  • i love weather and storms like this, its a thrill.

  • I live in Austin and honestly, it was AMAZING. I saw the tornado up close and it was just INSANE. And then we had another tornado, SAME EXACT DAY, a year later! Freaky, eh?

  • geez i would've been scared out of my mind if i was on that plane, i get freaked out if the plane even goes through a white cloud

  • ok....who pissed off zeus??

  • i can always remembr this happened to me wheni was flying back home from Las vegas:) but it was night time and all you seen was white and orange bolts of lightning through the clouds.. it was amazing xxxxxx :)

  • OH MY GOD.

  • So this is what it feels like to be God. :] lol.

  • I find this hard to believe that it's the tornado in Austin. That tornado started just a couple of minutes past 8:00 p.m. and being above the clouds the sun should still be shining bright.

  • haha thats why they never tell you what f it is cuz they cant see it lol. "uh, there is a tornado over there so go down to your basements"

  • Wow, simply amazing video! Awesome lightning storm viewed from above. I love thunder/lightning storms. Wish I could see these things in person.

  • lightning party!

  • " For now, enjoy being in the plane; safe from the snow and from TORNADOES!"

  • I live in Austin and that was a horrible night. There were multiple tornadoes forming and dispersing but the edges of town were destroyed. It ended up knocking the power out for a day and a half. I remember walking around town with my friends when it was over and it was tragic.

  • Sorry sir, but a supercell anvil is much, much taller than what you were filming. Commercial aircraft have to completely steer around a large cell when it is mature. There's also cirrus blowoff from shear that usually makes a SC hard to see. You saw a T'storm. It's still a neat video.

  • @fishelfinder I don't see where he says anything about a supercell. He clearly states he filmed this"lightning storm" while flying over MN. It was a co-worker that told him there were tornadoes in that area about the time he filmed this. You don't always need a massive 60,000ft anvil to spawn tornadoes. Just sayin'

  • I also live in Albert Lea, remember the day well, that sure came up out of nowhere.

We did storm spotting, first spotted the tornado near Geneva, MN, then it moved toward Austin. Thanks for the great footage from the air.

  • dats so kwl !

  • spectacular lightning.

  • &&&& that is so crazy how its perfectly fine everywhere around us,, haha thats so insanee

  • I live thereee;; That was such a great storm ! i have video from right under the tornadooo ! sweet stuff:)

  • I live in Austin, Minnesota, and I saw the funnel clouds forming from the ground that day, obviously, but seeing it from the sky is awesome.

  • Nice video!

  • cotton wool and a flickering light bulb :)

  • Absolutely Amazing!! Thanks for posting this up! That was a hell of a storm!

  • that spectacular and beautiful

  • GREAT VIDEO AWESOME

  • I live in Albert Lea, the cloud cover was strange! Northern end of the sky was full of super dark clouds, and the South was spotless!

    Amazing.

  • @MatheLehrer011 ok i feel sorry for u cause their was 2 tornadoes in 2010 near hayfield 2 time OoohHHHH i live in Austin its FREEKKY!

  • @MatheLehrer011 That's a dry line for you

  • That day was awesome there were lots of cool storms. i wish that i could have seen the tornado though...

  • i happen to live in minnesota, that happened resontly (duh) and i remember tornado warnings and watches all over the state!

  • Awesome! I didn't know that lightning bolts don't leave the cloud at the top.... it seems like they all were created within the cloud... perfectly contained inside of it.

  • That's epic mayn !!

  • You were lucky you had your camera with you! Amazing footage! Wish I had had mine. We watched a funnel form near the downtown area, which thankfully didn't touch down at all.

  • omg this is so crazy. i was watching the sky after the tornado went threw and i seen an airplain going over and i was just like wow i bet it would look even cooler from that plain and what do you know now i get to see what its like. CRAZY!

  • That's pretty. =] 5/5 stars!

  • I filmed this from the ground. It was spectacular from there as well. Those clouds are so ominus, so mysterious. They don't even look like clouds! Who knows? I might have gotten some of the same lightning on film as you!
