I have perfect pitch, and sorry to disappoint you, but the guitar at the beginning is, in fact, out of tune. @paramore23jonathan Well.. i'm sure their in an air conditioned room.. Most.. if not all studios are air conditioned? Guitar strings are mostly made of steel and nickel ( electric guitar strings )... Steel and nickel are metal. Metal contracts when cold.. Which means that the strings will go out of tune?

Good. the higher you slide up, the more out of tune it goes, that´s just the law of physics. if you want a perfect guitar u need fanned frets, they will stay in tune on every position

What Chiodos82 is saying is partially correct. The guitar isn't "out of tune" it's tuned down a half step. As a vocalist/guitarist myself I know a lot of bands do this to make it easier to sing especially when he's sick. The guitar part on this song is normally played in Drop D tuning but for this performance (and most of their live performances) they played it in Drop D flat. It's not out of tune, it's just tuned down.
