Here, when you get the time, look up a list of bad and good movies according to Armond White. As you will see, he apparently prefers Transformers 2 over Iron Man, the second Fantastic Four over the Dark Knight, and Death Race over There Will Be Blood. This man does not take his job seriously and simply uses his "last angry man" farce as a petty act to gain attention.
What was so great about Transformers: Rise of the Fallen, the Clash of the Titans remake, and Land of the Lost? Yet he gave them all positive reviews. Furthermore, he resorts to cheap, ad-hominem attacks when he has no valid criticism of a movie (which is what usually happens), such as calling those who like the movies he doesn't like "fools" or calling some who criticizes him "racist." It's that utter lack of professionalism that has me convinced that he is nothing but a troll.
We have the authority to have our own opinions. So does he, and so do you. The reason we dislike his opinions is because we recognize him for the sad little attention whore he is, and a bully at that. I would call ANYONE who can call Transformers 2 and Jonah Hex good movies a troll. And if you're here to do nothing but defend him, well, what does that make you?
I'm guessing this is a review of the immature silly reaction to Armond White's (re: just one guy) reviews and not an actual reaction to his reviews. Because if the guy in the video is trying to act like one of the million haters that Armond has by just saying useless crap and getting angry that he didn't like their fav movie then it's bang on.

Armond White is just an idiot troll. He deliberately gives bad reviews to good movies (even going so far as to criticize the people who like the movie in his review) while giving good reviews to shitty movies. He is an attention whore and nothing else.

Yeah, Armond White is a self-righteous joke. Not because I frequently disagree with him, but he's just lousy at communicating an opinion. The only time I ever read his reviews is when I need something to laugh at. He thinks that just because he's studied criticism that he's above everybody else. He's got a list of errors, but the two biggest ones are 1) he says what he doesn't believe and 2) he insults his readers, saying anybody who likes movies he doesn't are "fools" and "morons."
Man, I hadn't even heard of the guy before his District 9 review (which Doug Walker also didn't like very much), and that wasn't so bad even though I think they were quite unfair in both their reviews.
But after giving Toy Story 3 a negative review and Jonah Hex a positive one, is the guy really worth paying attention to?

Normally, I wouldn't have a problem if somebody felt that Jonah Hex was better than Toy Story 3; that's their opinion. But that's the problem. Armond White doesn't give opinions. Much of his review is spent criticising Pixar for being corporate sellouts. On top of that, he said that Hamm was one of the villains, which means he probably didn't even watch it.
so i went i watched toy story 3 again, in 3d this time, no difference really. And my biggest problem with the film is that it lacks the epic feeling of the previous films, or maybe i was just younger, characters are so flat, the story seems rushed, the jokes can be seen coming miles away, the references to cinema feel contrived, forced and annoying. it felt like a very long advert for the toys, and is not just because is a movie about toys, there are specific scenes were it is too much.

Also, about the specific scenes being too much, you are aware that Pixar films are for EVERYONE right? The film was made more towards the fans who grew up with the first 2 though. If you are going to tell me where the toys hold hands while they are about to die isn't an amazing scene and calling me stupid for liking it, comments will be removed.
@Jurassic1993Park The only other person who I know has called this film an advertisement for toys is the very guy that The Nostalgia Critic so brilliantly tears apart here. I agree with you, though; I think that Toy Story 3 is amazing (especially the specific scene which you mentioned), and it's one of my personal favourites. If I meet someone who doesn't at least like Toy Story 3, then we're gonna have issues.

Toy Story 3 isn't a guilty pleasure; Transformers is a guilty pleasure, and I feel guilty about liking it. Tons of people would happily argue with me over Transformers; I could probably count the number of people who I know dislike Toy Story 3 with one of my hands. @Jurassic1993Park Yeah, No. 2 was a mistake. I thought there was a charm and even humanity to Transformers which stopped it from being just a big, incoherent punch-up, mainly due to Shia LaBeouf. The comedy was also effective. ROTF's the equivalent of cinematic diarrhoea. The comedy's awful (robot balls?!), the action had little threat or coherency, there's no life to the characters, and the final hour is the most horrifically bad, uninvolving filmmaking I've seen in a long time.
@TheUnseenMovieLover I agree. It seems like Michael Bay has seen some G1 episodes, because he put Shockwave, Carly and Optimus Prime's trailer in the third movie. I will pray that at least it's better than the previous one.
Armond White is the only interesting critic on RT. No, I don't agree with him, but he's the only guy who can still surprise me with what he has to say. One of the few who can actually make you think about things differently. Are his reviews usefull for knowing how to spend my money... don't be stupid, but they are very usefull for things beyond that.

how about the fact that what he pushes is beginning to influence other reviewers and if his ideas gain mainstream acceptance then we'll see even more failures like his TS3 review, and when that happens the film industry will become even more fulled with boring ass movies that hide behind political messages when they have serious short comings

Armond White is just an idiot troll. He deliberately gives bad reviews to good movies (even going so far as to criticize the people who like the movie in his review) while giving good reviews to shitty movies. He is an attention whore and nothing else.

