You are 100% correct: too fast for the conditions on that day. He ( and the 5 others who crashed on the same day) didn't check out the road before riding fast....
next to that I agree his body positioning is to say the least very lazy especially for this type of corner. also the rider is not even looking into the corner. everything about it is an example of how you shouldn't ride.
@CyberEditing: the foot pegs of a monster contact the asphalt faster than on most bikes except choppers etc. this isnt usually a reason for a crash since they can moved upwards and are made for this. but I'm not sure the foot pegs on this monster are the original ones. maybe they are fixed and can explain what happened. I have monster and I hit the asphalt on most of my rides with both pegs. never caused me any trouble.
@BBoyXy Most sport bike riders here do as you suggest, plus they drag their knee nicely too, though it isn't always necessary. They're on my vid called "team colors".
All the slides could have been avoided by recon both ways, then doing a couple of passes at higher speeds.
Nasty, the rider did seem very upright on the bike, but it didn't look to be over that much?! Wierd one, you might be right on the ground clearance, but, it didn't look that much lean angle - aftermarket rearsets?? Odd one.
From the slow mo, I observed 2 points: 1) the rider was not weight shifting to the inside of the bike. 2) I don't know how this is possible for a Ducati, but he seemed to run out of ground clearance. Result : rear wheel pivoted off its contact patch & therefore complete loss of control.....Tell me if I'm wrong....

Rear break or shifting down. Somehow he lost grip on the rear. Also like someone else pointed out terrible body position.

@CyberEditing definitely after market foot pegs => they seem to be bolted and do not give way. this should explain the pivoting of the rear wheel.
