Pretty cool Shepard's face. The default one looks kind of scary in an unsettling way, but is perfect for a full-on renegade playthrough while bulldozing through sociopathic options... it's a good laugh after beating the game.

Alternatively, could watch "commander shepard is still a jerk" for similar effects of course.

Not sure if you're kidding, but the simple names like "John/Jack" and the whole "short brown hair-square jaw-no distinguishing features (bar possibly one)" package is a marketing ploy to make the main character as generic as possible, and thus easy for the target audience to project themselves onto.

Kind of annoying with how common this trend has become in games lately, but hey - at least there's customization in ME.

@NinjaOnWheels Mass Effect one is a bit different then ME2 through, you should look up the differences but, mainly ME1 has infinite ammo but, overheating, skills and equipment mangement is not as smooth and easy to do, and you have to drive around a lot...

Constantly having +100% shields and having powers to take down every type of defense makes it the easiest class to play as.Plus once you get extra weapon training the Assasult rifle it just makes everything piss easy.The soldier however will always need team mates thanks to it not actually having any powers to take out shields and armour.

@Markgangzta Sentinels may do everything, but they do it poorly. And Soldiers don't need teammates. In case you forgot, they have ammo powers and access to every 'primary' weapon in the game. Pair that with weapon upgrades and they can take out shields and armor faster than any other class. Not to mention Concussive Shot does do 3.5x damage vs Barriers. Plus Adrenaline Rush gives +100%damage and +50%damage resist making you a walking tank AND effectively quadrupling the Mattock's DPS.

@bvans187 The ability is exclusive to the vanguard class... I believe it is called charge. It's a biotic ability that allows you to pass through barriers and slam into enemies... you can also use it to run away... which he might use it to do that too, becuase he is playing on Insanity difficulty

Adept is really fun actually, I'm doing a playthrough on insanity using one and it's very challenging: classes that dont use teammates dont exploit all the game has to offer, imo, which is what adepts do best.

I'm sad to hear you write off the Adept. I beat insanity mode on the adept, it wasn't nearly as hard as I expected it to be. I find the adepts powers to be far more useful than anything else you might get from a starter class. Plus, playing a biotic means you don't have to waste teammate spots on one.
