  • awesomeness!

  • Best song on the planet after "Shut your fucking face uncle fucker"

  • If you ask the Lord with Faith he will always answer you! Proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

  • I'd see this even if I don't get a BJ...

  • Being a Mormon, and who has actually listened to this musical all the way through, I will say a good portion of it is accurate. It's... really blunt when it mentions certain things that we believe in, so it comes off as really strange. I will say that some of it is inaccurate, sure.

Some LDS people need to relax a little bit though. It's not like everyone who watches this will say, "Oh, this must be exactly what LDS people are like." No. Some people are smarter and more inquisitive than that.

  • i'm guessing you believe

  • I LOVE THAT ITS SO FUNNY AND HE'S GOT THIS AWESOME VOICE! LOLS! So glad its coming to TORONTO!! yippee!! Finally!

  • Why does he remind me of Bo Burnham?

  • @Victoria5128 McKinley reminds me of burnham.

  • I NEED to see this when I go to New York next time. :)

  • Damn!!!! Now I'm a Mormon!! lol

  • I just want to hug the computer every time I watch this... Is that weird?

  • As much as I love the performance here I think they should have gone with a more ensemble number to show off all the talent and the amazing choreography.

  • I'm a Mormon and I DO believe!

I'm also a musical theater major.

    So believe in that.

    LOVE this show.

  • AMAZING performance

  • awesome! just awesome!

  • I want to see the entire Book of Mormon. Any one know where i can find it?

  • @Smashlilman Pay to see the show in New York

  • @CryingHero

That sucks. I was wondering if they are selling video recording of the musical. There no way I'll be able to see it other wise.

  • 134 people are mormons

  • @igorkurtagic might be an accurate statistic.

...I am just kidding. Please. I don't need every pretentious member of youtube providing me with Mormon activism statistics.

  • Lets see 'em do one like that on the prophet Mohammad, and not end up decapitated.

  • @rkb100100

They all ready did dumbass. Mohammad was in the "Super best friends" episode of South Park. Comedy Central just went back and banned all there Islam related stuff after the Middle East went retarded over those Danish cartoons.

  • @rkb100100 I know, the fact that they don't is probably one of the few good things Mormons have left going for them... Mormons sure seem like a hateful bunch. They must all be so miserable if they are anything like you.

  • Matt stone and trey parker, Yeah.

  • sounds like a song that should be on a disney channel movie

  • His voice....ASDIOFGHAWEO;FUHIA AMAZING!

  • This is fucked up lmao

  • STEP TOUCH!! BELIEVE IN THE STEP TOUCH!

  • What if this goes to West End and the West End cast has to sing this on the Royal Variety Show in front of the Queen?

  • @psyaaahbishes I BELIEVE that the Queen will join in.

  • this guys amazing

  • If he is a brother in Christ, we all believe the same.

  • LOVED this show! very cleverly funny while also having a good message. well done!

  • Check out how the crowd goes crazy after his voice trill at 4:40. Awesome.

  • I am a mormon and I like it

  • @miltonyupi You do realize that it makes Mormons look like complete utter fools correct?

  • @KYBLUE72 You are missing the big picture of this play dude.

I'm an atheist but this play is all about people coming together and staying positive and optimistic, everything that Trey and Matt create needs to be taken with a grain of salt and not taking literally.

  • @TheFirm34 Yes all of that. And it exposes Mormonisms and their ridiculous beliefs, whether you like it or not. All religion is ridiculous, and it is great when someone has the balls to bring it to light.

  • @miltonyupi Not as much as you'll like the planet you get when you die, amirite? lol. mormons.

  • I just have a question.

I saw this show a few days ago,and didn't know why the following line is so funny.

    CUNNINGHAM:

Oh don't worry Dad, my little problem is "in check." It's not gonna be an issue.

    Please someone let me know.

  • @elisabethroll i think it might be that he makes things up a lot, because in the song "hello" the big voice (i forget who that is) says, "no no elder cunningham. you're making things up again." in a tone that sounds like he does it a lot... maybe. i'm not sure but that's my best guess.

