@deemon8 A mosque at Ground Zero has nothing to do with a memorial at Ground Zero. The last piece of steel was not removed from the site until eight months after the attacks (May, 2002). In addition, there was rubble to be sifted through for remains, personal items, etc.; not to mention the hundreds of funerals that took place. I don't know if you knew this or not, but cleaning up after a terrorist attack isn't exactly a one-day job.

Once we verify that the money is CLEAN - then they can be given permission to move foreword with the development.

@deemon8 A mosque at Ground Zero has nothing to do with a memorial at Ground Zero. The last piece of steel was not removed from the site until eight months after the attacks (May, 2002). In addition, there was rubble to be sifted through for remains, personal items, etc.; not to mention the hundreds of funerals that took place. I don't know if you knew this or not, but cleaning up after a terrorist attack isn't exactly a one-day job.

My heart is broken for all those who were lost on 9/11, but those who argue about the insensitivity of the mosque are reacting emotionally. When we act on emotion, we lose sight of what makes this country great and the ideas expressed in teh constitution. By backing the mosque, the president is doing what he swore to do when he took the oath of office and not letting his emotion cloud his judgment. I salute him for that.

I would have no objections to a Mosque at Ground Zero, if, --- IF --- Saudi Arabia and Muslims have no objection for a Roman Catholic Cathedral being built right next to Mecca. I'm sure Muslims do care about 'fair play and equality.' They should have what is good for them, and, we should have that Cathedral next to Mecca because we too want what is good for us. What do you think?

Genesis chapter 3 - where sin enters the world, and the earth and man become CURSED and suseptable to illness, etc. Of course, then you would have to also believe that Satan (the serpent) exists, too (another being you probably don't believe in). It is diffucult to prove the existance of the spiritual realm BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE IT WITH YOUR PHYSICAL EYES.

Many of these scientists' beliefs were guesses based on their observations. Science is supposed to explain how God's creation works, not deny His existance. P.s. The term "Ground Zero Mosque" is a flat out lie in itself. Do people even know where the mosque is going to be built? TWO BLOCKS AWAY FROM GROUND ZERO! That's the same distance as a local betting parlor and one block closer than two strip clubs! If it was right across the street I might think it's insensitive, but two blocks away? That doesn't get play because then we won't get mad enough to spike the ratings and it might not get used as a political talking point in THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS.
