can someone recommend to me a site that gives me lots of tutorials like this one. ive been taking lessons for two years and like most of you im not trying to be a concert pianist just want to play some r&b in a band sometime soon. ive been taught to play chords with the right hand and bass or root with left. is this the correct way to learn. i am really getting frustrated. ive taught my self more from fakebooks than two years of teaching has taught me .can someone help me>

When I try to play along with a band or when someone is singing, I feel so ignorant because I have no idea what to do.

I only know how to play the melody and I'm stuck in the same ole stride style of piano.

This -- 'Just the way you look tonight' -- is just what, is only what, most people want: we want to play accompaniment, not become bloody concert pianists, not even to play melodies. Just banging a chunk of fingers down to sing against. The time I wasted learning really stupid detailed stuff, like embroidery detail when all you want to do is stich a couple of bits of cloth together. This is what people want.