  • i cant believe some people just believe without question you have to be pretty faithful or pretty stupid.

  • Not only did the creators of south park make this, Robert Lopez, which is the co-creator of another famous funny/crude musical on Broadway known as Avenue Q which won many tony awards, also helped Matt and Trey make it as well...

  • it sounds exactly like I have confidence from the sound of music!!!

  • @bahijian Its supposed to

  • Hell why do all you people send me the same thing a billion times??? If you've seen one person tell me Matt Stone and Trey Parker made this why do you need to tell me again?? And I know Matt and Trey made it, I'm a HUGE south park fan. I made that comment to be funny.

  • I have maggots in my scroooooootummmmm!

  • My teacher showed us this. We all started laughing except this one guy he got angry and left. Turns out he's a morman. And he just believes.

  • @Charlieroxs13 Kinda fucked up that a teacher would show this to a class though.

  • @mikline When you say "Fucked up", I say "FUCKING AWESOME!"... I wish I had a teacher that showed me videos like this instead of Algebra : /.

  • Applies to Evangelicals equally.... just change the part about Jews building boat to America....

  • I listen to this to motivate me when i do hw lol

  • @MusicalBeast1103 omg so do I!!

  • Do they wear the special bullet proof underwear in this play?

  • i just think the music is just awesome, and its a somewhat accurate depiction of our beliefs. :)

  • @Poleczech1988 Yeah, I'd say he's spot on. Thats why its funny. Mormonism is hilarious

  • well thats the defination of "faith". :) the absoulate belief in something that people or groups share in a common belief.

  • Lol @poleczech1988... Do you not realize that this entire play is all about making of fun how of ridiculous and unintelligent Mormons and all religions in general are?

  • This makes me proud to be a mormon....however i have to say that the only thing that was wrong here is that "god lives on a planet called kolob" but actually, we believe that kolob is a star. :-P

  • @Poleczech1988 You "Just Believe".

  • Magnets

  • I love that guy. His voice.His face.His teeth.

But watching this video is always hard.I always have to giggle because of the many times he licks his lips. xD

  • Shouldn't Mitt Romney get a guest appearance in this?

  • this should be the conversion video

  • im not exactly sure what i just watched, but um... I'm gonna go fall into a coma until the world blows up>... later everyone.

  • That's gotta be the best pickup line ever... "hey check out this video of me at the tonys"

  • He sounds like a Disney film voice actor (amazing)

  • The black people joke gets me every time... Not to be racist but to me I laugh every time..

  • What a great voice! :)

  • HOW. HOW DOES A VOICE LIKE THAT EXIST. My vocal chords must be doing something wrong. Damn.

  • Comment removed

  • This literally is a direct parody of "I Have Confidence" from Sound of Music. Now that's good parody writing.

  • Can't he keep his head still? He looks like a bobble-head doll.

  • Well, it looks like the Mormons have it all in the "The Book". No sense my being an athiest anymore.....Show me the way....LOL!!!!!

  • I wonder if Mormons understand this is a joke on their account.

  • This song should be put up against Mitt Romney. Real argument be damned, it's all that is needed.

  • I wish I could have seen David Hyde Pierce in Spamalot

  • If i heard "i believe one more time, i was going to shoot myself in the face."

  • This needs to be touring and made into a movie NOW!!!!

  • @DarkWolfMitaki

This looks like a scene from South Park because the people who made South Park wrote it......

  • @ilikepie138 Don't fuck really? (sarcastic)

  • One more day Andrew Rannells. You just have to survive for one more day so that I can see you perform tomorrow.

  • Does the introduction sound like Bali Ha'i from South Pacific, or is that just me?

  • Ive been to Utah lots of times for vacations and it really is the most beautiful state in the union. Why did the mormons have to move in and suck the fun out of it?

  • I love this and guess what? I'm Mormon!

