I am unfortunate enough to experience sleep paralysis on a regular basis (at least once a week). If you have never experienced sleep paralysis, count your lucky stars, because it is utterly terrifying (no matter how many times you experience it) and it assaults you in the hours of your life which are meant to be the most peaceful... sleep;  And while I am aware that this song is not about sleep paralysis... I can imagine it being the soundtrack to my vivid nightmares. It just fits so well.

The use of this phone call seems like a cheap trick to make a mediocre song rememberable, the person in the phone call geniunely suffered and the songwriter just used this while whining about some stalker she had.

I listen to Throbbing Gristle, Xiu Xiu, Scott Walker and a ton of other shocking artists, but this is the first time I've ever been offended by a song

Dude, this song isn't about some girl complaining about some nerd who won't go away.

This song is about a girl who wakes up in the middle of the night to the sound of a man sneaking through her house in the dead of night, only to find herself completely at his mercy as she's pinned down by the psycho while he tells her again and again that he loves her.

Couple that with that phone call playing, you got some serious Nightmare Fuel goin' on here, man!
