I fell into a deal with a rifle much like yours, although mine was almost free. Its a T99 that has the stock cut back. Mum is ground, but has the AA sights intact. Check Ebay for stocks. From what I've seen the parts for these rifles cost way more than a rifle itself. You'd probably come out ahead to sell yours and buy one off gunbroker or AA

@DFCincinnati yes I know that but it's was badly sporterized anyway. I would have loved to have the chrysanthemum intact but how many sporterized rifles do you see with that.

@sharpie443 yea i just got a kokira series 20 type 99 arisaka the mum has been netly defaced but my type 38 has the full mum but great rifle

In some ways, I hate that this sort of bubba-izing...in the others, I figure it's just part of an old rifle's history.

But...I wrote the above before I saw the "checkering" on the grip, there...

Saw Hickok45's recent video on a similar rifle...the ammo seems a little spendy. Maybe no worse than .303 British, though.