  • @Midnightsunpm Don't worry, atheists are now de converting mormons posthumously so you will be free in the end.

  • This is stupid

  • it sounds like the beginning of "i have confidence" from sound of music!

  • over 450 for the most obscured seats... maybe they will put it on blu-ray or dvd soon...

  • @aaront1988 I got fantastic seats for 200 each. What, were you looking at those horrible middleman sites? Get them from Telecharge or Broadway.com, because this musical isn't going to be recorded any time soon.

  • 1:01 When did Mark Whalberg get here???

  • I like that almost as much as the talking dog tease. "covered it with what?"

  • Its coming to Toronto 2013! SO EXCITED

  • PLEASE bring this to Europe!!

  • I don't believe in God much, but if there is one, he lives in Andrews vocal chords.

  • did he win a Tony? cuz he should have.....hes a great singer/actor.....the only thing that is weird is that he keeps licking his lip lol

  • @simpsonfreak16 Nope, it went to Norbert Leo Burtz for Catch Me if You Can. I think him and Josh Gad divided the votes that year.

  • Jim Carry anyone??

  • Does anyone else totally see this being a scene in South Park? Hell this entire play could be converted to South Park and it would still make sense XD

  • @DarkWolfMitaki This comment is funny...because the show was written by the writers of South Park. ;P

  • @DarkWolfMitaki of course it would. it's the same creators. (as I am sure you know)

  • @DarkWolfMitaki You mean like the episode that they did do on the book of Mormon.

  • @DarkWolfMitaki You realize that the South Park writers made this musical, right? So it's not that surprising that it seems similar.

  • @pgfizzleboy No i know it was made by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, I'm just saying it would still work wonderfully in South Park form haha.

  • @DarkWolfMitaki well considering the makers of south park wrote the show, i just see it as the continuation of their mormon episode...i just wish they'd included that song "Joseph Smith is dumb dumb dumb dumb"..

  • @DarkWolfMitaki That's how they should make the movie!

  • @DarkWolfMitaki Considering it was made by South Parks creators, I'm not surprised. xD

  • @DarkWolfMitaki dude, duh. this show was made by the creators of south park and they even said they based it loosely off the mormon episode.

  • @DarkWolfMitaki this is from the creators of south park. look it up

  • @DarkWolfMitaki Well it is a play that was made by the creators of South Park....soooo.....

  • @DarkWolfMitaki seeing as it was written by the writers of South Park, this makes sense

  • @DarkWolfMitaki It was written by the creators of South Park

  • @DarkWolfMitaki might have something to do with the fact that they had already made the episode "all about mormons" in 2003, which was most likely a stepping stone towards this.

  • @DarkWolfMitaki Maybe that was because it's created by the makers of south park...

  • @DarkWolfMitaki The creators of south park actually made this XD

  • @DarkWolfMitaki You do realize it was written by South Park's creators, don't you?

  • @DarkWolfMitaki it was made by the creators of south park

  • @DarkWolfMitaki

That's because it was written by one of the writers for South Park.

  • @OxymoronicRomantic @DarkWolfMitaki it was written by both of the SouthPark creators, actually <:-)

  • @DarkWolfMitaki that ss because it was written by the same people

  • @DarkWolfMitaki lol dude the creators latterly made this. If you didn't know this when u commented then that would be hystarical

  • Press 5 and 9 over again

  • Yes I noticed the beginning to the "sound of Music." This is a cracker!!

  • ...did anyone else notice the "South of Music" similarities in the beginning of the song? LOL, this is brilliant!

  • Andrew Rannells is HOT

  • Thank Heavenly Father he doesn't do that weird tongue-flicking thing in the real show.

  • Absolutely amazing how well he sings this song <3 Turned into one of my favorites from broadway

  • You cant change a persons opinion by fighting with them, all it achieves is a lot of bad emotion and a lot more fuel to feed the fires, and that is not helping anyone. People should be alowed to think what they want and others should be respectful of that. Tolerence is something everyone should have a little more of, whether watching a clip like this or even reading someones opinion even if it is not your own.

