  • black music its not rappppppp

  • When I was about 23 I played this on a jukebox but some moronic idiot with no idea about music tipped the machine to eject it and played some rebellious rubbish instead.

At the time I listened to motown, beatles, rolling stones, and all the other 60's music but I also enjoyed a bit of quality now and then and turned to stuff like this assuming there were no idiots around, I am no longer bothered about my favourite music of the time but never tire of listening to music like this.

  • What a tender and romantic song year 1958 , I was 13.

What a voice of soloist and idem the "choir", It seems to me like to be in heaven

    Santiago, Chile

    Thx to John1948Ten for posting

  • @ferdinando1945 You're welcome. I was 10 in 1958 but my older brother and sister were into rock and doo-wop so I was listening to it too.

  • My favorite, the Platters, especially Tony Williams . Thanks for posting.

  • One of the greatest performances of a great love song, the incomparable Tony Williams the front singer.

  • this song is so beautiful, and The Platters is so perfect for it!!!!

  • maravillosa cancion del recuerdo.

  • Tony Williams did have a great voice. Saw him in Tokyo in 1962 after he had gone solo. Unfortunately his career as a soloist was not too successful. Yet at the same time the group also failed to continue with their past successes. Not unusual for most singing groups; somehow it begins to fall apart, egos get in the way of what got each of the group to where they were. Still, The Platters were superb.

  • Goosebumps all over again

  • I just cant believe how awesome his voice is....i play this song when I am depressed and it just makes me feel so good. What an awesome voice...

  • i love it very much,thanks.

  • I was 17, he was 18....oh god!

    Thank you for this!

  • I was 17, he was 18....oh god!

  • I get shivers all over my body listening to this. Not only a magnificent voice but genuine emotions as well. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

  • ?Sweet? No. Beyond sweet. A divine gift. Supreme. A work of G-d.

  • Such an incredible range, and the memories of listening to the old 33 and a 1/3's with my mom and brothers. Thanks :)

  • just a beautiful song so lovley on the ears

  • Just few singers can do these vocal changes with ease and grace this guy was

out of this world, he sang like a real star what a beautiful tone, I wish he was still

around just to see him live. thank you for the music.

  • @auroralight40 As John1948Ten said, you misread my comments. And while I am probably a little younger than you, I sadly no longer qualify to be called a "young people". ;-)

  • @auroralight40 I think you need to read Kram's comment again. There was no disrespect to the Platters in it. He was discussing the meaning of the lyrics.

  • First heard this song on Love Boat when J J Good Time actor was in the dancing

in the lounge dancing .Great song.

  • I look movie of Platters first.

    Thank you so much!

  • My favorite song by The Platters. They were wonderful! Why can't we have music like this today?

  • You don't suppose they were lip syching that song do you? It just don't matter, a beautiful classic anyhow!

  • @jackeedog1 Old video, with updated digital audio. The audio that would have been on the original film would be mono and full of cracks and hisses.

  • Beautiful vocals. However, anyone couple who choses this as their song are clearly ignoring the lyrics. Basically, this song is about your hormones talking.

  • @Cephas Oh please, why does everyone have to be so full of it? Go check the lyrics. They are about love being blind. Blind to other's imperfections and the treachery of unfaithful lovers. Hormones obviously are involved with our emotions but to say this song is about hormones is akin to saying its about marijuana.

  • Normurr

This was the song that my first real love (Corinne) and I chose as our own in 1958.

    What great memoreies

  • I got to see them live many years ago in NYC and the memory will last a lifetime Tony Williams was one of the best singer I ever heard.
