  • LT really didn't mean too, you could see the worry in his face, and how he was in a rush to have the medical team get out there, he was just doing his job, he didn't know he was gonna land on his leg like that, I mean he probably still feels bad about it today

  • one the most famous quarterbacks of all time.. this was a hurting time for the redskins and that was the most painful time for Joe Thiesmans's time in the NFL.

  • they are acting like someon died, they put a lot more meaning into it than necessary

  • LT freaked out....It was a compound fracture. Bone breaking through the flesh, bloody ...and it was uuuuuglyyyy

  • That just shows how football used to be. People didnt "hate" eachother like today. They were rivals and they respected eachother.

  • @TheBullymagnet it's still the same, obviously a little bit of dumbasses but that's always been the case. Look at Willis or Ray Lewis they all have respect when the game is over..

  • OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • I agree with with the comments. LT didn't do it on purpose. He was doing what he was supped to do. It was a completely clean hit. It still gives me the willies after all this time!

  • Lawrence taylor didnt mean to break his leg. He was doing what he was supposed to do, tackle the quarterback. And as soon as he knew what he did he got help. He disnt just leave him there.

  • lawerence didnt mean to do it

    he played football

let the guy live dont h8 him cuz of this

  • You still get the willies watching it even now!

  • respect u lt but hate the giants

  • Never... playing... football... again...

  • Just because James Harrison doesn't apologize for his hits, doesn't mean he's an ass. Last I checked, he has yet to snap anybody's leg.

  • @KDouglas1616 obviously LT didn't mean to break his leg, while James Harrison knowingly and intentionally headhunts and hit low........... and last time I checked he never apologized for knocking anyone out of the game.

  • never played another down of football again.

  • KhanyisaOG

    UR A DUMBASS

  • It's joe's right leg

  • thats delicious

  • wow uh tht is...wow

  • I used to be a Quarter-Back, then I took a Lawrence Taylor to the Knee.

  • Me and my dad were at this game and at first nobody knew what the f*** was going on and then everyone was like holy s*** he's down!

  • The GREATEST DEF PLAYER EVER, after sacking the QB of a Rival team, stood up and peered down at the carnage he created. There was NO beating of his chest, High Fives or sack dance. Instead, he was the 1st person I saw motion to the opposing team's sideline for help. The GOAT, was more concerned about Joe's leg than his own ego.

    J. Harrison & the rest of the idiots who are famous more for their illegal hits than their "impact" (pun intended) on the game, aren't fit to carry LTs jock strap.

  • i wish more people could have class like Lawrence Taylor...........now its just James Harrison who is an ass

  • Joe theisman used to be good...then he took an arrow to the knee

  • Anyone know who was the home team for this game?

  • @Countrygirltori24 Redskins

  • @Countrygirltori24 Likely the Giants. Home teams usually wear colored uniforms.

  • I used to be a football player,.... then i took a lawrence taylor to the knee

  • That's what football used to be where somebody wouldnt want the other teams player to sit in agene.

  • @1payne4 I think you should be less worried about what football used to be like, and more worried about how you could possibly think agony is spelled agene

  • That's hardcore.

  • at 0:01 there is race car. :)

  • I know the LT really did regret what he did:)

  • @emdomo321 it didnt regret what he did. his goal was to sack him which he did. although he does regret what happened. but not that he did it

  • @finalfatasyfreak49 LT Did that on purpose.

  • @SP0KEDB He tackled him on purpose....

  • dosent it seem like the sholder pads were bigger back then?

  • Did his leg survive or was it amputated? damnnnn im cringing also check oupa ngulube leg break after that im sure u wont wanna play soccer ever again

  • @khanyisaOG wrong i watched it and i still play lol

  • @vcman11 Do it @ ur peril coz once u lose ur leg its game over anyway does joe theiseman stil play?

  • @khanyisaOG ur a dum*** he is like 60 now and they even said he wouldnt come back

  • @steamingmidget hey man I dnt follow football so i didnt know about this guy and to call me a dum*** ..... lets just say it takes one to know one

  • Did his leg survive or was it amputated?

  • @khanyisaOG He still has both legs but one is permanently longer than the other. He was just a guest on 94.1 WIP radio station today =)

  • Facemask never called on that play, another thug play by LT.

