  • Charlie is impersonating Georgie Jessel, who was the Toastmaster General of the United States. That's why they're breaking up. Callas sounds exactly Jessel!

  • Don's laugh is funny and scary at the same time. It's funny because it a fun sound yet it's scary cause it sounds almost like a bad guy laugh

  • what fun and laughter they had then ,god rest those that are gone to him

  • Charlie Callas made the funniest people on the dais laugh... what a talented man.

  • Pure comedy Genius. Hats off please

  • I was lucky enough to be born in 1956, and live in America when it was America,

  • I love listening to Don Rickles laugh.

  • Let me just add that this is one of those RARE clips where the presenter (in this case the hilarious C. Callas) runs UNCUT, without the out of context edited laughter shots from others on the dais....there are numerous long shots here with Dino and Rickles clearly busting a gut right on camera and LIVE with Charlie. When Charlie exits stage left, it`s still all `live`` when Dino raises his arm in tribute while Charlie heads to his seat. Just incomparable.....

  • @LawrenceDavis I always wondered if those shots were edited in, thanks for cluing me in.

  • I wonder how many viewers here have a CLUE why Dino, Rickles and all the rest are killing themselves laughing...it all has to do with Charlie`s imitation of Toastmaster General George Jessel. Charlie`s references to the likes of Ricardo Cortez are obviously sailing WAY over the heads of your average youtuber...but Dino and Dan Rowan beside him are clearly ìn on`the joke....too bad most 2011 people watching this are simply out in the cold. WELL, AS LONG AS THEY`RE LAUGHING,I guess!

  • @LawrenceDavis Instead of criticizing those of who do not know who Ricardo Cortez is, why don't you explain? If it's over our head's, as you say, then perhaps that's because it was before our time? Thank you for telling us he's imitating Toastmaster General George Jessel.

  • Holy Cow!!!!, I had no idea until right now that Charlie Callas died earlier this year. Of course there wasn't anything on the news about this because one: he had talent,

two: he wasn't a drug addicted no talent actress/reality star and three: too many people today would have no idea what a funny funny man he was.

    Belated R.I.P. Mr. Callas

  • how could you not laugh your ass off at this lol

  • This is what's known as Laff Therapy!

  • Charlie was the best of the best; you can see it by the response he receives from all these talented people! Amazing! Love watching these old videos!

  • I love how everyone falls over laughing the moment he started speaking! SO funny! RIP Awesome man. TY for posting

  • RIP funny man.

  • I was in Vegas about five years ago coming out of a Rich Little show and almost bumped it to Charlie Callas. I talked to him for a couple minutes and it was one of the greatest thrills of my life. Such a nice man and he had me on the floor laughing. He did an impression of Brad Garrett and it was hilarious.

  • Why is Mike Krzyzewski roasting a 1970's comedian??

  • RIP. Thanks for the laughs.

  • RIP Funny Fell ....OWWWWW.

  • R.I.P Charlie - that's was a great Jessel)

  • GOOD OLD DAYS

  • Optimalillusion: You said it! Oh, so funny!!! Rest in Peace, Charlie Callas.

  • Just shows you that the truly great can rip you a new one without a single bad word used. And make you laugh while doing it.

  • R.I.P. to the entertainer's entertainer.

  • RIP Charlie.

  • i think instead of using guns in the middle east we should use jokes and make'em laugh to death :)

  • thats a fuuuny dude man.

  • callas did the same bit when he roasted jerry lewis from the friars club roasts.

  • EPIC!!!

  • When Callas came on and started his imitation of Jessel, I just burst into laughter and cried. He's so funny.

  • One of my favorites (truly) roasting one of my favorites..... simply amazing.

  • Those was the good TV days of the 70's

  • Laughter is a wonderful thing.

  • even foster brooks couldn't contain his laughter

  • I miss those days

  • Charlie doing Georgie! Insanely hilarious!!!

  • @KaptKan1 ... Thank you very much. I was watching this video and saying to myself, "Gosh ... I recognize that voice, but can't quite connect it with the right person. Who can this be?" Well, as you so wisely reminded us, this was a George Jessel impersonation. It left them dyin' and cryin'. Beautiful. and thanks again!
