  • I love this movie simply because I was the train driver in it with my mate John Gilberthorpe. I want to download this tune so i can put it to the photos and video clips I have of my own and post it on Youtube. Any idea how I can download this soundtrack?? Thanks

  • @LifeofRail

    Love the movie dude !

  • I remember seeing this movie at a bar in a remote part of Costa Rica that showed movies once a week on Laserdisc. There was no moon that night and no streetlights for my 2-mile walk back to my bungalo, all I had was my little maglite ans I have seldom felt so frightened as I did on that long dark walk home...and there aren't even any lions IN Costa Rica LOL

  • 4:30 makes this movie so damn goosebumbing

  • Reminds me of my old Lion Hunts.

  • takes me back

  • most underated movie ever!

  • One of my fav childhood memories is watching this movie with my dad (which was frequently lol). No movie has created the same dread for me that this one did. every time my dad asked if I wanted to watch it I begged him not to, but then couldn't help myseld when he insisted xD

  • One of my all time favorite movies. I still need to make a trip to Chicago to see the brothers. I have wanted to go since I was a little girl to see these two, because what would be better than facing your fear?

  • @lococoyote1992 I have seen them in Chicago many times. They were made into rugs for a time before they were stuffed so they're smaller than they were originally. Very cool movie!

  • my sister went to chicago and saw the actual lions in the museum, she told me you can see theres something demonic about them in their eyes

  • Great composition! Nice condensed version! Hope ur in the music/movie biz because you got talent.

  • Ha, i have the 111.111 invocation from this vid.

  • Thank God there are people out there who still apprecitate beautiful music.

  • Three people polish Beaumont's brass.

  • best film val kilmer has been in just by "Heat" which is shit hot.tom wilkinson plays his role to perfection.allround great flick.music is eiriy but warming.

  • what country in africa was this in?

  • @ellpat3764 It was in Tsavo, Kenia

  • @ellpat3764 Kenya.

  • Good music, but poor Michael Douglas had to die. those big pussies had to get'em durin the night. :(

  • I remember watching this movie, it was the best!!! :)) I loved the soundtrack and hummed it to myself when I first visited Africa. thanks for posting.

  • My favourite film since the first time I saw it and one of my first childhood memories too!

  • One of my all time favorites! We could have done without Douglas but he paid for the production and had to include himself!

  • greeeeeaaaaaaaat movie, greeeeeeeaaaaattttttt soundtrack!!

  • 4:30 this was best soundtrack when Peterson had dream and then his friend dies, he know that he must kill that Lion.

  • I like the first 2:05 the most

    Great piece of music

  • thank you!!

  • nice

  • Masterpiece

    The music and the movie

  • Where did you get this soundtrack?? I was the train driver in this movie and am looking for the soundtrack to put with a few photos I took during the making and then I can post them on Youtube. Thanks

  • I love this movie, and the soundtrack

  • I saw this at the cinema on big screen. Chilling story if ever caught up in that situation must have been a bitch to hunt down those bloody thirsty unstoppable beasts dead in their tracks. The ending was quiet climatic with Jerry Goldsmith score and academy award best sound effects editing mixed recoded and released in DOLB STEREO SR-D.

  • Movie is excellent

  • I saw the two lions at the Field Museum in Chicago. They were unusual in that they had no manes. BTW Colonel Patterson went on to lead the Jewish Brigade in WW1.

  • @robertrth2 Not really unusual, since the male lions of the Tsavo region are generally maneless.

They are also much more aggressive than their cousins.

  • The film was execellent and a thrling music by jerry gold smith

  • If anyone wants to read colonel John pattersons true story you can buy his book its called "The man eaters of Tsavo"

  • super soundtrack and film

  • Comment removed

  • the first time I watched this movie my sandwich and a cup of tea remained untouched :D:D the only thing I was capable of doing was watching this thrilling movie (scary as hell too)

  • @greatviking13

A great film and epic soundtrack. I think Kilmer and Douglas were great choice of casting.

  • @TK42138 who wasn't? every single actor played their part exceptionaly :)

  • @greatviking13

    Absolutely.

Now I'm going shopping to find it on DVD :)

  • This movie is so underrated. I loved it back in the day and still do.

I remember how the music gave me chills the first time I watched it. With more traditional, classic-type music it would have been just another victorian travel diary, where the great white hunter comes and saves the day with his boom-boom gun. The tribal choir and the drums give you a feeling of the entire African landscape, as the natives see it.

  • @Merrypaws

You took the words right out of my mouth!! =D

  • such a beautiful song!! :')

  • one of the best irish songs the washer women with a twist love it

  • this movie is epic

  • Good trekking music. :)

  • Where did you download it from ??

  • without a doubt one of the most underrated movies ever! Should have had more plaudits than it got. Great soundtrack. Great movie. Will always one of my favourites!

  • Jerry Goldsmith was the master of the French Horn.

  • These guys are right. This is a great movie.Low budget doesn't crap in few cases and this is one of them.

The music is pretty epic too. Thanks for sharing.

  • Also costars the late great Henry Cele as Mahina. He starred as Shaka Zulu.

  • One of the best and most overlooked moives made in the last 20 years, among other things let down by one of the most inept and idiotic trailers ever made for a major movie (Look at it, you REALLY don't want to use money to see the movie after seeing that abortion)

  • Jerry Goldsmith was one of the best composers of film-music.

    His africa-scores are legend !!!

  • awsome theme

  • The Death in the Long grass, by Peter Capstick. These are the Lions of Tasvo, these to a degree really happened. But have you ever been to africa, what a land indeed..

  • awesome just awesome, sends the hairs on my neck to some cold place...