Yeah, Armond White is a self-righteous joke. Not because I frequently disagree with him, but he's just lousy at communicating an opinion. The only time I ever read his reviews is when I need something to laugh at. He thinks that just because he's studied criticism that he's above everybody else. He's got a list of errors, but the two biggest ones are 1) he says what he doesn't believe and 2) he insults his readers, saying anybody who likes movies he doesn't are "fools" and "morons."

Man, I hadn't even heard of the guy before his District 9 review (which Doug Walker also didn't like very much), and that wasn't so bad even though I think they were quite unfair in both their reviews.
But after giving Toy Story 3 a negative review and Jonah Hex a positive one, is the guy really worth paying attention to?

@MjrMassiker I didn't particularly like Discrict 9, but I do not defend Armond White's review because 1) his review didn't even make sense and 2) because at the end of his review, he insulted his readers saying anybody who enjoys the movie is a "fool." To me, insulting your own readers is an all-time low. Sadly he does get what he obviously craves: attention.

@MyNameZebra Exactly, thank you for a thoughtful response. I cannot speak for everybody, but when I read a movie review, I look for two things 1) what the reviewer thought about the movie and 2) why they felt the way they did. I don't want to be told how I'm 'supposed' to think.

Normally, I wouldn't have a problem if somebody felt that Jonah Hex was better than Toy Story 3; that's their opinion. But that's the problem. Armond White doesn't give opinions. Much of his review is spent criticising Pixar for being corporate sellouts. On top of that, he said that Hamm was one of the villains, which means he probably didn't even watch it.

so i went i watched toy story 3 again, in 3d this time, no difference really. And my biggest problem with the film is that it lacks the epic feeling of the previous films, or maybe i was just younger, characters are so flat, the story seems rushed, the jokes can be seen coming miles away, the references to cinema feel contrived, forced and annoying. it felt like a very long advert for the toys, and is not just because is a movie about toys, there are specific scenes were it is too much.

Also, about the specific scenes being too much, you are aware that Pixar films are for EVERYONE right? The film was made more towards the fans who grew up with the first 2 though. If you are going to tell me where the toys hold hands while they are about to die isn't an amazing scene and calling me stupid for liking it, comments will be removed.

@Jurassic1993Park The only other person who I know has called this film an advertisement for toys is the very guy that The Nostalgia Critic so brilliantly tears apart here. I agree with you, though; I think that Toy Story 3 is amazing (especially the specific scene which you mentioned), and it's one of my personal favourites. If I meet someone who doesn't at least like Toy Story 3, then we're gonna have issues.

@Jurassic1993Park Absolutely. When you see quality like this, it makes you even angrier when someone who dislikes it tries to make you feel guilty about liking it. Toy Story 3 isn't a guilty pleasure; Transformers is a guilty pleasure, and I feel guilty about liking it. Tons of people would happily argue with me over Transformers; I could probably count the number of people who I know dislike Toy Story 3 with one of my hands. @Jurassic1993Park Yeah, No. 2 was a mistake. I thought there was a charm and even humanity to Transformers which stopped it from being just a big, incoherent punch-up, mainly due to Shia LaBeouf. The comedy was also effective. ROTF's the equivalent of cinematic diarrhoea. The comedy's awful (robot balls?!), the action had little threat or coherency, there's no life to the characters, and the final hour is the most horrifically bad, uninvolving filmmaking I've seen in a long time.

Armond White is the only interesting critic on RT. No, I don't agree with him, but he's the only guy who can still surprise me with what he has to say. One of the few who can actually make you think about things differently. Are his reviews usefull for knowing how to spend my money... don't be stupid, but they are very usefull for things beyond that.

@Jurassic1993Park I don't know if he is right all the time, and i think we don't need to think that way, but what we can do is compare our experience with his point of view. about those movies, I don't 'hate' them, I don't think they are the master pieces people say they are, the thing is after you watch a film like 2001, or the shining, it is very difficult to see any value in christopher nolan, he doesn't know how to tell stories with cinema, he just talks in a literal boring way.

Haha, this was great. Armond White is an intelligent guy, intent on making dumb statements.He just stated that Michael Bay is a better filmmaker than Christopher Nolan. He is an absolute try-hard. Unfortunately he gets the attention he craves, but exists solely as a figure of hate. This was a great upload by the way. I think you could have been a little more damning of him though. Next time, maybe don't hold back so much ;-)
