Thanks, I live in the United States and there aren't too many woo's left here. What do you drive now? I could've sworn I saw a Lanos vid on youtube that showed an engine with three spark plug wires, that's why I thought some models had 3 cyl engines.
@peeweecee oh well. Well i got a little sick of 4 clylinder cars. So i bought a mitsubishi Verada (Mitsubishi Diamante in US). Has all the feattures, leather , 3.5 V6 auto. Its in one of my videos. Beautiful powerful car:) And we have a 2011 aurion V6 and a subaru outback V6. So we upgraded all the cars to V6's.
Do you still have this car? Is it 4 or 3 cylinder? I think some of them had 3 cylinder engines. I have one in my garage... i think it's the only lanos left.
@peeweecee its a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder. I crashed mine a few years ago. And i guarantee you its not the last one left. Theres plenty where i live. And they were never a 3 cylinder
i'm driving one of these atm, had it for 4 months 1.4 1998 runs perfectly not smooth due to the fact it was in a crash with the previous owner, and has been stolen so it has had some history but the acceleration off the start flys, fucking heavy car tho.
@fkinbrillant Well i don't see how the 1.4 would go well considering the 1.5 was pretty god dam slow. It was a good car for me with how smooth and reliable it was. definately wasn't powerful or fuel efficient
@studogs80 with the 1.4 i have the previous has a very light body kit on it as you know the bonnet on these weigh a fuck load, yeah generally it works well and goes well compared to say my mates 206 1.4
yea mine was 99 i put 180,000km on it and it was still running perfect and purring when it idled:) you could hardly tell it was on at times:D put i wrote it off unfortunately
it would be ideal for running about sydney, recommend it! its a zippy little car, goes alright too but best of all its dam reliable, will never let you down. all the fronts smashed on mine but still starts and purrs. you dont even know its running its so smooth:)
ive had my Lanos since brand new in 2000 its a 2001 model had a accident in 2002 Tboned a full sized van the lanos totaled the van and all that happened was the bumper fell off it ran fine after the accident no problems got i fixed up under insurance and now its fine no major repairs just some brakes picked up a nail in both front tyres so new set of those and oil changes other than that not a single problem!
naa it looks okay actually! looks better inside than all of it competitors at the time. has nice cloth seats too. anyway who cares its sitting in the backyard smashed up. still runs tho lol
my mum had one. it was horrid! it soundid like it was going to expload when it hit 60mph and it broke completly after 3 years. then she got a vauxhall vectra. so much better. btw the deawoo was always driven carefully
well mine handles 110KM without even a shake at the wheel. Cars dont just brake. espicially trhe lanos. its got a good reputation for reliability. obiously not serivced properly. btw i wrote mine off and got a 2004 elantra. Much better;)
i had it in Korea last year. 1997 SOHC manual, 1.5. jumps at traffic lights impressively, very manuevable, roomy inside and nice milage. everything works smothly, or maybe i drove smoothly. but i have greatest impressions from this car.
lanos' are pretty dam popular around the world. in sydney there is tons of them runnig around. theres thousands of daewoos in australia, espicially the Nubira.
well i guess they just didnt make it in australia, my stupid mechanic was all against them untill i started servicing it at his shop. Even he said the engine were a lot better than he thought!! When you turn the key in my lanos it fires up in about 1 secpond and idles smooth ass
idk u guys my daewoo lanos is bad! payed 3150 and had 60000 miles then had a bunch of leaks and cost me 2 grand 2 fix it. now it has an oil leak.. i dont think its worth it. parts are way expensive if anyone decide 2 buy one now.
obiously its been neglected. and every car gets oil leaks, that isn't a sign of bad quality!! i bough mine with 144,000km (89,477 miles) 3 years ago, it had been neglected and i started changing the oil and caring for it and three yearsd later not even 1 problem. my daghter has had her lanos for 10 years now from new and no major problems at all!
I got a Lanos SOHC manual trans in 2000 with 0 miles on it. Ive put 110,000 miles on it so far and I can honestly say its a very reliable car, just remember to change the timing belt every 45,000 miles.
the indicator is on the left hand side...when i first got my lanos i hit the windscreen wipers a few times initally...now i only do it in other ppls cars :P why isnt everything the same!!! lol
Not long!! when i test drove it i hit the wipers a couple of times like TKindustrie and you do it occasionaly like if ur driving another car and u get back into ur lanos u hit the wipers lol! the bmw cars are on the left too!
studogs80 fairly covered it all!!! n yeh i definately recommend buying one...good car overall..i get 250km of city driving for $22-25 of petrol per week n thats on the Gold Coast...TRAFFIC CHAOS!!! like ne car you should get it checked out by a mechanic to make sure its in top condition :D
i got an NRMA inspection when i bought mine used 2 years ago with 144,000km's and i only needed a new exhaust that the dealer paid for and i found out it had no leaks and its got 160,000 now and is still going great hasn't broken down once!!
I have a daewoo lanos 1,6. But when i see this video it's so weird that the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car :)))). I love this car because it's so reliable, it has a nice look, and the engine has a really really impressive sound (just like a sport car :P ). Some of my friends keeps telling to change it to an other car, but i wont!!!! :P
cool! it's on the other side cause i live in australia!!! anyway i love my lanos too caus it's heaps reliable and zippy!! i love it. i bought it second hand with quite a few miles and its fantastic!! why did the person before me sell it?