  • thanks so much for putting this up, I wanted to buy the soundtrack soo bad but amazon has it up for $215 strangely...

  • One of the best movies i have ever seen.

  • This movie is one my all time favorites. It's simply just awesome.

  • definelty one of the best movies of all time, and one of the best sountracks of all time, love the theme tune, and really ENJOY THE CULTURAL diversity shown in the movie, just phenonmenal movie,

pity that it is historically accurate in portrayal of the true attitude and nature of the british empire's rulers, who cared nothing for bringing different cultures together except to exploit them as labour.

    GREAT MUSIC, ETERNAL!

    thanks for uploading

  • i love this movie

  • Yeah me too, it's one of the good old movies, i really enjoy watching it every time.

  • amazing soundtrack,i see the whole movie and africa infront of my inner eye, when i hear it.thanks for sharing!

  • The African, Asian and European fushion in this composition is the stuff of legend. Powerful!!!

  • 来日したときのアンコール曲でした。

  • It was an encore tune when Goldsmith came to Japan and it co-starred with the Kanagawa philharmonic orchestra.

  • i love this theme

  • The first bit's the best. I need this film, havent seen it in so long. I love the hunter character who dies.

    Music here is genius.

  • Remington.

  • LION MOTHERFUCKER!

  • nice melody

  • where u get lions attack from

  • luv llions attack

  • I really love the music and the movie.

  • best composer ever!!!

  • I belive Goldsmith also conducts the Doctor Who theme tunes. He is brilliant.

  • starting at :50 is hella good

  • love the movie and the music. Very good

  • This is one of the best true horror movies ever made.

It actually happened, there wasnt a guy named remington but hundreds actually here dragged off and eaten until the colonel killed them.

Unlike in the movie the lions were actually maneless.

  • @ColbertNation88 the Colonel Patterson was nearly eaten twice by the lions, only about 35-40 railworkers were killed but they also got local villagers plus any tribes that hunted them. the lions also ate a couple hunters that were hired to kill them like remington, and the lion den with all the bones IS actually real found by Patterson himself... like the movie says "Even the most incredible parts of the story are true." The real Ghost and Darkness

  • @ColbertNation88 ummm, this is horror movie?

  • @ColbertNation88 Actually, Remington was a made up character if I remember, but everything preceding with Colonel Patterson was true, as well as the circumstances he endured to eventually kill the lions.

  • @ColbertNation88 Its not a horror movie..

  • @TheRahan100 You don't think so...? Try being out in the forest with "something" taking an interest in you, and darkness closing in.

  • @reptilian49 Atleast Mr. something that has an interest to you!! Is a predator, and i been a few time with a close friend it was late night. If you have brains and know surviving abilities you wont get caught on stink by the predators.

  • @reptilian49 god dammit i hate getting hacked this is the second comment that i didnt post myself. now i have to explain this again: i recently connected my fb account to my youtube one and my fb was hacked and i had to change the password. now im off to change my youtube password

  • @ColbertNation88

so true... the fact that these events actually took place makes the film even more shocking... and unlike all those ridiculous horror films made for teenagers (which are all more or less the same), this one is made to be watched by adults

Also, it captures the spirit of Africa very well... at least in the way it used to be back in the days of the British Empire

  • love the music,....i see african desert as far as i can see if i hear the music,....it just fitts

  • Love this soundtrack...LIONS ATTACK is my favorite. It's just so menacing.

  • You dont get score like this now days, they bloody sound the same, no themes no melodies!!

  • the end theme is fantastic.

  • thanks mate

  • any1 knows how i can get just da song from 4:22 only

  • Yeah Man Its Called Lions Reign.

  • It's called Remington's death.

  • Go to Amazon and you should be able to purchase this and other simular music.

  • It is called Remington's death.

  • one of the most powerful films I've ever seen. the soundtrack added so much to it.

  • I love Jerry Goldsmith's music, he is truly a legend to me, he did some of the music for the "Mummy," and the "13th Warrior." Great sountrack that fit's with a great told movie.

  • This and other music can be found on Amazon.

  • Can you someone tell me where to find similar songs like this? I like these african songs and how the shaman (or whoever it is) sing. If you can tell me what the style exactly is, I would be glad. Sorry for my English.

  • Pretty good movie, but I love the music tons. Also I saw the real Tsavo lions from the true story. They're kept on display at the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History. A little anticlimactic when you see them though: their don't have huge flowing manes.

  • I've seen them too, it is pretty surreal to really see them. Don't look them in the eyes...

  • Best song ever!!

  • I love it from 4:32, I'd like to get just this part, but it sucks that it's long just a minute. -_-

  • Great music. This film is practically undiscovered despite its excellence.

  • this is a good movie based on a horrific true story (google man eaters of tsavo if u dont believe me). With the best soundtrack EVER!

  • This Film is very underrated. The soundtrack is one of the best out there.

  • @sparrow1568 when it looks like the director tells the crew to shake a fake lions head at the main actors..IT IS a bad flic.

  • hey i love this music and i was wondering if you could send it too me through my email if i sent you my email in a pm thanks if you get back to me

    kat :)

  • I listen to this soundtrack all the time.

    It never gets old.

  • I used to have Lions Attack on repeat! I just love it!

  • I miss africa :(

  • one day things will become good there and all us children of africa black and white will be able to return

  • fantastic soundtrack. Thanks for give us this pleasure!

  • This is one many favourites percussion beat is right on the note brass and horns and voices add to wonderful Jerry Goldsmith score, if you have good home cinema set-up with JBL and THX this score comes alive on its own thrilling scary six-track Dolby stereo mix.

  • the end is incredible. such a great melody!

  • thank you.. beautiful music....

  • magnificent
