I have a 95 with the 4 liter and it sounds like i'm starting a god damn war plane at 6:30 cause of the fuel injection... -_- just let it warm up is all you gotta do.
I belive this is the fuel pump check valve. If you have this please try turning the key on for 3 sec off (do not wait while off) immediately turn on agan for 3 sec- repeat 4 times then crank. So on 3 sec off .5 (piont 5- as in a half a second!) repeat 4 times then crank. The fuel system stays at high pressure to qiuckly start, if it loses this pressure you must re-pressurize it before it will run, Other causes of this are dirty idle air control, or like mine a bad coolant sensor caused this.
you shouldnt have to ever " pump " a fuel injected engine. The gas is sent via computer comand through, what else, injectors, not by you pumping the pedel. But that engine needs some serious looking at. Could be a computer issue or a fuel pump issue. In the words of the great Van Helan, " somebody get me a doctor ! "
At 3:08, did I hear you rapidly pumping the gas pedal? BOY the poor Jeep was majorly flooded, it was struggling to clear-out. You should never pump the gas in an EFI car.
What gave it away was your tach jumping around all over the place, those go out ALL THE TIME on cherokees.. They will leave you stranded randomely too.. But dont let that discourage you there easy to replace, and the cherokee is a fucking great truck!
@JEEPIOIIIIIIIIOI my jeep (the same modle as this guys) takes almost a mintue to start and you gcant hear the fuel pump hum ....whats wrong :( ....is it a fuel pump or a bad idle control or throtel position sensor?
@MegaXcookiemonsterX Most likely a crank position sensor, and to be honest in my 96 (yours is a HO too) my fuel pump is pretty quite I can hardly hear it too. Your fuel pump either works or it doesnt theres usually not an inbetween..
Remove the air intake and have somebody spray starter fluid, or brake clean or something in the thottlebody see it help that would tell you if its a fuel delivery issue or not
@floodedcaddy fuel injected bro.. every morning, i spend 3 - 5 min to start the engine because its only cranking and when i start the engine i have to floor on the gas, it helps me a little bit
@floodedcaddy first time i start it, when i turn 'ON' the key, there is no 'vibrating sound' or like purrrrrrrr (maybe its the fuel pump or something) before cranking the engine. so what will happen if i crank it for the first time, it will no start, it will only crank and i will maybe repeat this step for 10 times before the 'purrrrrrrrrrrrr' sound will come, the sound by the way is heard from the backside of the car.. maybe the fuel pump is damaged already or just some sensor?
@ski14dxb Since you're not hearing that purring sound, it sounds to me like it might be the fuel pump, like you said. When the fuel pump went out on the 98 Z71 truck I used to have, it was like your situation--no humming sound at all when I turned the key on.
UAE, huh?? Dubai?? I've been there.......It's a great city. I had fun there. :)
@floodedcaddy pumping it wont do shit on a fuel injected engine....the engine computer ignores the throttle position sensor when the engine is cranking anyways, the computer is preset to fire the injectors at a certain rate when the engine is cranking over
Have you checked your crank sensor? Most common problem for a crank, no start.

Is it carbureted or fuel injected?

@ski14dxb That's really strange....It really sounds like it's not getting any gas. Try pumping it when you're cranking it.