  • @LittlePetFan no faskmask it he grabbed him near the shoulder n wat would happen if they called a fask mask? joe theisman would have gotten up n said im good

  • @LittlePetFan He was in emotional distraught for ending JT's career. Why tack on the penalty

  • SNAP!

  • 0:52 yummy

  • Did the Redskins win the game? Who was the QB that stepped in for him?

  • Dang! That's 300 pounds coming down on one leg! I dont think legs were meant to bend like that.

  • Your momma sent me here

  • it wouldnt have been as bad if it wasnt for the pile up

  • RoosterTeeth sent me here.

  • we r watching this is school as an xtra class.... idk why but poor dude LT ended his career and the reason lt acted the way he did is cuz hes claustriphobic

  • thats because quarterbacks throw off the power of their legs , footwork and foot placement is crucial for accurate passes.

  • Due to insufficient bone growth the injury left one leg shorter than the other.

  • Why did a leg break end his career as a QB though? I could see if he was a running back or a receiver.....

  • @rhaydon6784 If it was his left leg then maybe it wouldn't but all that pressure goes on his right leg in his drop backs.

  • @rhaydon6784 Are you nuts his fu**ing bone came through his skin anyway Qb i think use the most leg scrabbling in the pocket, running the ball, if he would keep on getting sacked he most likely would have never been able to walk again

  • @rhaydon6784 duurrrrr the arm isnt the only thing a qb uses if he played after that dropping back for a ass it prolly woulda broke again

  • this happened to me

  • To kiwi1187 Joe Thiesman's QB rating was 77.4 because he didn't play the whole season. Joe Thiesman played as the starting quarterback for 7 years and took us to 2 superbowls and yet you brag about Romo who has played for 8 years, no superbowls and he struggles constantly. Romo will be easily forgotten when he retires as for Joe Thiesman he will always be remembered as a legend.

  • @Vinny7553 In all fairness, Joe had a lot more to work with too, a great O Line, great receivers and one of the best coaches in NFL history. I've always liked Joe, he wasn't a big guy but he was definitely a great athlete.

  • @Vinny7553 In fact i was talking about his career. the year Theismann broke his leg his rating was a pathetic 59.6 through 11 games, his CAREER rating was 77.4, and that includes being bolstered by a "yearly" rating of 149.1 in his rookie year of throwing 11 passes, without which his career rating is approx. 71.3.

I wasn't "boasting" about Romo, i just find it laughable that a guy who had 2 seasons that were good statwise (82 and 83) continually says himself that Romo puts up shocking numbers.

  • @Vinny7553 And one final thing, as @mustwinder rightly said. The Redskins that year were a damn good team across the entire depth chart. 2 superb receivers, a solid running game behind "the hogs", a special teams unit whom were faultless (didn't your place kicker win MVP for the first time in that position?). And of course the defence who also had a pretty phenominal year! Compared to what Romo has been working with these last few years, i think JT and others need to look at the TEAM behind Romo

  • @Vinny7553 Thank you.I've been saying the same thing about Romo for years and all I get is "Shut up." Finnaly someone agrees with me.

  • @Vinny7553 nahh hes know more for his injury

  • This was the best thing that could've happened to Theismann, he has gone on to become an analyst who criticises the players of his teams rivals. He went off at McNabb because of his accuracy, and yet during his career his completion percentage was even worse, and now he is saying Romo can't play QB, despite Romo besting him in near every single category.

    Romo's QB rating: 95.3

    JT's: 77.4

This guy would have been a nobody had Lawrence Taylor not put him out of his misery and shot him to fame.

  • @kiwi1187 How many SB's has Romo won? Thought so.

  • @TheFreshKidd9411 I'll just point to Dan Marino and Fran Tarkenton then shall i?

  • @TheFreshKidd9411 Oh, and let's not forget that Barry Sanders never won a superbowl, different position dure, but as my point has always been, teams win championships.

  • @kiwi1187 This is just plain ignorance. Joe T was a great QB & won 1 SB & was in another. He had already been in the league for over a decade when this happened, was on the down side of his career by 1985. What has Romo ever won btw? Has he even gotten his team to a Championship game yet? Didn't think so.

  • Quentin Sands does it AGAIN!!!!!!!

  • 0:53 owwwwwwwwwww....

