One of those fast and excellent emergency team members was my daddy. That was the year before I was born in Landstuhl. I feel so heartbroken for the lost lives, yet I am so proud of my dad for is brave service. God bless.
My name is Ann and I'm using my friend's profile.
@Correlianum because of 2 points. the us/german injection needles wasnt compatible to each other that took a lot of time that dont have burned victims. the other point was the different tactics of the german and us rescue forces. in us they load and go and try to get as much victims as they can into the hospital.that cause a collaps in the hospital. german tactic is to bring mobile icu`s to the place of accident.another problem was the us security force dont let the ger resc forces onto the area
Two days before the show a pilot and a friend of mine were having lunch. He asked the pilot if he was going to the air show. "Not a chance! Not when the Italians are flying." A direct quote from a pilot who knew that team pushed the limits way past the envelope of safety.
Do you know who were the pilots that died during the disaster ?
Lt. col. Nutarelli and Lt. Col. Naldini.
These two pilots were involved in the Ustica disaster, they were two of the most important witness and they died just few days before meeting the judge... as almost all the USTICA witness... what incredible coincidence !!
D: 70 people died. 3 from aircrafts 67 O.o from the croud imagine seeing 1:19 coming towards you it hit 67 people thats scary ................. RIP AND GOD BLESS THE ONES WHO DIED
The solo pilot failed to miss the other planes... Jeez, 4 pilots and 67 people?! Thats unbelievable... This is probably the worst tragedy ive seen after 9/11...
@CosmicDestroyer99 that is correct. that was the deadliest. 84 people died and over 100 were injured when a Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker crashed into a crowd of spectators
no, it doesn't sound terrible. Nothing wrong with being fascinated by horrible events. It was such an amazing event that it stayed on my taped collection of comedians because that was the tape that was in the VCR when the news came on.
I can't take any credit for the shots or angles... and I wish there had been a means to digitize it a long time ago before the VHS tape started its "magnetic bleeding."
Neither did I and it's beyond my imagination to even grasp the slightest bit of what it must feel like to experience something this intense and tragic
My dad was there.

@slashfae
Why then does Wikipedia say the coordination of the emergency forces was just another disaster on this day of disasters?

This was before 9/11 but I think there was one in 2002 the Sknyliv airshow disaster

After, meaning that 9/11 was a bit worse (was it? I need to brush up on my facts...)

I know this sounds terrible but that was best footage i have seen from all the tapes i have seen from this event.
67 people in the crowd and 4 pilots died and almost 400 (387 i think) were injured.

I cannot believe that the German band Rammstein took the "Ramstein-Disaster"
as their band name...
in memoriam perhaps?
Gazimede 2 years ago 3
true. Before the were well know their name was Rammstein-Flugschau (Rammstein-Airshow). They added an extra m to make it translate as ramming stone
fcboerken1983 2 years ago 2
