I always felt that since MJ was there first before all of the other characters came on, he stuck with the Bulls when they were NBA cellar dwellers and he fought for them all the way to the top, the Bulls were MJ's team.

@illman300 -99 was a lockout year, you could've penciled them in for the title for that year because teams didn't have the usual time to prepare. That's why the god-awful Knicks made it to the Finals. Why break up the team when you can still win? Krause and Reinsdorf didn't want to pay Pippen a big salary, and that was that. I agree they didn't have much left, a year or two, but what organisation is too good to pass on Championships?

@tkcwu yeah but scoring champ and 22 ppg is a big differance, plus he scored that on one of the worst teams and scored way less efficiently. even sam cassell hit a game winner at that age, one game doesnt make him great...age defeats everyone, nobody can escape it, not even the greatest...

@dsfsdfdfhggf they wouldve been over the cap in 99 anyway (thanks to jordans 33 millions salary, 2nd was harper with only 5) so adding new players that would be of any real significance would be impossible (except a trade but theyd give away talent too and in a lockout season a trade wouldnt be good) which means the same team as in 98 would be competing for a title, and my point was all along i dont think they wouldve won another title with that core