  • bunch of pussies

  • When you see Lawrence Talyor jump up like that and start freaking out... you know something bad happened.

  • See what eric foster did? Now i watched this again and puked my dinner.

  • haha dam way worst than the colts injury

  • The colts game sent me here

  • Same, that was nasty

  • Same, is there a vid yet of Eric fosters?

  • i watched this after seeing eric foster for the colts have this happen

  • Comment removed

  • You know the guy had to be fucked up if LT was yelling for help. Poor Joe, was that a monday night game? I think I was watching that with a bunch of friends in high school.

  • What Year Is This ?

  • eww

  • thank god for the blind side

  • THIS NIGGA GAY

  • And yes I know that most of the hits back then AREN'T LEGAL today... Jack Tatum is a good reason why....

  • The NFL back then was more Rough then it is today... I mean look at the Defensive Line and how they just fuckin pound the Offennsive Line and CRUSH Joe Theismann... You wont see that kinda players today...

  • drunk tank ;)

  • Ik how u feel I broke my leg championship game if wolverines Derry new Hampshire I broke tibia and fibis compound brake almost broke skin both bones broke completely and havnt been tht good at football since I had metal plate with screws and stuff

  • Setup.

  • That's nothing compared to in this one video look up "soccer guys breaks leg" it'll have hardcore in the title but its nasty

  • This was not a set up how dumb could you be? Honestly you would purposely have nasty injury like that?? Shit

  • @99313will how the *ell do u purposely do that huh?

  • this was at RFK in 1985

  • Still the worst injury to watch. The slow motion video is torture.

  • @VikeFan284296 type in oupa ngulube leg break. new worst injury to watch.

  • You know shits bad when LT is waving for a trainer and grabbing his helmet.

  • @99313will oh ya totally ya BS

  • Dam WTF was that!

  • OH GAWD *vomits*

  • Homer Simpson's reaction to the injury on the Simpson's pretty much sums it up.

  • taylor was yelling for help to come onto the field, good job lt

  • what happened?? i missed it

  • I almost cried laughing at 0:33 when he said He probaly felt worse than Joe at the time, AHHA! I don't think sooo, he may of felt sick to his stomach but I don't think he had a worse feeling than a leg getting folded book style.

  • @PANTERAcfhGETCHAPULL According to another interview, Joe Theismann said he lost feeling for an instant and didn't feel any pain.

  • Ohh ma GADDD!!!

  • its impossible LT felt worse than joe

  • @nauris706 Theisman actually didn't feel anything. He said the endorphines rushed to his injury and he didn't feel a damn thing.

  • @99313will your a dumb ass, how can u break your own leg on purpose, try breaking your own leg on purpose 4 attention and maybe we'll beleive u... Unless u alredy did ASSHOLE!!

  • @99313will You are actually dumb as a rock. Just shut the fuck up.

  • Actually, 36 is really old in football. Like REALLY old.

  • he's kind of an idiot, you can tell from the interview

  • @forbasketballonly Actually know he's not lol. Maybe you are. Just a thought.

  • @SportsGuy2194

hm ok maybe not an idiot but idk he seems like he's high on sugar. maybe a wierdo

  • @99313will

ok, yeah, he totally broke his leg on purpose.

  • No rehab could evar fix that...

  • Hey, at least it was 36 .. not at like 25 or something, at least he played a long enough career

  • LT must've felt so bad!!!!! poor joe had to retire at 36!!!!!

  • Can someone break Theismans leg again in the announcers booth so he will shut up.

  • JACK SPRAGUE

  • Shows that Lawernce taylor has heart

  • @MyNameIsFergie11 LMAO Ummm, no. It has been documented that Taylor was high on coke during this game, this moment.

  • @Gilch30 Never seen that documentation.

  • @MyNameIsFergie11 Shows that Lawrence had Claustrophobia...

  • Got nothing on Shaun Livingston's knee injury

  • @daviddeuel23 stfu

  • thats really gota hurt!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You spelled Quarterback in the description wrong.

  • I Broke my leg and it looked the same exact way so i know how much pain he was in

  • If only everyone had this much sportsmanship.

  • OOOOh fuck... holy shit. That was just a shocking break. I've never seen a break like that.