  • @Mikazukiful Yeah, im with you

  • I wish people would just leave religion to be religion. I love this clip, i find it hilarious and im english (so we dont really have the kind of religious dedication.) and I dont really know what a morman is but i'll go look it up. But these are opinions being acted, the same as the comments on here.

  • AWESOME!!

  • to anyone to doesn't want to talk about anything but the most superficial level, you will be hard pressed to find a video hosting site with no comment section, but that is what you need. this show is not just a show, south park is meant to be social commentary and always has been, albeit in a crude way at times, also really subtly and well put at others. a good portion of their work, and obviously this one, pokes fun at the religious craziness that they have been exposed to all their lives

  • lol, featured channel is MormonMessages. Fitting.

  • Saw The Book of Mormon in NYC last year, GREAT SHOW if anyone gets the chance to see it (fat chance since how many tonys it got) then definently go see it, one of the best musicals ive seen

  • How was this described? An atheists love letter to Christianity? I don't quite remember the phrasing, but I love that.

Note: 4:50 - the I love the African guys expression! Priceless. I actually prefer his acting to that of the main actor. I just love it - I didn't know you could ring subtlety out of the 'what the bloody fuck' face.

    Well done, actor man!

  • amazing

  • That was totally the best performance of that night xD

  • That trill.

  • This is fantastic :)

  • whats the general's name?

  • fucking incredible

  • bullshitology whose follwer are hollywood ppl are the shitiest religion of all the believe in alien 2nd is this rel they are buncha child raping cult wat piss me of even more is they are rich they got rich by 1 man marry 7 women have 3 kids = they hav 21 kids apply for welfare 1000$ per kids they make 21000$ per month that include foodstamp i pay tax they also condone wareen jeb raping kids fuk shitt romney

  • @limwang75 ENGLISH, MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT?

  • @chickadii415 say what again. say what one more god damn time...

  • @direwolfmusic I dare you, I DOUBLE DARE YOU MOTHER FUCKER.

  • Comment removed

  • What's the satirical part of this? I mean, this is what they actually believe.

the church of LDS is so ridiculous, in order to be funny, you just have to literally say what they believe.

  • "In 1978 God changed his mind about black people" lOL!

  • You'll get a blowjob!

  • y do mormon condone waren jeb raping lil kids also im against ur polygami and ur treatment of women u r just like the muslims ur rel is liek a cullt dont like it

  • @limwang75 Not all Mormons do. Not even all of them in that church. Like not all Jews don'y eat prok or meat with dairy, not all Mormons believe in poligamy.

  • @limwang75 NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY SINCE YOU DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH.

LEARN ENGLISH, THEN TRY TO COMMENT. YOU ONLY LOOK STUPID.

  • this entire show is a comment on religion, how can you even think the delivery is "big picture"? It's like saying we should comment only on the artistic merits of south parks animation, or the songs, as opposed to the issues they are addressing. Yes it's a great musical, but it is a social commentary first. And may I just say, aids aids aids aids AIDS!

  • Book of Mormon won a Tony Award

for best Science-Fiction Performance lol Mormonism is the most absurd Religion Ever

  • Who cares about religion people...... Talk about the song and singing........ Man your forgetting the big picture why you are here to hear the song not to comment about religion. So who loves the song and acting??? Anyone???

  • @Gleekgirl1221 That's what I say.

btw I totally LOVE this song

  • That actually was a bit funny lol. But just so you know Lehi and his family were Gentiles (I think) not Jews and Lehi is mentioned in the Bible then just disappears... Why? Because they came to the Americas. Where did the Myans, incas, aztecs and American indians come from??? Jerusalem? I think so.

  • sunning!

  • I think the musical spoofs on both Sound of Music and Altar Boyz songs are brilliant!!

  • I'm a practising Mormon and that was funny!

  • I would love to see Mitt Romeny sing this.
