.6L V8, but they have a higher idle speed, tweaked transmission, stiffer springs, and a few other mods, on most vehicles. My friends got pulled over by a supercharged dodge charger police interceptor, with an aftermarket boost timer, and other suspension mods not to long ago.

Since when does modifying a car a certain way mean you're a street racer, or associated with street racing? How about any vehicle that has a speedometer over 70mph? Because after all, anything more than that is illegal. Its none of there business whats under my hood. As long as I'm within the law, smog, and CARB appoved parts that are legal for highway use. This still is America, and if the parts are legal to install and have them, I can put them on if I want to. No I dont street race my cars but they are all modified to my liking and tastes. Dont profile eveyone because of the actions of a few. Open more tacks up make it easier to race. The closest 1/4 mile track to me is 2 1/2 hours away.

@02mustangboy It's not just that, another issue is all the liability involved in tracks, you need helmets under a certain speed, cages under a certain speed, etc. Some don't allow bikes at all, others say you need full gear for a bike, it's kinda redic, I don't need to get my car or bike inspected on the road, I have to go through hell with that at tracks, and of course you only get to jump through these hoops once god knows how many days b/c of the lack of tracks, as you mentioned.

Riverside International Raceway had a drag strip (ran opposite direction to the road course) that started in backstretch, running opposite Turn 9 (later ran from the runoff past the kink) to just past the Bosch Bridge.

P71 crown victorias have no such chip or even a computer reflash. the only difference the cop cars have are stiffer coil springs with no air bags. they have dual exhaust, but then again so do some civilian crown victorias. there is no "police engine". it's all the same 4.6 modular ford.

I looked it up and there are different classes of police vehicles, yes the CV's still use the 4.6L V8, but they have a higher idle speed, tweaked transmission, stiffer springs, and a few other mods, on most vehicles. My friends got pulled over by a supercharged dodge charger police interceptor, with an aftermarket boost timer, and other suspension mods not to long ago.

Who the hell's business is it if people modify their cars? It's not illegal to put an intake on some honda, or to own an EVO. That's just cops using grant money to hassle people for no reason. I race autocross, and a little bit of dirt rallying in my daily driver, which is modified, and I would've been hassled because I like to race on the weekends. Completely ridiculous!

I live on Everest St & Garfield, (Between Jackson & Van Buren) Why put the checkpoint in this neightborhood? theres no street racing or else you would hear it. The loudest thing to come threw this Neighborhood is the Police Helecoptor. Since when does modifying a car a certain way mean you're a street racer, or associated with street racing? How about any vehicle that has a speedometer over 70mph? Because after all, anything more than that is illegal. I'll tell you why, because it's typically associated with a younger generation which is far easier to implicate in this respect, and typically far less able financially defend themselves in a court of law.