  • omg......i would be in tears if i did that to someone. i have to bug of a heart lol

  • @SteelersFan1734 dont get me wrong i watch football i just dont know about the old hits like these i can name a few of the hall of famers but i never heard of this play until blind side

  • @SteelersFan1734 no sir

  • LT called out the medical group thats sportsmanship

  • I have broken my leg a couple of times, I can't begin to imagine the damage I would have suffered if there was the weight of another human being on me as I fell, especially when I slipped on ice and fell in pretty much the same way he did.

  • thumbs up if blind side brought u here

  • Legdendery Joe Theisman never played a game of fotball again

  • I have this game i also have it on YOUTUBE look up my Videos

  • when LT looks concerned..... O SHIT!

  • Ugh... reminds me of prothrow's injury...

  • break a leg theisman!! well.. not literally.. lol..

  • a pro wrestler named sid broke his leg the same way and i thought that was the worst break ever but he jumped off the top rope and it snapped he was untouched....joe theisman broke his leg and was still under massive weight of players i can only imagine the agony and pain

  • i dont know whether to dislike this video because of the injury or to like it because of the sportsmanship.

  • I see an incidental facemask by LT -never noticed it before.

  • was this at Giants Stadium or RFK

  • @ENGLANDNEWENGLAND007 It was at RFK...the amazing thing is, with the laws of cause and effect in football, had Joe Theismann not gotten his leg broken, he probably would have had a HOF career, because he played in two Super Bowls...and another thing, because of Theismann's injury, the Redskins got...none other than Doug Williams, who won the Super Bowl two years later...

  • @ENGLANDNEWENGLAND007 Giants Stadium was artificial turf in 1985...

  • Man! Good Thing he's stil wukin

  • ever since then, Joe Theismann checks under his bed for L.T.

  • Watched this after watching Rajon Rondo in Game 3 of the Celtics v Heat.

  • @TheMegaTronKwam fk celtics

  • remember there is only 1 LT and then there are wont abes ,lawrence taylor

is the real thing in case you are a kid and dont understand why hes so famous watch

his sacks and tackles and wild hits and making players fear him then you kids will

see.al yah! kids be careful if you meet LT, because he like young ass too

  • I THOUGHT IT WAS THE OTHER L.T. SHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • Alot of Players now a days doesn't motion for help because of an injury especially if their the one that caused the injury. I seen alot of helmet to helmet collisions,Late hits Helmet to the back, QB Sacks etc Player will be down on the ground laying on his back while the other one is jumping around and beating his chest with his fist as if he is proud of himself for making a clean hit. At least be Human and kneel down to see if he is ok. Example: Youtube search Charles Martin slams Mcmahon

  • @insidetheredzone At my High school when some one is injured evan our own guy were talkin to the coaches deciding what play to do wich is kinda dumb.

  • this is why LT means Lawrence Taylor

  • i feel worse for taylor. to have that on your conscience for the rest of your life would kill me.

  • @corky541

  • What's weird is that Tim Krumrie (A DE for the bengals) had a leg injury in which I thought was worse than this, yet he still came back and played.

  • walk it off

  • "Joe, this is a heck of a ..." what's he say?

    I can't quite understand it.

  • @TAz69x this is a heck of a mess you've left me

  • regardless of your feelings of him LT was a class act man and he changed the game and made it what it is today

  • 0:54, oof

  • Ouh, That's gotta leave a mark in the morning!

  • On my sister's account. That was a perfectly legal tackle, Joe's leg just snapped by being bent and LT jumping on him. Im not just saying that because I love NYG. P.S. LT is was a huge and scary player back then, to see him calling for help like that tells you it is SERIOUS.

  • They talk about people likeTaylor and Tatum and Butkus...but the real tough guys in the league are the QB's and the receivers.

No question.Try doing your job, while your life is on the line. You have people trying to break your neck, and you still are focused on throwing or catching the ball.

Courage, or toughness isn't always measured by what we see on a football field. I bet in many of life's situations, the would be tough guy would blink before someone with the character of a QB or WR.

  • @6400az People aren't trying to break their necks they're trying to get them down but yeah they are tough

  • @guppey09

Supposedly one should try and just bring them down, but in football people DO, in fact, try to hurt and main.

Have you seen the video of Brandon Spikes eye gouging a runningback whose already tackled?

  • OMGGGG aaahhhrg

  • very sad to future hall of famer
