  • Do you have to bring your own trees?

  • good job. =D

  • I have never camped with a hammock. Are there any issues with staying dry if it is raining by the time you arrive at your campsite? It's not the easiest thing to keep a tent dry but it's been doable for me.

  • All your arguments for sleeping in a hammock are true, but (and this is a big BUT) not all people can fall asleep in a hammock! I have tried it myself several times and (unfortunately) I just can not fall asleep. Many people are not "great sleepers" which means they don't sleep easily and/ or very well.

  • Keep in mind that backpacking offers 3 choices which is a tent, tarp or hammock. Hammock have less pressure points therefore you rollover less than on a thin sleeping pad laying on the ground. I admit that someone who is not a "great sleeper" probably will not do well in a tent or under a tarp either . I guess if a person was underweight and had a good quality inflatable pad they might do better in a tent pitched on a soft flat area? ....anyway....when nature calls at 2 am the tent is easier!

  • hehe i ll get one like this. Thats gonna be my house. When i am messed up with my secure live i take the hammock and go and see some different places. Thats the advantage if u dont have to chase carrots because u ve planned ur whole live.

  • no5 sleep anywhere anytime?

not in the Scandinavia, when trekking in the mountain of Norway there is almost NEVER a single tree for miles and miles, and the ground is rock and with a few centimeter of moss on it

But i guess in your area, it can be used anywhere anytime

  • There are no rocks or crevices in the entire treeless Nordic wilderness between which there is enough vertical and horizontal space to string a hammock? No cracks in rocks where you can wedge a knot? Get creative, and my bet is that you can find a spot for a hammock much more often than you can find a flat, dry tent spot.!

  • Most of scandinavia is woodland and hennessy hammock is perfect for that habitat, Einstein...

This is why we call you "fjeld-aber"( hill monkeys)

  • true, but the places i have been, Haddangervidda, in southern Norway there was´n a tree for miles...

thats why i brought my tent along :-)

But here in Denmark you can´t go anywhere, except the city´s of course, without seeing a tree, so there a hammock is perfect

  • I have'nt got my Hennessy yet, so I properly have to use my Akka again this weekend when I go to Sweden with the militia ; )

  • I found a few online photos of Haddangervidda--it is pretty flat! It's also hard to get an idea of the scale of the fissures and rocks laying around. But I still saw a few boulders that looked tall enough and close enough together for hammock hanging, if you bring a long enough strap to wrap around. Lars--I hope you get your hammock soon. I bet you'll love it. I'm looking forward to using mine in a few weeks in the hills near Lake Osoyoos, on the WA/BC border here in North America.

  • is that a HH or a diy???

  • looks like a Clark NA
